When inserting a text box using the developer tab in Word 2007, by default the inserted text box says "Click here to enter text".
How can I change this to something different?
Thanks.
In web browsers you can drag the tabs to change the order. But I can't do that in Foxit Reader (version 3.1.4.1125, using Windows Vista Home, Chinese Traditional)
Example: I open 3 files:
Page2.pdf
Page3.pdf
Page1.pdf
which opens Foxit Reader with a tab for each file, in the order
Page2.pdf Page3.pdf Page1.pdf
Is there a way to change the order of the tabs to
Page1.pdf Page2.pdf Page3.pdf
?
This would really be helpful when you have many files open...
TIA!
Harold
I pressed Ctrl + Alt + t while having Chrome open to open a terminal in my Chromebook. How do I paste content into this terminal copied from another tab in Chrome?
I have tried Ctrl + v to no avail. I have also tried highlighting text and pasting it via the middle button on my mouse, which failed too.
I have also read this article (http://www.servercobra.com/nothing-but-chromebook-for-a-week/) and tried triple clicking my touch pad, but it isn't working for me.
Whenever I open IE8, or a new tab in IE8, AVG will prompt a warning about thunder.dll as posing a threat and says that it is a trojan horse.
The file is located at: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\thunder.dll
Is this something I should be worried about? What should I do?
I am using Windows 7 64bit with Internet Explorer 8.
Go the new FF12 and I hit the "Inspect Element (Q)", i'm use to hitting "Inspect" and getting FireBug, now i get the FF inspection tool. It looks nice, but how do i turn it off?
Not disable it, but stop inspecting the current page?
I have to close the tab, when working on a large web application, have to sign back in and re-setup everything i was testing to get back to a normal view. Big waste of time.
I recently switched from gnome terminal to urxvt (and installed tabbed extensions). I am also a heavy emacs user which uses a lot of key combinations similar to urxvt (tab related stuff) like Shift-Left and Shift-Right. These key-combinations are set for selecting text in emacs.
Is there a way to map ALT-1, ALT-2, ALT-3 for tabs 1, 2, 3 ..?
Is there an extension to do that ? Can it be achieved through the ~/.Xdefaults file ?
Lately, I've been opening up several terminals at a time. Having to alt-tab between terminals is confusing. I need something that combines several terminals in just one window. What are good alternatives?
Edit: I don't like tabs. I want consoles in 2x2 grid arrangement in one window.
Something went wrong while I was attempting to restore a backup, and KDE System Guard ceased to display properly.
This is the correct display (command running from root: kdesudo ksysguard):
This is the incorrect display (command: ksysguard):
Here in the incorrect display, the menu bar is missing, and the tab "Process Table" is unclickable.
I have already tried to remove the directory ~/.kde/share/apps/ksysguard/ but to no avail.
My question: How do I restore KSysGuard back to factory defaults/normal functionality?
On Windows Server 2008, is there an easy way to modify security permissions for multiple files at once (as with Windows Server 2003)? Right-click menu - properties does not provide a "Security" tab if more than one file/directory is selected (i.e. ctrl-click multiple files).
Is there really a valid security reason for changing this in Windows Server 2008?
This is obviously really simple, but not if you don't know the answer :)
I'm doing this in my .zsh
PATH="~/scripts:$PATH"
and if I do echo $PATH it appears as the first thing in the path. Yet this directory isn't included in the executable path (nor for tab-completion). What am I doing wrong? ls ~/scripts shows the directory as expected.
My system is Ubuntu 9.04.
There is NetworkManager applet, but it looks like there are no networks. When I click it, there is disabled menu "Wired Network/device not managed". I have working eth0 interface, internet is working fine and I can see eth0 in ifconfig
When I right-click and choose "Edit connections", there is only "Auto vboxnet0" under "Wired" tab. No "eth0".
It shouldn't be a problem, but I cannot connect to VPN because of this :(
Is there a Firefox add-on that will allow someone to easily open up a page in a new tab or window so it will not share cookies and other session information with other windows?
Basically, I want to be able to run Facebook, GMail, Google Search, etc, in separate sandboxes using different accounts.
I recall seeing a blog posting about an add-on that did this without forcing you to set up different Firefox profiles, but I can't remember where I saw it or what it was called.
I like Google Chrome because it is fast but I don't like using the arrow keys in the location bar to complete URLs. Is there any extension, or setting I'm missing, that allows me to use the Tab key (or other customizable key) for completion like in Firefox?
I am an Emacs user and am aware of Conkeror. I just wanted to give Google Chrome a fair chance.
Edit: I'm using version 4.0.266.0 on Linux.
An app on a Mac that automatically launches on boot and I don't want it to. The app itself offers no way to prevent this. Rather than identify the app, I figured it would be nice to use this question as an opportunity to identify all the places such an app could hide.
Here's where I've looked so far, and I still haven't found it:
Accounts - Login Items
Dock - Open at Login
launchd - Cycled through each tab of agents & daemons in Lingon
Other ideas?

Edit: This works, though... I guess ~ doesn't work in the path?
#PATH="~/scripts:$PATH"
PATH="/Users/yar/scripts:$PATH"
We use "Copy file.prn to \tsclient\com1" to print from a TS session to a locally attached serial printer.
This works fine from Windows XP, but when trying it from a Windows 7 client computer, we get an "Access is denied" error message.
And yes, the check box of COM port is selected on the Local Resources tab of the Remote Desktop Connection client.
Any pointers? Has anyone even managed to do this successfully?
Java works under Firefox but not under IE.
Java applet activated in security settings, activated in add-ons, activated in advanced tab; that's the advice they usually give in forums... I've also deleted my temporary internet files, reinstalled IE8 and it is also set as the default java for IE through the control panel.
IE version:
8.0.6001.18702
Java version: 1.7.0_03.
Windows XP SP3.
Any advice? Thanks :)
Hi,
I am using MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.5). On the status bar, check I click the Wireless icon, it said 'Open Network Preferences'
And then in the Network Preference, I click 'AirPort' tab, the status said 'Inactive' But the 'Turn AirPort on' is disabled and the Network Name is disabled as well.
I have unlocked the preference pane as well.
So how can I turn on Airport?
Thank you.
Ever since installing Lotus Notes on my mac I haven't been able to properly access it from the dock.
If the program is off then it will open up fine the first time but then clicking on the icon will not make Notes jump to the front of the screen.
It is only a minor thing but as it is the only program on my dock that I need to CMD-Tab to access it gets pretty annoying!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Notes version - 8.5.1
Mac OS X version - 10.6.2

I have added some advanced properties into my Microsoft Word 2007 document. These were created by doing the following:
Click the Office button - Prepare - Properties. Under the Document Properties drop-down menu, select Advanced Properties. In the Custom tab, add properties as needed.
My question is how do you insert these custom properties into the Word document so that they are in text form and gets updated when you update the properties in that one spot?
Thank you!
I'm using Fluid to handle Gmail, and I'd like to also use the same instance for Wave in another tab. How do I get it to open both Gmail and Wave when the application initially opens. I tried using | as a delimiter in the homepage field like Firefox uses, but it didn't work.
On one of our IIS web servers the IUSR account suddenly expired or got corrupted, I recovered the password from the IIS metabase (using Cscript adsutil.vbs get w3svc\anonymoususerpass after switching IsSecureProperty = False).
I then reset the password accordingly. Now I have to re-key that password on the Directory Security tab of all virtual directories (for the anonymous account) of all web sites on that server.
Is there a way to automate this using Powershell? (I have searched so far in vain)
