• Parse the HTTP_COOKIES string from Apache for use in #if clause

  I want to be able to read the cookies from Apache's HTTP_COOKIE string and then add includes based on the contents of that string. I've got this far: <!--#set var="cookies" value="HTTP_COOKIE" --> <p>COOKIES: <!--#echo var="$cookies"--></p> which gives me a string with all the cookies in it. Now I want to be able to parse the string for something like Name=Bob. I thought I'd be able to do this: <!--#if expr="$cookies = /Name=([a-zA-Z]+)/"--> <p>Your name is <!--#echo var="$1"--></p> <!--#endif--> But it doesn't seem to work. What should I be doing -- or isn't this possible?

• Use HttpGet with illegal characters in the URL

  I am trying to use DefaultHttpClient and HttpGet to make a request to a web service. Unfortunately the web service URL contains illegal characters such as { (ex: domain.com/service/{username}). It's obvious that the web service naming isn't well written but I can't change it. When I do HttpGet(url), I get that I have an illegal character in the url (that is { and }). If I encode the URL before that, there is no error but the request goes to a different URL where there is nothing. The url, although has illegal characters, works from the browser but the HttpGet implementation doesn't let me use it. What should I do or use instead to avoid this problem?

  When I return my object as JSON via JsonDataContractCodec OpenRasta sets Content-Type header to application/json but ignores charset part of content type. When I use Chrome it sends GET request with folowing header: Accept-Charset:windows-1251,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3 and all my utf-8 encoded json objects goes wrong. I tried to override OperationResult with no luck. OpenRasta overwrites my header with codec's one.

  I want to setup a proxy settings in Apache to use Facebook XMPP Chat So far I have setup ejabber server and I am able to access xmpp service using http://mydomain.com:5280/xmpp-http-bind I am able to create Jabber Account too. Now as I want to integrate Facebook XMPP chat , I want my server to sit in between client and chat.facebook.com because I want to implement Facebook chat and custom chat too. So I have read this article and come to know that I need to serve BOSH Service as a proxy in apache to access Facebook Chat service. So I don't know how to set up a proxy in a apache httpd.conf as I have tried following <Proxy *> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /xmpp-httpbind http://www.mydomain.com:5280/xmpp-http-bind ProxyPassReverse /xmpp-httpbind http://www.mydomain.com:5280/xmpp-http-bind But whenever I request http://www.mydomain.com:5280/xmpp-http-bind from strophe.js I am getting following response from server <body type='terminate' condition='internal-server-error' xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/httpbind'> BOSH module not started </body> and server log says following E(<0.567.0:ejabberd_http_bind:1239) : You are trying to use BOSH (HTTP Bind) in host "chat.facebook.com", but the module mod_http_bind is not started in that host.   I'm making an installer program for my web application. My web application uses CSS and JS heavily, so I want to enable both Static and Dynamic HttpCompression for IIS7/7.5. It needs 2 steps: I can modified the web.config, put <httpcompression> tag, it's ok. DynamicContentCompression must be turned on in Windows Feature to make httpCompression work. Static HttpCompression is enable by default in IIS7 and IIS7.5, but Dynamic HttpCompression is not enable by default (although it's available). I can do manually by turn on: Start/ControlPanel/ProgramsAndFeatures/TurnWindowsFeatures on or Off/IIS/WWW Service/Performance features/Dynamic Content Compression, but How can I programmatically turn it on that Windows Feature? I can use PowerShell, C# in my installer. Any idea how I might be able to do this? Thanks.

  Hi, i have part of Asp.NET 1.1 project. I work with remote site, which works incorrect in some cases - sometimes it write incorrect Content-Encoding header. In my code i get HttpResponse from this remote site. And if Content-Encoding header is equals, for example, "gzip", i need to set Content-Encoding header to "deflate". But there is no properties or methods in HttpResponse class to get Content-Encoding header. Content-Encoding property returns, in my case, "UTF-8". In Watch window i see _customProperties field, which contain wrong string value. How can i change header value with Asp.NET 1.1?

  In ASP.NET MVC 2, a couple of new action filter attributes were introduced, as "shorthand" for attributes in ASP.NET MVC 1; for example, applying the HttpPostAttribute does the same thing as applying [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] to an action method. In addition, with the more verbose syntax, it is possible to combine different methods, in order to allow for example both Post and Delete. Now I'm wondering: how do the new attributes work? If I apply both [HttpPost] and [HttpDelete], will ASP.NET MVC 2 allow both or require both (thus allowing nothing)?

• Python web server

  Hi I'd like to get suggestions on the best way to serve python scripts up as web pages. Typically I'd like a way for me and my colleagues to write simple web pages with minimal effort ie we focus on the business logic eg creating simple forms etc. Possibly with some way to manage sessions but this is a nice-to-have. It doesn't have to be WYSIWYG as they are developers but we are busy and don't want to spend long turning an idea into reality. It's for internal use so appearances are not paramount. The software required to enable this should be easy to setup and configure. eg adding new directories and python lib dirs should be easy. My first instinct is apache or tomcat with mod_python. Any comments / suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

  How should I interpret a empty User-agent? I have some custom analytics code and that code has to analyze only human traffic. I have got a working list of User-agents denoting human traffic, and bot traffic, but the empty User-agent is proving to be problematic. And I am getting lots of traffic with empty user agent - 10%. Additionally - I have crafted the human traffic versus bot traffic user agent list by analyzing my current logs. As such I might be missing a lot of entries in there. Is there a well maintained list of user agents denoting bot traffic, OR the inverse a list of user agents denoting human traffic?

  Hello, I've been trying to find a Python code that would log in to my Yahoo account from "Google App Engine". One supporter on "StackOverflow" gave me this three-step plan: Simulate normal login and save login page that you get; Save POST&GET headers with "Wireshark"; Compare login page with those headers and see what fields you need to include with your request; The problem here is that I have never used "Wireshark" before. Plus, I don't know what the POST&GET headers are. Can You, please, explain it to me (preferably with some example). Thank You.

• Using both chunked transfer encoding and gzip

  I recently started using gzip on my site and it worked like charm on all browsers except Opera which gives an error saying it could not decompress the content due to damaged data. From what I can gather from testing and googling it might be a problem with using both gzip and chunked transfer encoding. The fact that there is no error when requesting small files like css-files also points in that direction. Is this a known issue or is there something else that I havent thought about? Someone also mentioned that it could have something to do with sending a Content-Length header. • Send files using Content-Disposition: attachment in parallel

  I have a PHP page that sends a file to the browser depending on the request data it receives. getfile.php?get=something sends file A, getfile.php?get=somethingelse sends file B and so on and so forth. This is done like so: header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='. urlencode($filename)); readfile($fileURL); It works except it can only send one file at a time. Any other files requested are send in linear fashion. One starts as soon as another finishes. How can I get this to send files in parallel if the user requests another file while one is downloading?

  Hello, I have a WCF service accessible over the Internet. It has wsHttpBinding binding and message security mode with username credentials to authenticate clients. The msdn says that we should use message security for the Internet scenarios, because it provides end-to-end security instead of point-to-point security as Transport security has. What if i use transport security for the wcf service over the Internet? Is it a bad practice? Could my data be seen by malicious users? Thanks, Sergey

Now my question is adding image to DOM and and then calculating time on onload and requesting content of txt file using Ajax will they take same time or due to image and xml they will take different time ? why ?

• Why can't I set a cookie and redirect?

  I´m having a problem setting a cookie and doing a 302 redirect In chrome the cookie is not being set (I haven't tested safari), in other browsers I was having the same problem until I added Path=/ to the cookie an now it works. This is how the header looks; the status is 302 Found Content-Type text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Expires Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT Set-Cookie alasca-flash=error-Message<Required<error-Name<Required<error-Sex<Required<error-Age<Required<;Path=/ Location /messages/sdf Content-Length 0 Server Jetty(6.1.x) Any idea on why the cookie is not set? Or any workaround? Thanks!

Is this enough: binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.Digest; ... cf.Credentials.HttpDigest.ClientCredential = new NetworkCredential("myuser", "mypass", "mydomain"); cf.Credentials.HttpDigest.AllowedImpersonationLevel = TokenImpersonationLevel.Impersonation; What should be specified on the server side? obviously one needs: binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.Digest; but where do one specify in the server the digest username\password to validate the client against? In addition when Micosoft says that Digest Authentication uses the Domain Controller, what does it mean? Does it validate username\password against it?

• How could I embed a html/css/js view in a webstart application

  I would like to use a html/css/js view in my webstart project without requesting all permissions. I figured out that I could use the java HTTPServer to process the requests but I need a way to avoid using real sockets, so that the HTTPServer instantiation doesn't ask for some permission. Do you know any projects that achieve that ? and if not, what should I do to get an HTTPServer completely working locally (without hitting boundaries...) ? edit: maybe an HTTPServer is too much, I maybe only need a HttpHandler..

• Content-disposition:inline header won't show images inline?

  I'm trying to show an image inline on a page. I know when the browser can't display the content inline it will force a download anyway, but these are PNG and GIF images which display in the browser fine otherwise. In IE it doesn't force a download but it displays the image in ASCII. If I comment out the entire image case it FF and Chrome both display the ASCII but not the image. I thought setting the content type would allow FF and Chrome to show the actual image, and also allow the location to be used as an src. The javascript and css shows fine of course. Anyone got any ideas how I can make the images show properly? Thanks :)
