    With the example below, I need to add padding and background-color properties to the text anchor. I then need to exclude padding and background-color from anchors that contain images. <p> <a href="#">this is a text link that needs to be styled</a> <a href="#"><img src="image/name.jpg" alt="this needs to be excluded from styling" /></a> </p> If I have a red background and padding on my text links, I do not want that same red background and padding to appear on my linked images. The images will always be in their own anchors, not mixed with text within the same anchor. The rub is that I can not add classes or IDs to the img tags - I do not have edit control of that data. So how can I add CSS attributes to all anchors, while excluding anchors that contain images?

    Would it be considered best practice to use a single template that changes it's output based on script values, or have multiple templates, and use the view to pick the correct one instead? Should I instead have a normal mode, and an edit mode template, and use the attribute on the model to pick the template ? For background purposes, I am using backbone.js with underscore templates and an MVC3 backend.

The MANIFEST looks something like: SendMyEmail.pm SendMyEmail/defualt_email.tt Currently I know where the module (and the template) are - but does the module itself know where on disk it is? So could the module find the default template without my help? # This is what I would like to do. package SendMyEmail; sub new { my ($self, $template) = @_; $template ||= $dir_of_SendMyEmail .'/SendMyEmail/default_email.tt'; # ?? } Is there a better way of including a templates text, or a better place to put the template?   • Documentation style: how do you differentiate variable names from the rest of the text within a comm

    Hi, This is a quite superfluous and uninteresting question, I'm afraid, but I always wonder about this. When you're commenting code with inline comments (as opposed to comments that will appear in the generated documentation) and the name of a variable appears in the comment, how do you differentiate it from normal text? E.g.: // Try to parse type. parsedType = tryParse(type); In the comment, "type" is the name of the variable. Do you mark it in any way to signify that it's a symbol and not just part of the comment's text? I've seen things like this: // Try to parse "type". // Try to parse 'type'. // Try to parse *type*. // Try to parse <type>. // Try to parse [type]. And also: // Try to parse variable type. (I don't think the last one is very helpful; it's a bit confusing; you could think "variable" is an adjective there) Do you have any preference? I find that I need to use some kind of marker; otherwise the comments are sometimes ambiguous, or at least force you to reread them when you realise a particular word in the comment was actually the name of a variable. (In comments that will appear in the documentation I use the appropriate tags for the generator, of course: @code, <code></code>, etc) Thanks!

    Hello, I am developing a web application and want to allow user to select theme for his/her personalization. I want to know from where can i find free css theme templates? By theme i mean, same css templates and it should have same css class names referenced in css file, because then only i can load the css file and the whole look and feel gets changed in webpage. If the class names in css files are different then it's not easy. Only thing that should change is images and background color etc. But the layout and css classes should remain same. Suppose I have the following: <div id="helloDiv"> <input type="text" name="something" /><br /> <input type="checkbox" name="somethingElse" /><br /> <input type="submit" name="go" /> </div> div#helloDiv input { border: 1px solid red; } The problem with the above CSS rule is that it will affect ALL input fields not just input text but also radio buttons, submit buttons, etc. So is there a cross browser solution to affect just one type of input field within a div or other page element (without resorting to assigning the input fields styles individually).

Would it be possible with just using jquery? Or I should modify my html tree and add some attribute that would distinguish those elemenents with high padding value?

I keep staring at this code, looking for the typo, but I can't find it! template = 'emails/transporter_joined' tt = loader.get_template(template+'.txt') c = Context({'user':user, 'fee': settings.FEE * Decimal('100.00'),'settings':settings}) e = EmailMultiAlternatives('Activate Your Account', tt.render(c), '[email protected]', [user.email]) try: ht = loader.get_template(template+'.html') e.attach_alternative(ht.render(c), 'text/html') except: pass e.send() First it should load the 'emails/transporter_joined.txt' template, and adds that to the email. And then it tries to load a '.html' version and attaches that too. In Gmail you can see the the "original email" with both emails, and all the headers in plain text. It very clearly shows the .txt version twice. the .html and .txt files are definitely different. What am I doing wrong here? If I replace this tt = loader.get_template(template+'.txt') With .html instead, then it sends the .html twice... it must be Django that's screwing up, no?

    Is it possible to boot from an iso image file itself. Because when you burn it, it gets extracted. Because in linux you can just place the .iso file in a removable media and boot from it without extracting. Is it possible to make something like that in windows? They have something like this in pendrivelinux but I can't find it anymore. But that boot manager can only install linux. And other live cd's used in cleaning the system. That's why I'm asking if its possible to make a custom windows xp or windows 7 installer so that the image file alone can boot.

    I'm trying to run XPDF on a linux (probably red hat) OVH shared server. I've managed to have ftp ssh access and put the 64 bits binaries onto a folder. The problem is : even though the files are there with the right permissions, if I try running it I'm getting a file not found problem (I'm thinking about a missing link..)   • What would prevent a .BAT file from being run on a mapped drive?

    In WinXP SP3, I have a .BAT file on a mapped drive. When I try to run this .BAT file (or even right click-edit) it gives me: --------------------------- Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- This happens with any .BAT file, no matter what is within the file. If the file is on my local computer (like C:) it will run just fine. If someone else runs it from another computer (on the same mapped drive), it runs just fine. I have full permissions on the drive; I can edit/delete/save/write/create in that folder and/or .BAT file and I've ruled out permissions being the issue. It seems like a security prevention, but I can't tell what it would be. It would have to be something on my PC, but I don't use any 3rd party software. What would cause this error?

    I try to transfer a file from SSIS package to a FTP server provided by my client. When I try connecting and transfer using a FTP tool (WinSCP) manually it works fine and file was transferred. But when i use the ftp command in command prompt and try to transfer using "send" command i get an error "553 could not create file". This also happens from SSIS package. I'm not in control of the FTP server but if anyone can provide a solution I can pass it to the admin or anything to be done from my end?

  • Why isn't pyinstaller making me an .exe file?

    I am attempting to follow this guide to make a simple Hello World script into an .exe file. I have Windows Vista with an AMD 64-bit processor I have installed Python 2.6.5 (Windows AMD64 version) I have set the PATH (if that's the right word) so that the command line recognizes Python I have installed UPX (there only seems to be a 32-bit version for Windows) and pasted a copy of upx.exe into the Python26 folder as instructed. I have installed Pywin (Windows AMD 64 Python 2.6 version) I have run Pyinstaller's Configure.py. It gives some error messages but seems to complete.   • How do you update table row background color in IE using Javascript/CSS ?

    I have a table that i want to "highlight" during onmouseover/onmouseout. I already know this is required in IE but not in other browsers. I have managed to detect the events triggering and this TR tag effectively works. (Note that the originating class "contentTableRow" doesn't seem to be causing any issues.) class="contentTableRow" onclick="openForm('SomeID');" onmouseover="highlight('someRowID', true);" onmouseout="highlight('someRowID', false);" id="someRowID" All is fine and dandy, the "highlight" function fires and actually sets the appropriate class. It's just that IE won't process the CSS class name change. Here is a snippet of the CSS I am using to make the change. .HighlightOn { cursor:pointer; background-color: #D1DFFF; } .HighlightOff { background-color: #E1EEFE; } I can see that the Class names are getting updated when I debug it, and also check it in Firebug. But it seems that IE doesn't like this usage of classes with a TR tag.. Is it the way I am structuring the class for Tables ? Any advice ?

    So, in upgrading to Firefox 3.6, the CSS broke on input boxes. The padding has increased -- it might also be the font-size is somehow behaving different. Wondering if anyone else has seen this problem yet. Can't quite figure it out. HTML CODE: <form> <fieldset> <label for="inputField">Label</label> <input type="text" id="inputField" /> </fieldset> </form> CSS CODE: form fieldset label { display:block; font-size:1.2em; font-weight:bold; padding:12px 9px; } #jumptoBox fieldset input { background: url("../images/input.png") no-repeat scroll left top transparent; font-size: 1.2em; padding: 4px 5px 16px; width: 99px; height: 29px; } (Image dimensions: 109 width x 34 height) So one thing to note, the fix (as outlined below) includes removing the height, or at least setting it to auto, and then compensating for it by using padding (a fix that bothers me on many levels, but we'll set that aside for now). BUT webkit seems to have its own problems with this now, since it wants to center the text vertically (ignoring any evidence of line-height) according to the height of everything.
