  • PHP: How do I install soap extension?

    Ok. I am just starting to use soap and my first problem is installing it. I got this error: Fatal error: Class 'SoapClient' not found in /home/user/mysite.com/path/to/file.php on line 16 I am hosting my site in DreamHost and ask the guys there. But they told me that they don't support any third-party installation. Does anyone has the same problem and manage to solved it? Thansk!

    There's a game on my laptop called 'Chess Titans' which I've been playing one game a day for almost 90 days. With the difficulty on the hardest setting I have not been able to win one game, however, I have come close. What's the fun in playing a chess game if the computer can search all moves and win? Has (or can) anyone beat a modern computer chess AI? What games can't a computer gain an advantage in? (i.e. They would be 'fun' to play.)

    I'm using json2.js to create a JSON object which JQUERY posts to the Server. The object looks like: [{"locationID":"16","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"111","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"12","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"11","locationDesc":"XXXX"}] Problem here is that XXXX sometimes contains quotes like "we're'" etc.... How should I handle this? Do you I escape somewhere or encode in some way? Thanks

    Hi everyone, A friend of mine is a Java developer, who's using *NIX for ages. He claims that *NIX is for real Java geeks, whereas WIN is for dummies (and I'm one of them, according to him) and girls. When I ask him to argue his position, and explain, what's so good for Java developer on *NIX, he starts talking about console, wget, curl and grep. But sorry, wget and curl analogues exist for the WIN platform as well. As for the console - I'm using FAR Commander, and have access to the command line when I need. Moreover, even if I decide moving to *NIX, I will certainly use Netbeans or Eclipse on it, so there will be no big difference. Guys, who use Java on *NIX, could you please give me some real killer examples, when *NIX (any util or technique) dramatically increases Java development productivity (in the way the hints are given in "The Pragmatic Programmer"), or, which is also important, gives more fun from the process.     We are in the process of switching from the C# Guid.NewGuid() random-ish guid generator to the sequential guid algorithm suggested in this post. While this seems to work well for MS SQL Server, I am unsure about the implications for Oracle databases, in which we store guids in a raw(16) field. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this algorithm would be good for creating sequential guids for Oracle as well as for MS SQL Server, or if a different variant should be used. Thanks!

    A z buffer is just a 3d array that shows what object should be written in front of another object. each element in the array represents a pixel that holds a value from 0.0 to 1.0. My question is if that is all a z buffer does, then why are some buffers 24bit, 32bit, and 16 bit ??

    So I have a FAT drive, lets say H: and a directory 'work' (full path 'H:\work'). I need to get the NUMBER of the first cluster of that directory. The number of the first cluster is 2-bytes value, that is stored in the 26th and 27th bytes of the folder enty (wich is 32 bytes). Lets say I am doing it with file, NOT a directory.   • Can't destroy record in many-to-many relationship

    I'm new to Rails, so I'm sure I've made a simple mistake. I've set up a many-to-many relationship between two models: User and Group. They're connected through the junction model GroupMember. Here are my models (removed irrelevant stuff): class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :group_members has_many :groups, :through => :group_members end class GroupMember < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :group belongs_to :user end class Group < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :group_members has_many :users, :through => :group_members end The table for GroupMembers contains additional information about the relationship, so I didn't use has_and_belongs_to_many (as per the Rails "Active Record Associations" guide). The problem I'm having is that I can't destroy a GroupMember.     I have a table t with a column c, which is an int and has a btree index on it. Why does the following query not utilize this index? explain select c from t group by c; The result I get is: HashAggregate (cost=1005817.55..1005817.71 rows=16 width=4) -> Seq Scan on t (cost=0.00..946059.84 rows=23903084 width=4) My understanding of indexes is limited, but I thought such queries were the purpose of indexes.

    Problem: I want my unicode characters to be stored on disk as (rather tan utf8/16 encoding) \u#### However, I want them dispalyed as unicode characters when opened up in vim. I think the easiest way to acheive this is some bufopen/bufwrite script that automatically: on opening, convert \u#### to unicode character on writing, convert unicode characters into \u#### However, I don't know what functions to call to make this happen.     I would need some help on how to optimize the query. select * from transaction where id < 7500001 order by id desc limit 16 when i do an explain plan on this - the type is "range" and rows is "7500000" According to the some online reference's this is explained as, it took the query 7,500,000 rows to scan and get the data. Is there any way i can optimize so it uses less rows to scan and get the data. Also, id is the primary key column.

  • Problem with running a program from flashdrive

    I have a USB drive with two partitions in it, one hidden and one normal. I have an application which swaps the memory and runs the flash application in hidden zone. The problem is that the application works fine on Windows 7 and when run on Win XP, it swaps the partitions but doesn't run the flash applications but just keeps running in the background. I can see it in task manager. But, when I copy the application to desktop and run, it runs with no glitch. I was facing the same problem on Win 7 too, but it was running as required when I ran it using "Run in XP mode" and then I applied a SHIM and is running since then as required. The application is built using VC++ 2008. What might be the problem?

Do you agree with that? What would be your choice, if you need to store 4-16 Gb of data arrays in memory during calculation?
