  I am pulling categories from an xml file. I only have 5 categories but the code below keeps pulling categories indifitely! Weird thing, I dont even have a loop in the xml function.   My friend added 90 rows into the database, I tied it up to my app. In my table view name of my variables are shown in proper fashion but when I tapped one of them, in detailsViewController their description is wrong. It shows very old description of variables not the new ones in database. Moreover, it displays the same description for different variables. What's the problem ? What am i missing? My database is correct. It displays same desscriptions for different values. It makes me worried about. Additionally, when I added a new row to my db, it accepts it but it does not perceive it when i run the app. It shows new row in my tableview if and only if I change the name of my db file. I do not want to use another SQL manager ..

• has_one update problem

  I have two models, User and Account. Each user may have one account. Creating an account for a user works fine. My problem is that when I try to update the account, the previous accounts user_id is nullified and a new account row is created with the user_id. I do not want this happening. I want to update the existing row with the changes to account. How do I do this? Thanks.

  Is there a way to actually get the column name that was updated in order to use it in a trigger? I have to write another DataDao , and another service layer to wrap the two actions ( ownerDao.update(owner) ; dataDao.delete(data); ) Is it possible to make a data row automatically deleted when the owning Owner set it to null ?

  I have a set of 100 rows, pretty similar to values which can be selected in a picker. When the user scrolls the table, I want the rows to be appended like an forever-ongoing assembly-belt. So when the user scrolls down and reaches the row 100, and scrolls even further, the table view will show again row 1, and so on. Reverse direction same thing. My thoughts: don't display scroll indicators (they would make not much sense, probably) what value to return in the numberOfRows delegate method? This infinity constant? in cellForRowAtIndexPath: simply wrap the index around when it exceeds bounds?

  What is the single fastest method for table row hover css change? I've tried jQuery (onmouseover/out) and CSS with tr:hover, but once I make my page fullscreen (1920x1200) the performance on my grid is getting just sluggish enough to give the entire page a feel of being sub-par. That's on a grid with 25 rows, and some spans and divs per row. I've tried IE and Google Chrome. Is there another, faster method? What is generally considered the fastest method across browsers for doing hover CSS changes?

• Searching a 2D array for a range of values in java

  I have a 2^n size int array and I want to check if an element exists that is greater than 0. If the element exists, I want to divide the array by 4 and check if the coordinates of the found element are in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th quadrant of the array. For example, logically if the element exists in the first quadrant it would look something like this: If array[][] 0 && the row of that coordinate is in the range 0-(grid.length/2-1) && the column of that coordinate is in the range 0-(grid.length/2-1) then do something. I'm really not sure how to check the row and column index of the found element and store those coordinates to use in my if statement. Help!

I want to rewrite this in C++ and hopefully learn some stuff (I am doing a unit on C++ atm, so it'll help) on the way. What's the easiest way to approach this? I have looked at Direct X, and have so far followed a bunch of tutorials and have drawn some rudimentary triangles. However I can't find a simple (draw point).

• Faster way to update 250k rows with SQL

  I need to update about 250k rows on a table and each field to update will have a different value depending on the row itself (not calculated based on the row id or the key but externally). I tried with a parametrized query but it turns out to be slow (I still can try with a table-value parameter, SqlDbType.Structured, in SQL Server 2008, but I'd like to have a general way to do it on several databases including MySql, Oracle and Firebird). Making a huge concat of individual updates is also slow. What about creating a temp table and running an update joining my table and the tmp one? Will it work faster?

• MySQL query for initial filling of order column

  Sorry for vague question title. I've got a table containing huge list of, say, products, belonging to different categories. There's a foreign key column indicating which category that particular product belongs to. I.e. in "bananas" row category might be 3 which indicates "fruits". Now I added additional column "order" which is for display order within that particular category. I need to do initial ordering. Since the list is big, I dont wanna change every row by hand. Is it possible to do with one or two queries? I dont care what initial order is as long as it starts with 1 and goes up. I cant do something like SET order = id because id counts from 1 up regardless of product category and order must start anew from 1 up for every different category.

  I have set the size of the tableView that I show as the popoverController as 4*rowheight. And I am using 12cells in the tableView. Each cell contains an image and a label. I can see all the cells by scrolling. Upto 5th cell its ok. After th2 5th cell, the label and the image that I am using in the first four cells are being repeated for the remaining cells. And If I select the cell, the result is accurately shown. But when I again take the tableView, the image and labels are not accurate even for the first 5 cells. All are changed but the selection is giving the correct result.
