• Issues with taglibs while using jasmine-maven-plugin to test dojo widgets with templates

  I am using jasmine-maven-plugin to run javascript unit tests for my dojo widgets. One of my dojo widgets refers to a html template jsp file with taglibs. When I initialize my dojo widgets, I get the following error: Error: Invalid template: <%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/security/tags" prefix="sec"% The plugin uses jetty to deploy the scripts to test. I tried including jstl jar into the WEB-INF folder but it doesn't work. I am assuming it's just not DOJO and this taglib issue can occur even with simple js file. I am looking for some clue on why taglibs are not recognized here. If I remove the taglib entries, my tests just work fine.

• Building FFmpeg for Android

  I've spent almost a week on this now, trying to get FFmpeg "Angel" to build for Android. I've tried build scripts from all over the internet to no avail. I got closest was using this. A sthe author himself says the script doesn't work for newer versions of FFmpeg due to this bug, which has been dismissed on that ticket saying "I found a Makefile that does it." This was dis-heartening, being the only post on all of the cast Google world that was anywhere close to my problem. So, question time: Is there a way to get around the above bug? I'm trying to use the newest ffmpeg API, and "Love" is just giving me "undefined reference" errors while trying to use av_encode_video2(), and av_free_frame(). The code I was working on the lines of is at the ffmpeg git repo, under /doc/examples/decoding_encoding.c (the function starting on line 338)

• execute javascript before return in php

  I do have a custom php script that validates captcha code and sends an email. If php script is sending a mail successfully then it returns "true". This is done by: if(!$Error){ echo "true"; exit; } Before returning true, I would like to execute a jQuery command that should refresh the captcha image. I shouldn't be doing this is client side as it might be risky from spammers point of view. To refresh the captcha image, The command is: jQuery('#captcha').attr('src', ('php/captcha/captchaimage_show.php?' + Math.random())); I need to call this command from within php scripts before return any results by "echo" Prashant

• Versioning CommonAssemblyInfo.cs and MSBuild

  So I have a CommonAssemblyInfo.cs linked into all the projects in my solution and is dynamically generated by my rake/albacore scripts which is not checked into source control. I also have a CommonAssemblyInfo.cs.local for use when there is no ruby available, mainly to be used by devs. Is it possible to have a msbuild task or something that runs before any of the other project compilation that will copy CommonAssemblyInfo.cs.local to CommonAssemblyInfo.cs before trying to compile my solution? I hate having to have a command you have to just know about and type in order to open and buidl the solution in Visual Studio.

• Client / Server security from mobile to website

  Hey. Am new to the world of web programming and learning a bunch of fairly simple new pieces of tech, trying to piece them all together. So, we have a simple client (currently iPhone, to move to J2ME soon) that's pulling down lists of data via PHP, which is talking to a MySQL db. I have a rudimentary user/login system so that data is only served to someone who matches a known user etc, either on the website or on the client. All the php scripts on the website that query the DB check to make sure an active session is in place, otherwise dumping the user back to the login screen. I've read a little about SSL and want to know if that is sufficient to protect the website AND the data passing between the server and the client?

• What is the Perl equivalent to C's #include? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: How do I include functions from another file in my Perl script? I have a couple simple perl scripts that share some subroutines. I'd like to pull those subroutines out into another file, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. All I need is an equivalent to C's #include. I found a couple things online about creating modules, but that seems like overkill for what I'm doing. Is there a way to just tell perl to load/execute another perl script inline, so it's treated as if it's just part of the file (like #include in C)?

• AngularJs not working with dynamic html

  In my cshtml file I have a form named 'ApplyMedicalMain' and I want to show a dynamically loaded division when the form is dirty but its not happening even though the form is dirty ...   Hello, I need to find a very compact, cross-platform web server that can run Lua scripts, ie. either a regular web server like Mongoose that will forward queries to a Lua program in eg. FastCGI, or a web server itself written in Lua which will save the need to provide a separate web server.   So using Google Apps Scripts with a Form, I'm able to get all the items and iterate through them using the following: var form = FormApp.getActiveForm(); var items = form.getItems(); var item; for(var i = 0; i < items.length; i++) { item = items[i]; if(item.getType() == FormApp.ItemType.DATE) { item = item.asDateItem(); item.dropdown.month; // I need a method like this } Logger.log("ItemTitle: %s ItemType: %s",items[i].getTitle(), items[i].getType()) ; } I can even get the DateItem that I want. My issue is that I cannot get the dropdown boxes from the DateItem. Does anyone know how to get the dropdown boxes from the DateItem? (Like: item.dropdown.month or item.dropdown.day, etc).

  Hi, I'm starting new website and gonna include several JS libs and would like to know how .htaccess file template should look like with caching of media and JS files on? Whats better for compression, GZip or Deflate? Is it better/faster solution to serve those JS libs of the Google CDN perhaps then locally? I'm asking CDN question since some of scripts served off GoogleCDN are potentially going to update and eventually break the website layout so i thought it would be better for me to host them locally and cache via webserver if its going to work with same/near-same speed.

  This is the PATH variable without sudo: $ echo 'echo $PATH' | sh /opt/local/ruby/bin:/usr/bin:/bin This is the PATH variable with sudo: $echo 'echo $PATH' | sudo sh /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin As far as I can tell, sudo is supposed to leave PATH untouched. What's going on? How do I change this? (This is on Ubuntu 8.04). UPDATE: as far as I can see, none of the scripts started as root change PATH in any way. From man sudo: To prevent command spoofing, sudo checks ``.'' and ``'' (both denoting current directory) last when searching for a command in the user's PATH (if one or both are in the PATH). Note, however, that the actual PATH environment variable is not modified and is passed unchanged to the program that sudo executes.

  Hi, I need to create a handover document for a fairly large system consisting of all the stuff you'd expect from a telecom deployment: many servers, database clusters which copy some data between them in specific ways, tons of log files, both off-the-shelf and locally developed software, scripts, network configurations, local know-how, etc. It's really got as many sysadmin-typical elements, as development ones. The target of this document are in the first place sysadmins who take over the day-to-day operation tasks and some problem resolving, and in the second place people who want to learn about the system in general. Is there some place I can learn about how to write something like that? It could just as easily be a 10 page "what's where", as a 500 pages book about "all things telephony". Maybe it should be more than one document really. Please link some useful resources / books I could use for this task. PS: this is intended to be internal only, customer interactions etc. are out of scope here

• Does anyone actually use the phrase DHTML anymore?

  I'm not sure if this is exactly appropriate but I have what I think is a interesting question. Does anyone actually use the phrase DHTML anymore in a professional environment? I came across the the word the other day for the first time in years and shuddered at the thought of it. To me the acronym Dynamic HTML just sounds so 1999, it brings me back to the days when I first discovered programming and web development and thought it was awesome to have scripts which modified the status bar and made things fly around the page. I for one have never used the phrase recently and would never dream of saying it in a professional environment to clients or colleges as I feel there is an amateur and dated stigma attached to it. What are your thoughts?

• Using T-Sql, how can I insert from one table on a remote server into another table on my local server?

  Given the remote server 'Production' (currently accessible via an IP) and the local database 'Development', how can I run an INSERT into 'Development' from 'Production' using T-SQL? I'm using MS SQL 2005 and the table structures are a lot different between the two databases hence the need for me to manually write some migration scripts. UPDATE: T-SQL really isn't my bag.   Hi, I have a file where I keep all scripts so my pages wouldn't get messy (I have php file which generates required javascript). My includes basically look like this: </html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="script.php"></script> </head> <body> <input type="button" onClick="return blah();" /> </body> </html> In script.php there's jquery wrapper $(document).ready where I keep all jquery related stuff. The funny thing is, when I put function blah() inside this wrapper I get "blah is not defined" error, but when I put it outside - works perfectly. So, what could be the problem?

• Embedding Python in C: Having problems importin local modules

  I'm needing to run Python scripts within a C-based app. I am able to import standard modules from the Python libraries i.e.: PyRun_SimpleString("import sys") But when I try to import a local module 'can' PyRun_SimpleString("import can") returns the error msg: Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in ImportError: No module named can When I type the command "import can" in iPython, the system is able to find it. How can I link my app with can? I've tried setting PYTHONPATH to my working directory. Thanks.

  I have a general question about the design of JavaScript Libraries. I am trying to consolidate common methods into one js file so they can be reused by different scripts. I have taken a look at how the JSON library is structured and believe it was a good approach. JSON for Javascript. So they start off creating an instance of the class: if (!this.JSON) { this.JSON = {}; } Then they do this: (function () { if (typeof JSON.stringify !== 'function') { JSON.stringify = function (value, replacer, space) { This is works perfect if you just want to do JSON.[function_name], but what if I want to have a more structured library such that I want: JSON.[subgroup].[function]. How would I structure my JS library in such a way? Any links to resources are greatly appreciated, thanks.

• How do you manage your sqlserver database projects for new builds and migrations?

  How do you manage your sql server database build/deploy/migrate for visual studio projects? We have a product that includes a reasonable database part (~100 tables, ~500 procs/functions/views), so we need to be able to deploy new databases of the current version as well as upgrade older databases up to the current version. Currently we maintain separate scripts for creation of new databases and migration between versions. Clearly not ideal, but how is anyone else dealing with this? This is complicated for us by having many customers who each have their own db instance, rather than say just having dev/test/live instances on our own web servers, but the processes around managing dev/test/live for others must be similar.

• Calling software modules (Java, Perl, etc.) from R

  I've recently started using R for Natural Language Processing tasks and find that a lot of applications are available in Java and Perl (for my purposes). For example: A few perl modules are available to find distance measures between words by querying Wordnet. I am aware of the R Wordnet package, but it does not perform the tasks that these CPAN modules do. Many Java packages for NLP are out there, which I'd like to use from within R. I know of rJava, RSPerl, the simple system command amongst others, but I'd like more examples of how I could make calls to Java and Perl applications from R. Recently I tried capturing console output from a perl script. cat( 'print "Hello World\n";',file="hello.pl" ) system(command="c:\Perl64\bin\perl hello.pl") system(command=paste(Sys.getenv("COMSPEC"),"/c","C:\Perl64\bin\perl hello.pl")) None of the above system commands showed 'Hello World' on the R console. I've used "system" before to run perl scripts to perform tasks without wanting to capture console output. Any hints and redirection to other more extensive sources of information would be highly appreciated. Thank you

• F# script to application

  I have written two small scripts, First one maintains a dictionary of current stock prices for a set of securities. I am using recursion to listen to a named pipe. Whenever there is something available on the name pipe, it updates the security price and goes right back and start listening to the pipe. The second one periodically reads the stock price of some security from the price cache of the first program and performs come calculation. But I have no idea how to make these two programs communicate. I somehow need to make my second programs start the first program and let it run in the background and get the price whenever it needs it. Can someone point me in the right direction? • Accessing contents of a file in a web-application without uploading.

  As far as I can tell, it is impossible to access the content of files on the user's computer in a web application without first uploading to the server, then re-downloading to user, unless some sort of plug-in is used. (Flash, etc.) Ideally, the user would upload the file directly to localstorage and then scripts would have a chance to process/display/validate/filter without the user having to wait on an upload. Are there any features in upcoming web standards such as html5 that will allow this? If not, why has there been no effort to make this possible, and how can I work around it without getting stuck with plugins?

Are there any scripts or IDE wizards which can assist a programmer to create php forms quickly and also give the programmer flexibility to customize the form easily? I found some webservices which provide such services but they are mostly oriented towards non-programmers and the forms they generate are not easily customizable and do not support all kinds of functionalities. • SQL Compare-Like tool for Oracle?

  We're a .NET team which uses the Oracle DB for a lot of reasons that I won't get into. But deployment has been a bitch. We are manually keeping track of all the changes to the schema in each version, by keeping a record of all the scripts that we run during development. Now, if a developer forgets to check-in his script to the source control after he ran it - which is not that rare - at the end of the iteration we get a great big headache. I hear that SQL Compare by Red-Gate might solve these kind of issues, but it only has SQL Server support. Anybody knows of a similar tool for Oracle? I've been unable to find one.

• Zend Framework Autoloader question.

  In zend framework I register my namespace like this (in application.php): 'autoloaderNamespaces' => array( 'Cms_' ) And after this - I'd expect that Zend would always check that path in addition to Zend and ZendX paths if unknown class is called. But for some reason this doesn't work with for example view helpers. I still have to register a separate path for my view helpers even though view helper scripts are named according to Zend coding standards and are located in: Cms/View/Helper/ And this is how I register helper path in config file: view' => array( 'charset' => 'UTF-8', 'doctype' => 'XHTML1_TRANSITIONAL', 'helperPath' => array( 'Cms_View_Helper_' => 'Cms/View/Helper' ) ), So - I'm not sure why I have to register "Cms" namespace twice first through 'autoloaderNamespaces' and then through View "helperPath"? Shouldn't Cms namespace include Cms/View/Helper namespace? can someone plz clarify this:)
