• Lotus Notes - Fails to move inbox article to subfolder

  Lotus Notes 8.5 - yuck! User is trying to move an email from the Inbox into a subfolder and is using the menu option (not dragging & dropping) the email simply fails to move. It just appears again in the inbox. Drag and drop has the same effect! I have checked that it is a failure to move and not just a copy/delete issue. I am not a Notes adminstrator, being more of a MS Exchange administrator by career path and have no idea what to be looking for.

• Why does my DHTML menu have huge layout issues in IE7?

  This one's got me stumped. Usually with a little CSS juggling here and there I am able to solve most IE7 CSS bugs, but not this one! Head on over to the example page and view it in IE7, you will soon see that when mousing over the (vertical) drop down menu on the left of the page, it opens the sub menu WAY over to the right. I have pulled every last hair out! If it helps, the menu was made with 'Sothink DHTML Menu 9' As always, all replies are much appreciated.

  Hey there, This is a bit urgent! I'm trying to make a simple filter search where-by you can choose from a series of 3 drop downs and then based upon this the results are then displayed, How would I go about adjusting the sql query for each and if you were to only choose to search from aone of the 3 rather than all 3 etc... example there could be the url with input such as: url.com?location=gb&color=3&hair=4 and still form the correct sql query for something like this: url.com?location=gb&hair=1 and not encounter problems with WHERE and AND etc etc and empty variables in the statement Would this not need to be a massive function to check using if to see how the data is set for all possibilities?   I would like to get a list of Active Directory users along with the security groups they are members of using SQL Server 2005 linked servers. I have the query working to retrieve records but I'm not sure how to access the memberOf attribute (it is a multi-value LDAP attribute). I have this temporary to store the information: DROP TABLE #ADUSERGROUPS CREATE TABLE #ADUSERGROUPS ( sAMAccountName varchar(30), UserGroup varchar(50) ) Each group/user association should be one row. This is my SELECT statement: SELECT sAMAccountName,memberOf FROM OpenQuery(ADSI, '<LDAP://hqdc04/DC=nt,DC=avs>; (&(objectClass=User)(sAMAccountName=9695)(sn=*)(mail=*)(userAccountControl=512)); sAMAccountName,memberOf;subtree') I get this error msg: OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'ADSDSOObject' IRowset::GetData returned 0x40eda: Data status returned from the provider: [COLUMN_NAME=memberOf STATUS=DBSTATUS_E_CANTCONVERTVALUE], [COLUMN_NAME=sAMAccountName STATUS=DBSTATUS_S_OK]]. • Hiding a dropdown menu without it flashing with prototype

  I have a number of dropdowns and divs that are hidden when the page loads and can be toggled with a click or mouseover, but some of them flash b/c the javascript does not run in time. I have their display initially set to block and then I use javascript/prototype to find the element and hide it. I have tried loading these "hider" functions using dom:loaded but there is still flashing. This is an example of a dropdown prototype initialization funtion. • Why is OnDragEnter not called?

  I have added the COleDropTarget variable to my view class, Registered it in the OnCreate(), which is being called at startup. I added the OnDragEnter and OnDrop virtual functions (not the others yet, as OnDragLeave). But they are not called when I drag (or drop) a piece of text over them. I just happened to think about the fact that I had already implemented the dropfiles function to the same window. Is this preventing the text drag? What else do I need? TIA, Harvey

• SSRS2008: LocalReport export to HTML / fragment

  I need local RDL report to be exported to HTML, preferably HTML fragment. In 2005 it wasn't officially supported but there was a trick. In SSRS2008 they seem to drop this support (there's no HTML extension in the supported extensions when enumerating using reflection) and use RPL instead which is a binary format that I doubt someone will be happy to parse. Actually it's doesn't seem to be about HTML at all. Now, is there a way to render HTML using SSRS2008 local report? Notice that I use VS2008 but with reporting assemblies installed from VS2010 Beta 2 reportviewer.

  Heya, I want to create a winforms app where you can assign tags to an entity. ofc I want the customer to re-use existing tags a lot. That's why I want to show them the list of tags while they are typing (similar to intellisense in VS and the tags-dropdown even here in stackoverflow ;)) do you have any control(s) in mind that offers this functionality? can I reuse a ComboBox for this? (here I need to drop it down programatically - how?) I want to have the taglist getting input-focus but not lose the mainform-focus, and I want it to be on top over all windows and even range out of the mainform-area (like intellisense in vs) thx!

• MySQL Triggers - How to capture external web variables? (eg. web username, ip)

  Hi, I'm looking to create an audit trail for my PHP web app's database (eg. capture inserts, updates, deletes). MySQL triggers seem to be just the thing -- but how do I capture the IP address and the web username (as opposed to the mysql username, localhost) of the user who invoked the trigger? • Multi page ordering form php or ajax

  I'm looking to create a multi page ordering form the first page would contain some dropdown and text fields, the second page would contain more text fields, the third page would be an order summery with paypal payment option. I'm just wondering what the best way to create this order form is. I've used sessions in the past but never with users entering in text and picking items from drop downs, does anyone have any resources for doing this? Or does anyone know of a jquery or other ajax example or plugin I might be able to use and modify. any insight would be a big help. thanks

• How to bind a List of a DataObject to a Grid with BindingSources?

I though of a DataGrid. Though I'm coming from ASP.net I'd first think of this.dataGridView1.DataSource = A.GetAllA(ConnectionString) Works, but I'd prefer a better databinding with BindingSources. (Because I've always heard that thats the way to go) I managed to drop a BindingSource onto the form and set the DataSource property to class A. But where can I set the SelectMethod and its parameters? If I set DataSource property of the dataGridView to the BindingSource, it will only display an empty line. Is this the right way to go? Will it only require some additional clicks in the wizard, or do I need to read tons of documentation to get this working?

• Dinamically creating a member ID card as pdf using PHP?

  I need to code a PHP script that would let me generate a pdf file which displays a member ID card (something like a credit card used to identify oneself) at a certain resolution. Let me explain: I do have the basic blueprint of the card in png file format. The script needs to drop in a member's name and birth day along with a serial. So far, no problem - there are plenty of good working PHP librarys out there. My problem is to ensure that the resulting pdf (the generated image of the card, to be precise) meets a certain resolution (preferably 300dpi), so that printing it would look right. Any ideas? I noticed that i can not change the view without going to edit mode, then go to modify shared web part. But in the home page of the calendar. There is a same calendar web part with a drop down menu to change views. Also, there is a small calendar connected to the main calendar web part in the left navigation area. Either by javascript documentaion XML of by naming privates in a certain way?   I'll try and be concise: 1) I have a dropdownlist with Autopostback set to TRUE 2) I have an UpdatePanel that contains a Label. 3) When the downdownlist selection is changed, I want to update the label. Problem: Focus is lost on the dropdownlist, forcing the user to click on the dropdownlist to reset focus back to the control. My "solution": In the DropDownList_SelectionChanged event, set focus back to the drop down list: dropdownlist1.focus() Problem: While this works great in IE, Firefox and Chrome change the scroll position such that the control which was assigned focus is positioned at the bottom on the visible portion of the browser window. This is often a very disorientating side effect. How can this be avoided so it works in FF as it does in IE?

• Add a custom compiler to XCode 3.2

  I have a working gcc 4.3.3 toolchain for an ARM Cortex-m3 and would like to integrate it into XCode. Is there a way to set up XCode (3.2) to use this gcc toolchain instead of the built-in GCC 4.2? What I've tried so far: I've added a modified copy of the GCC 4.2.xcplugin and changed the name, version and executable path. It shows up in XCode but whenever I set the "C/C++ Compiler Version" to the custom compiler it fails with Invalid value '4.3.3' for GCC_VERSION It seems like the valid version numbers are hardcoded somewhere else because even when I remove the original GCC 4.2.xcplugin, the value 4.2 remains valid (but is not visible in the "C/C++ Compiler Version" drop down anymore).

• Rows dropping when I try to join data from two tables

  I have a fairly simple query I'm try to write. If I run the following query: SELECT parts.id, parts.type_id FROM parts WHERE parts.type_id=1 OR parts.type_id=2 OR parts.type_id=4 ORDER BY parts.type_id; I get all the rows I expect to be returned. Now when I try to grab the parent_unit from another table with the following query six rows suddenly drop out of the result: SELECT parts.id, parts.type_id, sp.parent_unit FROM parts, serialized_parts sp WHERE (parts.type_id=1 OR parts.type_id=2 OR parts.type_id=4) AND sp.parts_id = parts.id ORDER BY parts.type_id In the past I've never really dealt with ORs in my queries so maybe I'm just doing it wrong. That said I'm guessing it's just a simple mistake. Let me know if you need sample data and I'll post some. Thanks.

  Some advice needed on how I can structure my models for my site. I have seen this post from Django project but still a little lost. Also come across Django-MPTT - but that's no help and possibly overkill. I'm looking to have categories & subcategories that are shown in the URLs like this: mysite.com/Level1/Maths/Calculations/Addition/ mysite.com/Level3/English/ mysite.com/Level2/English/Storytelling/ In my admin interface I'm looking to have drop downs for each level of category or subcategory. Also at each level I will be querying items (another model) like get all items that have the category 'Level1' AND 'Maths'. There could also be a situation where I have five or more subcategories. How is it best to create my models for best performance? It it worth using tagging instead?

  Good evening everyone, I am currently starting to dive into asp.net mvc and I really like what I see so far.. BUT I am somewhat confused about 'drop-in' functionality (similiar to what rails and it's plugins and nowadays gems are), an active community to contact etc. For rails there's github with one massiv index of plugins/gems/code-examples regarding mostly rails (despite their goal being generic source-code hosting..), for blogs, mailing lists etc it's also pretty easy to find the places the other developers flock around, but... for asp.net mvc I am somewhat lost where to go/look. It all seems scattered across codeplex and private sites, google code hosting etc etc.. but is there one (or few places) where to turn to regarding asp.net mvc development, sample code etc? • Multiple rows with a single INSERT in SQLServer 2008

  I am testing the speed of inserting multiple rows with a single INSERT statement. For example: INSERT INTO [MyTable] VALUES (5, 'dog'), (6, 'cat'), (3, 'fish) This is very fast until I pass 50 rows on a single statement, then the speed drops significantly. Inserting 10000 rows with batches of 50 take 0.9 seconds. Inserting 10000 rows with batches of 51 take 5.7 seconds. My question has two parts: Why is there such a hard performance drop at 50? Can I rely on this behavior and code my application to never send batches larger than 50? My tests were done in c++ and ADO.

• Avoid painting over nested controls

  I am writing a toolbar-style control and use the ThemeServices unit to paint the background required by the toolbar. Like so: ThemeServices.DrawElement(Canvas.Handle, ThemeServices.GetElementDetails(trRebarRoot), ARect); I then drop child controls onto the toolbar and voila - instant toolbar. Except that every now and again I notice that the nested (child) controls don't repaint as well. So my control paints its background and the child controls disappear until you move the mouse over them. Some of the edit controls show their client area (no border) and some of them are just gone altogether. This happens mostly when I place a window from another application over the toolbar and move it away. I keep thinking this has to be very easy to cure, that perhaps I'm somehow preventing the paint message from reaching the child controls, or missing an override but I have been unable to figure it out.

  Hello, I have a model with two foreign keys: class Model1(models.Model): model_a = models.ForeignKey(ModelA) model_b = models.ForeignKey(ModelB) value = models.IntegerField() Then, I create an inline formset class, like so: an_inline_formset = inlineformset_factory(ModelA, Model1, fk_name="model_a") and then instantiate it, like so: a_formset = an_inline_formset(request.POST, instance=model_A_object) Once this formset gets rendered in a template/page, there is ChoiceField associated with the model_b field. The problem I'm having is that the elements in the resulting drop down menu include all of the elements found in ModelB table. I need to select a subset of those based on some criteria from ModelB. At the same time, I need to keep the reference to the instance of model_A_object when instantiating inlineformset_factory and, therefore, I can't just use this example. Any suggestions?
