Keep permalinks in Wordpress

Is there any way to set my permalinks to keep their exact link. If I have a post like this one http://blog.rigo.ro/?p=11, then I would like that every time I edit the post to keep this link. I have installed the Revision Control plugin and I set it to do not keep revisions. Any ideea how to do this? I want to keep this format of links. Edit: I took a look again, the permalinks keep their links, but every time I edit it adds a new version to the database and the next post will have a higher number. If I edit my current post for 3 times (blog.rigo.ro/?p=11) the next post will be blog.rigo.ro/?p=14. Now, my question is how can I keep all my post and edits clean, one post/more edits = one entry in the database, so if I have. 10 post on my site and I edit them, I would like that my permalinks to be from 1 to 10. PS: I don't want to edit my database manually, is there any plugin to do this?

Using udev to create a character device based on a driver being loaded

I'm in the process of setting up RAID monitoring for a number of Dell servers that use the PERC 6i integrated card. We're using Nagios at present and the check_megasasctl plugin seems to fit the bill. However, the plugin relies upon the existence of: /dev/megaraid_sas_ioctl_node This device node doesn't exist by default, you have to create it by hand using something like: mknod /dev/megaraid_sas_ioctl_node c 253 0 Now, to make the existence of this device node persistent across reboots, I thought I could write a udev rule, but as usual, I'm missing something. I thought I could create a file such as /etc/udev/rules.d/10-local/rules that contained: DRIVER=="megasas" NAME="megaraid_sas_ioctl_node" MODE="0600" But this doesn't work - no device node after a reboot. Dmesg output indicates the megasas driver is loaded and functional: megasas: 00.00.04.01-RH1 Thu July 10 09:41:51 PST 2008 megasas: 0x1000:0x0060:0x1028:0x1f0c: bus 1:slot 0:func 0 megasas: FW now in Ready state Further, I don't see any means to instruct udev on which type of device node to create: character or block. I suspect I'm failing to understand exactly how udev is meant to work. I realise I could just cheat and run MegaCLI in /etc/rc.local, redirecting output to /dev/null; it creates the megaraid_sas_ioctl_node device node as part of its execution. I just thought using udev rules would be a) cleaner and b) a useful learning exercise. Perhaps I should just dump the above mknod command in /etc/rc.local... So how do I get udev to create the /dev/megaraid_sas_ioctl_node device node based on the presence of the megasas driver? Cheers Steve

Creating a Jenkins build farm in a hands-off manner?

My colleague and I have set up and run Jenkins on a KVM guest running Ubuntu 12.04 with good results for a while now. We are thinking about deploying a cluster of Jenkins CI hosts in master/slave configuration, with the libvirt slave plugin to keep our hardware count low. Our environment is strictly Linux (CentOS, Scientific Linux, Fedora, and Ubuntu). Both of us are competent in setting up large clusters. We typically use tools like cobbler + a configuration management tool (Puppet, Chef, and alike) to set up a large number of machines (physical and/or virtual) hands off (hundreds of nodes in less than an hour typical). We would like to do the same for nodes running Jenkins. But the step by step guide doesn't give us any clues in this regard. I did see a Multi-slave config plugin. But, being used to dealing with hundreds or more machines completely hands-off, clicking the UI for many machines just doesn't feel right. Can someone point to us a reference that talks about how to set up large cluster of Jenkins CI hosts more in the hands-off way?

Vim: How to Install Airline?

I'm just getting started with Vim. It's a fun experience, but I've found it to be kind of overwhelming. I'm trying to get this plugin installed, vim-airline, but I'm having a lot of trouble. The Installation section on the Github page simply states: copy all of the files into your ~/.vim directory Presumably, this means download the .zip, extract it, and copy all of those files into ~/.vim/. I did this, but Vim just starts up like normal, and running :help airline just gives: Sorry, no help for airline I assume that this means it isn't getting installed. Also, the statusbar remains the same. I'm new to Vim and would really like to get this working. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I also tried putting the files into /usr/share/vim/vim73/. No dice. EDIT 2: I ran :helptags ~/.vim/doc and now the help-page displays when I type :help airline, but I'm still not getting the plugin itself (the status bar). Vim looks the same, but it can now display the help page.

Xubuntu stuck after login

How can I debug an issue with Xubuntu 12.04 (fresh install) which just waits idle after a login for about 30 seconds? The login screen is delayed correctly. After login, I get my desktop background, but no panels or auto-starting apps. It doesn't seem to be an authentication/pam issue, because I can login without delay at the console while the graphical session is still stuck. There's no disk or cpu activity and no obvious respawning of any process when I look at htop. There's nothing obviously wrong in .xsession-errors. Most interesting errors: openConnection: connect: No such file or directory cannot connect to brltty at :0 WARNING: gnome-keyring:: couldn't connect to: /tmp/keyring-wFn4VR/pkcs11: No such file or directory ... RabbitMQ Management console not working

I have started with RabbitMQ. I have a (windows) machine on which I installed two RabbitMQ nodes as a service - I have choose the nodename, port and service name for each of them. The services are running normally (i see that they are listening in a netstat-a). I have also installed management plugin with "rabbitmq-plugins enable rabbitmq_management" and restarted both services. But the plugin isn't running - I dont see it listening in a netstat and I can't connect to the management console via browser. Any idea what could be wrong? Is there any log to see what is goind on? Can't reach server without proxy (website down from my home)

I have a website hosted on Hostinger However I am experiencing problems with my wordpress site. This is really annoying. If I understood the situation right, The server is blocking me or denying access to my own website. When I visit the site with google chrome, it returns: Oops! Google Chrome could not find Same thing happens to firefox! Firefox can't find the server but when I do a check if my site is online and working through http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ it says that the site is working and up. Another thing, I access the website through a proxy, both on chrome and in firefox, and t works. Why is this? I have also recently installed the plugin Better Wp Security 5 days ago. Could the plugin have caused it? but I don't remember setting any IP's to be blocked. Also, this happens at random times, sometimes I can access it, sometimes it fails to reach the server. I am currently developing the site live. Was I blocked by the server for frequently refreshing the page? (duh, I'm a developer and I need to refresh to see changes.) or is this a problem with my ISP's DNS server? How can I resolve? and what are the possible fixes? Thanks in advance! -Jomar

Nginx and 1000 WordPress Installs - Optimization

Hey, I'm trying to create a rather unusual (imo) configuration where I have: nginx php-fastcgi mysql 1000 seperate WordPress installs (with WP Super Cache). Each WP install corresponds to a seperate subdomain. Furthermore, I have 1000 cron jobs being called every hour that in turn call a WP plugin (using wget) which retrieves data from an API and posts it to the respective blog. This is all being run on a virtual server with 1024MB of RAM, 4 shared processors, etc. The server is not doing well, especially during the times that the cron jobs are being executed. Nginx constantly throws 504 errors and the site has a significant lag. 1) Am I crazy for having 1000 individual WP installs? Should I be using WP-MU and will this help significantly? (I have certain plugin restrictions that I prefer having seperate installs but could switch if need be.) 2) Instead of having 1000 unique cron jobs - should be calling say a bash script that will then process the 1000 HTTP requests I need? Could this be done in a succesive order instead of a sequential one? 3) Any other kind of suggestion you may have for optimization? Should I be proxying to Apache instead of just using nginx, etc. Any kind of advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

MySQL InnoDB/socket issue on Mac OS X 10.6.4

I have an ongoing issue on my Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.4. Intermittently, my MySQL install will not create a socket on startup. Rebooting sometimes, but not always, solves the problem. Deleting the ib* files in /usr/local/mysql/data and then restarting sometimes, but not always, solves the problem. My error logs tell me the following: Plugin InnoDB init function returned error Plugin InnoDB registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed Can't start server: Bind on TCP/IP port: Address already in use Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306? Aborting It then appears to attempt to start again and generates this error 20 - 30 times: Unable to lock ./ibdata1, error 35 Check that you do not already have another mysqld process using the same InnoDB data or log files Though the socket file is not created, I can connect to my MySQL db directly over localhost. Although, this does not help me from a PHP standpoint. Any thoughts on what I can do to resolve the issue or debug further? I'm at a loss as to where to go from here.

I am setting up a spring mvc web application + hibernate jpa + maven from scratch using Eclipse Indigo. I am stuck in this error when doing a Maven build. Memory leak involving jQuery Ajax requests

I have a webpage that's leaking memory in both IE8 and Firefox; the memory usage displayed in the Windows Process Explorer just keeps growing over time. The following page requests the "unplanned.json" url, which is a static file that never changes (though I do set my Cache-control HTTP header to no-cache to make sure that the Ajax request always goes through). When it gets the results, it clears out an HTML table, loops over the json array it got back from the server, and dynamically adds a row to an HTML table for each entry in the array. Then it waits 2 seconds and repeats this process. So you can't give it a query like `$("#content tbody tr")` and expect it to remove all of the elements you've specified. Any element that you remove with it must have an `id` attribute. So if I want to remove my `tbody`, then I must assign an `id` to my `tbody` tag or else it will give an error. It removes the element itself and all of its descendants, so if you simply want to empty that element then you'll have to re-create it afterwards (or modify the plugin to empty instead of remove). In the plugin's documentation there's a section dedicated to pagination, although the demo example is not there, so i can't use it as a starting working point. Installing Paperclip - "undefined method `has_attached_file` for" - Ruby on Rails

I just installed the plugin for Paperclip and I am getting an error message "undefined method has_attached_file for. Not sure why I am getting this. Here is the full error message. NoMethodError (undefined method `has_attached_file' for #<Class:0x10338acd0>): /Users/bgadoci/.gem/ruby/1.8/gems/will_paginate-2.3.12/lib/will_paginate/finder.rb:170:in `method_missing' app/models/post.rb:2 app/controllers/posts_controller.rb:50:in `show' For some reason it is referencing the will_paginate gem. From what I can find, it seems that either there is something wrong w/ my PostsController#index or perhaps a previously attempt at installing the gem instead of the plugin (in which case I have read I should be able to remedy through the /config/environments.rb file somehow). I didn't think that previous gem installation would matter as I did it in an old version of the site that I trashed before installing the plugin. In the current version of the site I show that the Table has been updated with the Paperclip columns after migration. VS2010. Dropdownlist Autopostback works in IDE, not when deployed

I have a VS2010 RC ASP.NET web page,when a user changes the drop down selection on an auto postback dropdown, it refreshes a small grid and a few labels in various places on the page. I know wrapping a whole page in a big UpdatePanel control will cause horror from many of you, but that's what I did. I really didn't want a full page refresh and I didn't know how to update a table on the client side using Javascript and I figured it would be a big change. Suggestions for avoiding this are welcomed, but my main desire is to understand teh error I am getting. When I do the auto postbacks in the IDE, everything works fine, but if I deploy the code (IIS 5.5 on XP), the second auto postback works but the seconds one gives me his error. Ajax is one big nasty blackbox to me. Can someone help, please? H12 timeout error on Heroku

Can anyone shed some light on what's causing this timeout error on Heroku (at 2012-07-08T08:58:33+00:00)? The docs say that it's because of some long running process. I've set config.assets.initialize_on_precompile = false in config/application.rb. Where Firefox extensions store data?

I want to write plugin for GNOME Do, that will work with Firefox extensions data (for example, with URL Alias patterns). I have looked through files in my profile folder (~/.mozilla/firefox/.default/), but haven't found anything related. Can anybody help me?
