  • Why is the image not showing in IE7?

    I have an image on this page in the blue bar area. It shows up fine in FF, Safari, IE8 & Chrome, but it does not show up in IE7. Here is the HTML: <div id="featuredImage"> <img src="images/website_design_charlotte.jpg" width="960" height="159" alt="" /> </div> Here is the CSS: #featuredImage { position: absolute; z-index: 9; top: 129px; left: 0; } #featuredImage img { width: 986px; height: 159px; position: relative; z-index: 10; } Would appreciate some help getting this to show up properly in IE7.     My thesis is written in b5j documentclass style. \documentclass[b5j,twoside,12pt]{report} I have a paper that is appended at the end. However this is written in b5paper style as an article. \documentclass[12pt,b5paper,twoside]{article} How do I get the paper to follow the japanese style? Havent found any b5paperj options in the geometry package.. :-/

    I'm working on an android form with a radio group containing a set of radio buttons. From what I can tell there is no way to set the color a radio button highlights when you select it. It seems to always default to some bright green color. Is this something that is editable or no? Thanks

  • What is the best way to write faster on Vim using a non-english keyboard?

    I usually use Vim, and its great for the ability to do faster some actions than other editors. However, since I live in Argentina I have a Latin American keyboard, that makes everything in Vim pretty slower (to write / to search, I must press Shift+7). Since I don't want to be changing Keyboard layouts all the time (and its pretty difficult to get used to pressing symbols as in an English keyboard), I was wondering if there was a vim plugin (of .vimrc file) that may be useful for international users. Just for the sake of it, here's how the Latin American keyboard is laid out: By the way, I would love to go and buy an English keyboard, but unfortunately I use a Laptop.

I understand the "most stupid" way to do it naming tbColors three times in the FROM section, using a different alias for each column to replace. How would a non-stupid way look?

    Hi I am trying to find rows that are not in one table and insert them into another. The table I am trying to insert into has less columns then the other one. These columns are null but it would be cool if I could hardcode a value before I do the insert. But I am having so much trouble with just trying to get it to insert. I have something like this SELECT p.ProductId, p.ProductName INTO SomeTable FROM Product as p WHERE p.ProductName != 'iPad' I will get a error like this though Msg 4104, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The multi-part identifier "p.ProductId" could not be bound. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I copied and pasted the names in so I don't think it is a spelling mistake. I am using ms sql 2005 express.

    I would like to rid new entries into my database of Latin-1 characters and just allow UTF-8. I plan to Alter table and make the following changes: Charset: latin1 - utf-8 Collation: latin1_swdish_ci - utf8_general_ci The table in question has 1 million rows. Is this a good idea? What are the risks of doing this? What happens to data that I try to input that is not in utf-8? What happens to data that has been previously entered that is not utf-8?

  • Can you tell me why my webpage displays differently in IE and how to fix it.

    I've been browsing through all of the CSS related cross-browser questions trying to troubleshoot my IE styling issues with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to fix my homepage styles so that it displays the same in IE as it currently does in Firefox? I've used Firebug (probably why it looks good in Firefox) but I can't find any tools for IE that will let me change the stylesheet real time. I'm just as interested in the process of figuring out this answer as I am in the answer itself so posting the steps you took to figure it out would be beneficial. (want to be able to do this myself next time!!!) Website is AppQandA.com. Scroll down to the bottom in IE and notice the footer. It's not like this on every page.....just the main page and the questions page.

  • SQL 2008 table locked - can't work out why

    I have two databases on one SQL 2008 server. Database 1 seems to be causing a lock on a table on database 2. There no queries are running on database 1 that should affect database 2. Is this normal behaviour? When I view the running queries with this command SELECT sqltext.TEXT, req.session_id, req.status, req.command, req.cpu_time, req.total_elapsed_time/1000 [seconds] FROM sys.dm_exec_requests req CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(sql_handle) AS sqltext it tells me as much, and says that the command on database 2 is suspended. I'm at a bit of a loss. What sort of things should I look at to work out why the table in database 2 is locked?

Previously in winforms world I'd override onload in a base form and iterate through all controls and containers and determine the type of controls and set the dimensions accordingly. I guess I could do the same in WPF but is there any better way to do this?

    Hey, I am not sure what to do on this one, I'm not a programmer, but trying to learn CSS as this is how the theme I am using was coded in. I've gotten quite far on my own, but this one stumps me Its two column Theme... As far as I have been able to get, I can use the following: #left { width: 235px; padding: 10px; margin-left: 20px; position: fixed; line-height: 15px; If I change the position to Absolute, The whole page scrolls, If I leave it at Fixed, and add lets say, a Twitter feed, or other type of text that takes me past its reading where you would normally scroll, Its just cut off, cannot get to it, hightlight or scroll.. I've also toyed with the idea, of changing the theme to a 3 column theme, but Again, not a programmer, and i'd be really confused. anyhelp would be great...     Hi, I develope an application in C#.Net 2.0, Windows. The App has a RSS Feed Reader for specific sites (to collect the biggest news). I found a very nice DLL for this in which I can very easy read the RSS. But my problem is the design, I tried a lot, how to display easy, quick and nice, but it sucks like hell, I tried nerly every control in the toolbox and fill it with the RSS Feeds and it looks ugly. So knows anybody a control to display RSS feeds nicly? I know its an copy, but no one answers there.

The selection criteria for my table groups based on column 1(order #). There could be multiple items on each order, but the item #'s are not grouped together.     Why do I need to add allocationSize=1 when using the @TableGenerator to ensure that the id wouldn't jump from 1, 2,... to 32,xxx, 65,xxx,... after a jvm restart? Is there a design reason for the need to specify the allocationSize?   • Use CSS (and maybe JavaScript) to make an element be square (or maintain a specific aspect ratio)

    I have a div that I want to have the following characteristics: Width = 50% of its parent element Height equal to whatever it needs to be in order to maintain a certain aspect ratio. I need to use percentages because the object will resize left-right when the browser is resized. I want the object to be resized top-bottom to ensure the object maintains the same aspect ratio. I don't think there's any way to use pure CSS to do this, but does anyone know of a way? Alternatively, is there an easy JavaScript way to do this? (JQuery is fine.)

  • Floats not clearing properly in IE - how to fix?

    I've been banging my head for about an hour now, and I've distilled the problem down to the simplest example I can think of that shows the problem. The CSS/HTML <style> #T div { float: left; } ._b { clear: left; } </style> <div id='T'> <div class='_a'>*</div> <div class='_b'>*</div> <div class='_c'>*</div> <div class='_d'>*</div> </div> IE7 *** * FF, Chrome, Opera * *** The result in FF/Chrome/Opera is what I'd expect. There's no adding more mark-up to fix this and I'm absolutely befuddled on to how to make it work properly in IE. It gets really ugly when you have say, 3 all on a row to themselves and then 3 meant to be on the same line -- the extra 2 end up on the first row. I really hope someone knows the work-around for this.

    This question is, as indicated, for those who use Emacs. When you do, do you rebind the caps-lock key to CTRL, or do you use the "normal" ctrl key? I've recently learned some Emacs commands and was using the Visual Studio 2008 emacs commands for a while, and of course I used a caps-rebind tool, but I'm curious how many other people do. On a side note, the emacs bindings for VS are severely incomplete :(

  • Javascript check all checkboxes in a table / asp.net

    I have a table with rows in, and each row has a few <td> elements. The last element has a checkbox in. They are in a <div> which is set to runat="server". I have another checkbox on the page called "chkAll" that when clicked, I want to javascript check or uncheck all of the checkboxes in my table. I'm not very good at Javascript, so I am not sure what to do. I added a javascript onclick method, and put document.getelementbyid and put in the div.clientID, but I wasnt sure what to do from there. Any ideas?
