  • Changing css-class-wrapper parameter of liferay portlet at runtime

    As the title says - I need to change css-class-wrapper parameter at runtime, preferably in action class. I've found that Portlet interface has setCssClassWrapper method that could probably do what I want, but I can't seem to find any easy way to access current portlet object from my code. Could anyone please give me a hand with what I want to achieve. Thanks.

    I am still fairly new to C# and I am trying to decide the best way to structure a new program. Here is what I want to do and I would like feed back on my idea. Presentation Layer Business Layer (Separate Class Library) Data Layer (Separate Class Library) Model Layer (Separate Class Library) What I am struggling with is if it is ok to have the classes in the Data Layer and Business Layer inherit from the types I define in Model Layer. This way I can extended the types as needed in my Business Layer with any new properties I see fit. I might not use every property from the Model type in my Business Layer class but is that really a big deal? If this isn't clear enough I can try and put together an example.

    While scrolling my web page a DIV which have a video is not going behind the top DIV. On my web page a top DIV,which have folloing css styling #header{ font-size:11px; height:25px; position:fixed; top:0; width:960px; z-index:1000; } Now after clearing all floated element,I added a video on a wrapper DIV like same as this way.. <div id="vedio"> <object>video code</object> </div> Applying CSS #vedio{ position:relative; text-align:center; z-index:0; } After doing all stuff video is not going behind header.Please Someone Help me out. Instead of having to create an edit/display for each entity, I'd like to have the controller base class generate the view and validation code based off metadata stored in a table - something along those lines. I would imagine something like this has already been done, or there are good reasons for not doing it. Any insight or suggestions are appreciated.

  • Database nesting layout confusion

    I'm no expert in databases and a beginner in Rails, so here goes something which kinda confuses me... Assuming I have three classes as a sample (note that no effort has been made to address any possible Rails reserved words issue in the sample). class File < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :records, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :records, :allow_destroy => true end class Record < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :file has_many :users, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :users, :allow_destroy => true end class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :record end Upon entering records, the database contents will appear as such. My issue is that if there are a lot of Files for the same Record, there will be duplicate record names. This will also be true if there will be multiple Records for the same user in the the Users table. I was wondering if there is a better way than this so as to have one or more files point to a single Record entry and one or more Records will point to a single User. BTW, the File names are unique. Files table: id name 1 name1 2 name2 3 name3 4 name4 Records table: id file_id record_name record_type 1 1 ForDaisy1 ... 2 2 ForDonald1 ... 3 3 ForDonald2 ... 4 4 ForDaisy1 ... Users table: id record_id username 1 1 Daisy 2 2 Donald 3 3 Donald 4 4 Daisy Is there any way to optimize the database to prevent duplication of entries, or this should really the correct and proper behavior. I spread out the database into different tables to be able to easily add new columns in the future.

    I'm trying to put a TextView and a ToggleButton in a table row, however, they don't seem to align (The top of the button starts about 10px below the top of the textview even though the height each element is the same.   • Forumotion profile customization using jQuery based on URL

    The idea is have a jQuery snippet (I like Jquery...I can understand it better then regular javascript) that will detect that when it has been run on a profile with a url such as "http://customize.forum-motion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&u=1" (just as an example)...then upon detecting that it is a url of a profile...fetch data from a specific (and most likely hidden) element before wrapping that data in css tags and appending it to the heady of the current document. In short I'm trying to figure out how to make a sort of profile customization system where users can create their own css. The biggest problem I am having so far is figuring out how to make it so that the snippet can figure out what URL its being run on. Is there a function that can do this in jQuery at all?

  • Vim 80 column layout concerns

    I feel like the way I do 80-column indication in Vim is incorrect: set columns=80. At times I also set textwidth but I like to be able to see and anticipate line overflow with the set columns alternative. This has some unfortunate side effects -- I can't set number for fear of splitting between files that have different orders of line numbers; i.e. < 100 line files and = 100 line files will require two different set columns values because of the extra column used for the additional digit display. I also start new (g)Vim sessions instead of splitting windows vertically, which forces me to use the window manager's clipboard -- vsplits force me to do set columns every time I open or close a pane, so starting a new session is less hassle. How do you handle the 80-character indication when you want to set numbers, vertically split, etc.?

  • Create two semi-transparent images that when stacked produce the target image

    Due to CSS limitations I am forced to stack to semi-transparent images on my website. I won't go into detail regarding the CSS since if I can get this question answered the problem is moot. Anyway, I would like to modify image A in the GIMP such that it will look like it did originally after being stacked on top of image B. Both image A and image B have their opacities set to 50%. Image B is a solid color throughout, whereas image A has some minor details such as a gradient.   • image in div doesn't display anything

    i'm trying to insert an image in a div container using css and html, but it doesn't display any image. html code: <div id="wrapper"> <div id="quoteContainer"> <span class="start_img"></span> </div> </div> css: .start_img { background: url(image/img1.png); border: dotted 2px black; width:200px; height:20px; } apart from the img, not even the border shows. i tried using the <img> tag in html to insert the image inside the div, that doesn't work either. is there anything wrong with the code?

    I am creating a web site for a customer and they want to be able to create articles. My idea is to tag them so I am going to implement the system. What is the best design, both from an architectural and a perfomance perspective: 1. To have table with all tags and then have a one to many relationship table that links a tag like this: articles table with ID tags table with ID one to many table with columns Article.ID and Tags.ID 2.   • Problem with IE when using display:block for links

    This is my HTML: <div id="links"> <a href="">Link 1</a> <a href="">Link 2</a> <a href="">Link 3</a> <a href="">Link 4</a> </div> And these are the CSS styles: #links { position: absolute; border: 1px solid #000; } #links a { display: block; } #links a:hover { background-color: #CCC; } This displays a list of links, the problem is that in IE, I can only click a link by directly clicking the text link, which is not the case with other browsers (where you can click anywhere whether the text link or anywhere else as long as it's in the link block), is there any fix for that (with only CSS, no javascript)? Please note that I don't want to specify a width for the links or the div.

Why can't the css just reference the body tag?

  • IE7,8 Alpha PNG fade

    Does anyone know what is causing this issue? http://i.imgur.com/z1pzh.png The div in question has a solid 1x1 alpha opaque png repeating in its background-image property, and it's supposed to be all one bg color, not that fading effect. It doesn't appear in FF, Opera or Chrome. If you need more details, I can provide some CSS, but I assure you the CSS is in order. If someone doesn't just out-and-out know why this is happening, they more than likely won't find an answer looking in the code.

Unknown property 'border-top-left-radius' Line 274. Unknown property 'border-top-right-radius' Line 275. unknown property 'zoom' Lines 300,306,336,345,385,408. Q: Should I just ignore these errors?
