  • HELP! Free space not reclaimed after online resizing ext4 in Ubuntu 9.10

    My root partition was filling up, with only 500 mbs left, I wanted to resize my root partition from 20 Gb to 40Gb So I resized my partition by using these steps: Using Gparted to resize another partition to give space for the EXT4 Using fdisk, deleting the root partition (on /dev/sda2), and creating it again using the new size resize2fs /dev/sda2 Updating grub2 But now the problem is that although I can boot in my new partition and the new partition shows it is 40Gb, but the free size was still 500mb. So I booted from a LiveCD and checked with e2fsck -p /dev/sda2, it reported clean. So I added the -f flag (force check), still, the drive is full.

  • Unable to get to main screen and safe mode doesn't help.

    It is my friends computer so I am not very familiar with it, I am unable to get it to start. I can get to the logon screen but after entering the password there is an error (something to do with Roxio) and only the background loads. No Start menu, Taskbar or icons. If I boot it in safe mode it gets stuck on a black screen and don't even get the command prompt. I am confident that If I could get to the menu to edit startup programs then I could fix the problem... any Ideas?

  • MySQL takes forever after running certain php scripts... optimization help?

    When I run a couple scripts from the vBulletin software (like uninstalling a plugin) it takes forever. When monitoring the memory usage, it shows this = -/+ buffers/cache: 158 381 Swap: 255 10 245 It seems that MySQL is only using a certain amount and once it does it tries to use the swap instead? I have a 512MB slice and right now my key buffer is at 16M and max_allowed_packet is at 16M. Is there something else I should increase or can I increase those variables and still be safe? Thanks.

  • Powershell Foreach-Object with if statement not working - help!

    I have a batch file that takes a computer name as its argument and will install Java JRE on it remotely. Now, Im trying to run this Powershell script to repeatedly call the batch file and install Java on any system that it finds without the latest version. It seems to run error-free, but the statements inside the if code block never seem to run - even when the if conditional test evaluates to true. Can anyone look at this script and point out what I'm possibly missing? I'm using the Quest AD cmdlets, and BSOnPosh module.   • Help me convert my gaming headset plugs (mic & stereo sound) to a single 2.5mm monaural plug

    I have a seldom used piece of computer hardware I'd like to connect a gaming headset to. The headset has two 3.5mm plugs (mic and sound) like this: The jack I need to plug into is a 2.5mm monaural (don't ask me why--I know it sounds goofy but it's for someone else who's very picky). I googled a few different ways but I could only find splitters such as this for going from 2 x 3.5mm to 1 3.5mm. If I could find one that could combine it properly to 1 3.5mm, I could then find a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter. I know I could probably vivisect and work something out, but I need it to be very clean. Any ideas?

  • Computer won't start up. Stuck on Lenovo splash screen. Help Diagnose

    I have some (I'm not sure exactly what model) Lenovo 21" IdeaCentre. Honestly, the computer works off and on. I have had problems with it not being able to shutdown, which I fixed. The fan seems to be constantly running, a few other problems as well. Anyway, nobody was using it when all of a sudden it switched to a blue screen. I was in the kitchen, but when I got over to the computer I read the message. It said something about bad drivers, but that is all I saw and then it restarted. However, when it got to the Lenovo Splash screen, nothing happened. I waited there for over 10 minutes, but still nothing. I tried to turn of the computer, but the only way to do it was to pull out the power cable. I then removed all USB devices and tried again. Still nothing. It also won't respond to keyboard input when I try to use enter to interrupt normal startup. My guess is some piece of hardware is damaged inside the machine. However, I have no idea what piece it is. Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong with it? Thanks.

    Am running a PHP based web app on our Windows 2008 cloud-based server. The app, which runs fine outside of our environment (e.g. a different IIS server), but is VERY slow in our environment. Based on googling this is a relatively common situation. I installed PHP and MySQL via the IIS web deployment method... Here's our setup: Windows 2008 Server Enterprise SP2 (32-bit) Microsoft-IIS/7.0 MySQL client version: mysqlnd 5.0.8-dev - 20102224 $Revision: 321634 $ PHP extension: mysqli Update for IIS 7.0 FastCGI Windows Cache Extension 1.1 for PHP 5.3 I had read elsewhere that ipv6 might be an issue, so I turned this off on the network adapter. The app is using: localhost as its connection Be easy on me, as I'm a bit green about some of these components... Also, rewriting the PHP app or modifying it is NOT an option. I'm reasonably SURE that our config is the issue.

    I've a gigabyte GA-M720-US3 motherboard. Recently, I noticed the following during boot: IDE channel 0 Master (none) IDE channel 0 Slave (none) IDE channel 2 Master (my hdd) IDE channel 2 Slave (my dvd drive) IDE channel 3 Master (none) IDE channel 3 Slave (none) Of course, the same information is contained in the BIOS/CMOS. The HDD is connected to the mobo via a SATA(2?) cable at the port(?) labeled SATA2_0. The DVD drive is connected by a similar cable at SATA2_1. Why doesn't the information displayed during the boot and in BIOS reflect how I plugged the cables in? I mean, why "none" for channel 0 when there is something in SATA2_0. (or is that serious naivete on my part!?) Where's Channel 1 master and slave? Since these are SATA cables and not the IDE ribbons from a time ago, why the whole master/slave declaration during boot and in BIOS? Should my BIOS reflect the fact that these are SATA cables? I mean, in BIOS, should the "Onchip SATA mode IDE" be set to RAID or AHCI instead of IDE? Any replies, answers, suggestions, links, tips will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

[in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file?     27" iMac running win7 under bootcamp (slick! ). I have Access 2003 program with files linked through ODBC used by 4 installations (all with Access 2003 installed). I want to buy Access 2010 and try it under virtual PC (under Bootcamp). Will it work (since I have to install the ODBC drivers)? If I decide after this trial that I like what it does, can I then install it under the Windows 7 bootcamp partition (with or without uninstalling the virtual PC) without using up the 2nd allowed installation? Also, I see that MS allows an Office Pro 2010 trial download good for 60 days. Would this work in Windows 7 Virtual PC and would it be a better way to go, followed by a legitimate purchase of Access 2010 for the Windows 7? This is not an Access programming question--I realize there may be some tweaks necessary in the program to run it under 2010 and I can handle that part.

The scripts almost works, except for not waiting long enough to receive an IP (it cycles to next step in the until loop too quick).     I want to try mounting a folder with NFS - I set up the NFS sharing on a windows 2008 R2 server, specified hosts in the NFS permissions (by IP address) and mounted via /etc/fstab it mounts, but when I try to list the folder, I get 'input/output error' the owner/group on the local mount point look weird too? drwx------ 2 4294967294 4294967294 4096 2011-02-10 19:15 data/ I mounted in /etc/fstab as: 10.0.6.55:/share$ /media/data nfs soft,intr,rsize=8192,wsize=8192 What am I doing wrong?

I have written four classes: DataModel DataView DataController Main Main serves as the application facade. The main FLA is called HelloWorld. I have a symbol called "Box" in HelloWorld. I just would like to add an instance of the "Box" on the stage. Eventually I would like to place a button and when the button is clicked, the Box instance color will be changed.   • Excel Help: Fill Tool - Drag to the side (across columns) but increase the formula by Row Number.

    There are answers out there to this question, but all of them have been under explianed so hence to difficult to coprehend and use them to my advantage. I want to do the seemingly simple (but not) task of Draging a Formula (Filling a series) across Column's while increasing the formula row number relativley. For Example to drag this formula: | =A1 | =A2 | =A3 Some other notes, Transposing by copy paste has proven too difficult for the amount of data. Offset and Indirect has been used by other people to do this but I don't get how they work at all so when I attempt to use them I don't know how to format it to my range. Here's a example photo Idealy we want the dragged section to continue on to fill the formula.
