    I have a website with several languages in a database. From the database I use ResXResourceWriter to create my .resx files.   • Webservice Connection Refused

    I have developed a web app using a webservice. Everything works fine in the development environment. I have moved the webservice to the production server in a test folder behind my main website. I can browse to the published service localy on the production server and i can access the remote service from my development machine. If I run my web app in my development environment I can use the remote webservice no problem. If I move the web application to the production environment the browser outputs this error when the application performs the ajax login method. The following javascript error is output to the browser Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server.   • Video/audio streaming does not stop even if UIWebView is closed - iPad

    Hi I see this issue only on the iPad. The same things works as expected on the iPhone. I am opening the URL from my application in a UIWebView. If the URL is a normal web page, it works fine as expected. But if the URL is that of a remote video/audio file, the UIWebView opens the default player which is again good. Now when I dismiss the UIWebView (by clicking on the Done button on the player), the streaming doesn't stop and the audio/video keeps playing in the background (I cannot see it but it does keep playing in the background, can hear it). The UIViewController in which the webview was created is also dealloced (I put in a log statement in the dealloc method) but the streaming doesn't stop. Can someone please help me out on why this could be happening? And how can I stop the audio/video streaming when the UIWebView is closed? Thanks.

I have heard that the Xandros distro that comes with the net-book isn't that great (lack of software, etc.), but I wonder what all the SuperUsers out there think. Also silent hunter and flight sim. I also browse the internet download stuff like, watch movies occasionally type documents with word, edit videos, and transfer files. To be more specific is the hdd big enough? is the ram big enough? I simply added the service by right clicking project, selecting add service reference, giving WSDL url for the service and clicking OK.(After clicking ok asked for credentials and i provided them) Then when i tried to call a method from the serviceclien object i got the error message below: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'.     Possible Duplicate: What’s your favorite ticketing system? I was wondering if somebody could recommend me a very user friendly or simple general purpose ticketing/tech support system. I need something that is web based, preferably open-sourced/free software implemented using PHP, Ruby, Ruby on Rails or Java (as back end) with MySQL or PostgreSQL as database engine. I need something that is not development management oriented or project management oriented like Eventum or similar (random example), something to which the user can connect open a tech support request and be able to follow it until is solved or dropped.I need it to be open-sourced to be able to modify it if there is a need or extend it. I tried a number of such systems available and I found that osTicket or eTicket is something that it's close to what I need, but the code is somewhat flaky and some of the features are working badly or behaving strangely.     FOR RE-OPENING: I don’t see how it is “too localized”. Plenty of people like to run their own web-apps instead of relying on third-party services. If that were not true, then WordPress, phpBB, Apache, PHP, etc. would not be available for general use. As for “Internet audience at large”, I must have missed the part where it was a rule that you are only allowed to ask for help for things that applies to everyone else too; I thought you were allowed to ask for help. (Besides, the reason that I was asking was because Google had announced that it was discontinuing FTP support for Blogger and so many people were affected—read NOT TOO LOCALIZED—and were trying to find alternatives.) Hi, I am trying to find software (for Windows, PHP, MySQL/SQLite/flat, free, open-source) to localize all of my software and service so that I can keep my files and host when needed from my own system instead of some remote computer. I’ve already selected things like web, FTP, and db servers. I’ve chosen forum and wiki software, as well as an RCS system. At this point, all I’m still looking for—actually, I still need to choose bug-tracking software, but besides that—is blogging software. I still use Blogger and am trying to find something that I can use to import my Blogger stuff and store on (and publish to) my home system. The problem is that I am trying to find something that is like Blogger (which from what I can tell is not available on Google Code as open-source). What I specifically need is multiple-blog support. That is, multiple blogs ala the Blogger Dashboard, not multiple user accounts (although that is important as well). The closest thing that I have been able to find is using Wordpress categories to simulate multiple blogs, but that’s not really what I want.     hi i have an iphone 2g firmware 3.1.3 ifone is jailbroken have install0us and appcake on it. i have downloaded tunein radio version 1.4 from apptrckr. it installed fine but i cannot open it. i wuold click on it, it would start i mean for like 1 second, then just close. i dont know whats wrong with it. can some please help me. i have kill sb on it, which restarts the spring board. i tried turning it off n back on again. deleted and re-installed. deleted it and turnt ifone off and back on, then re-installed it. it doesn't seem 2 work at all. any one know what 2 do. mind it is a cracked app. thankz..!!

  • An alternative to Google Talk, AIM, MSN, et al [closed]

    I'm not entirely sure whether this part of stack exchange is the most adequate for my question, but it would seem to me that people sharing this kind of concern would converge either here, or possibly on a more unix-specific sub site. Either way, here goes. Background Feel free to skip to The Question, below. This should, however, help those interested understand where I'm coming from, and where I expect to get, messaging-wise. My online talking place-to-go has been IRC for the last fifteen years. I think it's a great protocol, and clients out there are very good. I still use, and will always continue to use IRC for most of my chat needs. But then, there is private instant messaging. While IRC can solve this with queries and DCC chats, the protocol just isn't meant to work too well on intermittent connections, such as a mobile device, where you can often walk around places with low signal. I used MSN for a while, but didn't like it. The concept was awesome, but I think Microsoft didn't get the implementation quite right. When they started adding all that eye candy, and my buddies started flooding me with custom icons and buzzing my screen to it's knees, I shut my account and told folks that missed me to just email or call me. Much whining happened, I got called many weird things for not using MSN, but folks eventually got over it. Next, Google Talk came along, and seemed to be a lot better than MSN ever was. The protocol was open, so I could use whatever client I felt a fancy for. With the advent of smart phones, I just got myself a gtalk client on the phone, and have had a really decent integrated mostly-universal IM solution. Over the last few months, all Google services have been feeling flaky. IMs will often arrive anywhere between twenty minutes and one hour after being sent, clients will randomly disconnect, client priorities seem to work sometimes, and sometimes just a random device of those connected will get an IM. I think the time has come to look for greener grass. The Question It's rather hard to put what I'm looking for into precise words. I guess I just want something that is kind of like MSN/Gtalk, but that doesn't let me down when I need it. IRC is pretty much perfect, but the protocol just isn't designed to work well on mobile devices. Really, at this point I'm considering sticking to IRC for desktop messaging, and SMS/email on the phone, but I hope that in this day and age there is something better out there.

I stumbled across a .Mac framework from Apple but it hasn't been updated in years, so I don't want to use it due to possible compatibility problems it may cause. I think that the MobileMe.framework is private, so I don't think I can use it. What kind of alternatives are there available for me so that I can upload the file to MobileMe? I've also been looking into WebDav frameworks (since MobileMe is WebDav based), but I didn't find anything useful either. Thanks!

    Error: ('IM002', '[IM002] [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified (0) (SQLDriverConnectW)') I'm migrating from developing on a windows development machine to Linux machine in production and I'm having issues with the freetds driver. As far as I can tell that error message means it can't find the driver. I can connect via the cli via sqsh and tsql. I've setup my settings.py as such.   • Macports Apache not starting at Mac OS X snow leopard boot [closed]

    I've done the launchctl load command, the symlinks point to my /opt/local/etc/LaunchDaemeons/org.macports.apache2/org.macports.apache2.plist, but it never starts. I can start it manually, works fine after that. Just won't load on startup. My server is named in my /opt/local/apache2/conf/httd.conf, I had read that sometimes makes a difference. I've done the launchctl unload and load trick, all with no results. I'm out of ideas.

    Possible Duplicate: Problems installing OS on Dell PowerEdge R410 I am trying to configure a Dell PowerEdge R310 server with Windows Server 2003. I've already configured the two hard drives as RAID1. The HD controller is PERC H700 Integrated and Adapter. Trying to stay with Windows Server 2003 on this fairly new server to save on cost and keep the configuration the same as my old server, which has been running like a champ for five years. Problem: During the OS installation, after everything has been copied from the installation CD, the installation hangs at a window labeled 'Windows Setup' with the message 'Setup is starting Windows' at the bottom. I'm wondering if this is a driver problem and if so, where can I get the drivers for the R310 or where can I get the media for the latest version of Windows Server 2003 which may include the necessary drivers? Will certainly appreciate some help here.

  • Should I upgrade to Symantec Endpoint Protection? [closed]

    I'm the IT manager at an animal shelter in Upstate New York. We have a Windows network with about 50 desktops running Windows XP Pro. We used to use CA eTrust Antivirus, but that product didn't work too well (too many infections got through). About six months ago, we switched to using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition ver. 10.1.8.8000. If anything, the Symantec product is even worse. The last six weeks in particular have been very bad -- we've had about seven or eight PCs get hit with those malware infections that masquerade as antivirus software. In most of those cases, Symantec didn't even flag the malware at all. So... what gives with the Symantec Antivirus? As far as I can tell, it's installed correctly and downloading updated definitions nightly. I can upgrade to Symantec Endpoint Protection for $220 (we get non-profit pricing), but I don't want to do it if it's not going to be significantly better. Any advice? Should I switch to something else entirely? Thanks!
