    Hi there, Trying to create an uebersimple class that implements get enumerator, but failing madly due to lack of simple / non-functioning examples out there.     I have an object: POP_CULTURE_TYPES = ( ('SG','Song'), ('MV', 'Movie'), ('GM', 'Game'), ('TV', 'TV'), ) class Pop_Culture(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=30, unique=True) type = models.CharField(max_length=2, choices = POP_CULTURE_TYPES, blank=True, null=True) Then I have a function: def choice_list(request, modelname, field_name): mdlnm = get.model('mdb', modelname.lower()) mdlnm = mdlnm.objects.values_list(field_name, flat=True).distinct().order_by(field_name) return render_to_response("choice_list.html", { 'model' : modelname, 'field' : field_name, 'field_list' : mdlnm }) This gives me a distinct list of all the "type" entries in the database in the "field_list" variable passed in render_to_response. But I don't want a list that shows: SG MV I want a list that shows: Song Movie I can do this on an individual object basis if I was in the template object.get_type_display But how do I get a list of all of the unique "type" entries in the database as their full names for output into a template? I hope this question was clearly described. . .

Boxes being used: Web Box SQL Box SQL Test Box My Application: I've got aASP.NET Web Application, which references a class library that uses LINQ-to-SQL. Connection string set up properly in the class library. As per http://stackoverflow.com/questions/97594/login-failed-for-user-username-system-data-sqlclient-sqlexception-with-linq-i I also added this connection string to the Web Application. The connection string uses SQL credentials as so (in both web app and class library): <add name="Namespace.My.MySettings.ConnectionStringProduction" connectionString="Data Source=(SQL Test Box);Initial Catalog=(db name);Persist Security Info=True;User ID=ID;Password=Password" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> This connection confirmed as working via adding it to server explorer. This is the connection string my .dbml file is using. The problem: I get the following error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\MACHINENAME$'. Now referencing this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1269706/the-error-login-failed-for-user-nt-authority-iusr-in-asp-net-and-sql-server-2 it says that's really the local network service and using any other non-domain name will not work. But I am confused because I've checked both SQL Box and SQL Test Box SQL Management Studio and both have NT AUTHORITY/NETWORK SERVICE under Security - Logins, at the database level, that isn't listed under Security - Users, but at the database level Security - Users I have the user displayed in the connection string. At NTFS level on web server, the permissions have NETWORK SERVICE has full control. The reason why I am confused is because I have many other web applications on my Web Server, that reference databases on both SQL Box and SQL Test Box, and they all work. But I cannot find a difference between them and my current application, other than I am using a class library. Will that matter? Checking NTFS permissions, setup of Security Logins at the server and databases levels, connection string and method of connecting (SQL Server credentials), and IIS application pool and other folder options, are all the same. Why do these applications work without adding the machinename$ to the permissions of either of my SQL boxes? But that is what the one link is telling me to do to fix this problem.

  • Emails forwarded via postfix get flagged as spam and forged in Gmail

    I'm trying to setup a forwarding only email server. I'm running into the problem where all messages forwarded via postfix are getting put into gmail's spam folder and getting flagged as forged. I'm testing a very similar setup on a cpanel box and their forwarded emails make it through without any problem.     Hi there I have a class. public class MedicalRequest { private int id private IList<MedicalDays> Days private string MedicalUser ... } and another public class MedicalDays { private int id; private DateTime? day private MedicalRequest request ... } I'm using nhibernate to return a list of all the MedicalDays within a time span. I'd like to do something like this to the resulting list //nhibernate query IList<MedicalDays> days = daysDao.FindAll(searchCritCollection); //select a list of days from resulting list IEnumerable<MedicalDays> queriedList = days.SelectMany(i => i.MedicalRequest.MedicalUser == employee); Linq tells me that the type cannot be inferred by the usage. I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong, and if there is a preferred way of doing something like this. Thanks for your time.

    A common 'Perlism' is generating a list as something to loop over in this form: for($str=~/./g) { print "the next character from \"$str\"=$_\n"; } In this case the global match regex returns a list that is one character in turn from the string $str, and assigns that value to $_ Instead of a regex, split can be used in the same way or 'a'..'z', map, etc. I am investigating unpack to generate a field by field interpretation of a string. I have always found unpack to be less straightforward to the way my brain works, and I have never really dug that deeply into it. As a simple case, I want to generate a list that is one character in each element from a string using unpack (yes -- I know I can do it with split(//,$str) and /./g but I really want to see if unpack can be used this way...) Obviously, I can use a field list for unpack that is unpack("A1" x length($str), $str) but is there some other way that kinda looks like globbing? ie, can I call unpack(some_format,$str) either in list context or in a loop such that unpack will return the next group of character in the format group until $str is exausted?     Just a quick and simple question: in PostgreSQL, how do you list the names of all stored functions/stored procedures using a table using just a SELECT statement, if possible? If a simple SELECT is insufficient, I can make do with a stored function. My question, I think, is somewhat similar to this other question, but this other question is for SQL Server 2005: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/119679/list-of-stored-procedure-from-table (optional) For that matter, how do you also list the triggers and constraints that use the same table in the same manner?

    Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation);   • URL on apache server does not default to the .php file after / has been added

    Generally a url that looks like this: http://www.domain.com/product.php/12/ will open up product.php and serve the /12/ as request parameters, which then my PHP script can process to pull out the right product info. However when I migrated this whole site, after developing it, to a new server, I get a 404 error, because on that server it's not defaulting to the mother directory/file in case of an absence of requested directories. I would like to use JsonRequestBuilder to interact with this backend function I defined a AsyncCallback this way class MyCallBack extends AsyncCallback<List<MyObject>> { However, JsonpRequestBuilder does not this declaration AsyncCallback because the generic type is bounded to <T extends JavaScriptObject. List<MyObject does not satisfy this requirement. Do you have any suggestion to this problem?

  • Custom Django admin URL + changelist view for custom list filter by Tags

    In django admin I wanted to set up a custom filter by tags (tags are introduced with django-tagging) I've made the ModelAdmin for this and it used to work fine, by appending custom urlconf and modifying the changelist view. It should work with URLs like: http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin/reviews/review/only-tagged-vista/ But now I get 'invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'only-tagged-vista', error which means it keeps matching the review edit page instead of the custom filter page, and I cannot figure out why since it used to work and I can't find what change might have affected this. Any help appreciated.     Hi, I'm trying to use the sortable widget for my site. I have a mini scheduling app that I'd like to display a list of appointments for the week sorted by days. For this example we'll use only two days ( 2 lists ). If I wanted to drag an appointment (list item) from day 2 over to day 1, is there a way I can callback the id of list 1 after I dragged an item to it? I can find the id of the parent list upon page load but I can't seem to be able to pull the new id after sort.     Hi, I am trying to understand Linux Kernel implementation of linked list and hash table. A link to the implementation is here. I understood the linked list implementation. But i am little confused of why double pointers is being used in hlist (**pprev). Link for hlist is here. I understand that hlist is used in implementation of hash table since head of the list requires only one pointer and it saves space. Why cant it be done using single pointer (just *prev like the linked list)? Please help me.

    I have this xml: <root> <fruitlist> <apple>4</apple> <apple>5</apple> <orange>2</orange> <orange>6</orange> </fruitlist> </root> I'm writing a parser class, although I can't figure out how to deal with multiple node types. I can easily parse a list that contains only one node type (eg. just apples, not oranges) @ElementList(name = "fruitlist") private List<Apple> exercises; with more than one node type it also wants so parse non Apple nodes which doesn't work. I also tried to make another list for oranges, but it doen't work, I can't use fruitlist name more than once. @ElementList(name = "fruitlist", entry = "orange") private List<Orange> exercises; The ideal would be two seperate list for both node types.     I'm attempting to synchronously read from a CFReadStream objected created by CFStreamCreatePairWithSocketToHost. The stream opened fine but when I attempt to invoke CFReadStreamRead on it in a loop, CFReadStreamRead() returns -1 and the resulting error is: Error Domain=kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork Code=2 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 2.)" UserInfo=0x14a920 {kCFGetAddrInfoFailureKey=8} I'm also receiving this same exact error when using this ReadStream asynchronously- the first callback I receive is this error.

  • Running time for Dijkstra's algorithm on a priority queue implemented by sorted list/array

    So I'm curious to know what the running time for the algorithm is on on priority queue implemented by a sorted list/array. I know for an unsorted list/array it is O((n^2+m)) where n is the number of vertices and m the number of edges. Thus that equates to O(n^2) time. But would it be faster if i used an sorted list/array...What would the running time be? I know extractmin would be constant time.
