  Im installing Debian testing version wheezy on my Asus X53Sc with Intel Centrino Wireless-N 100. Im having a problem with my wifi connection. When I try to connect to internet with the wireless connection, an error occurs: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/rtl_nic/rtl8105e-1.fw for module r8169. I installed successfully the iwlwifi-100-5.ucode, but now I have this error. Any ideas or suggestions to resolve the problem ?

• Apache 403 - looking .htaccess in parent's parent directory

  I am having this problem (apache2, ubuntu 12.04) I have put all my sites in /home/username/vhosts folder I have added permissions to home and username to be x and chmod -r 777 on vhosts Added /etc/hosts to access my sites with desired names Did a2enmod rewrite But still I have this error: [Sat Jun 23 00:05:23 2012] [crit] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: /home/username/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable WHY is it not readable? I did sudo -s su - www-data and with that I can correctly list the /home/username dir What is wrong with me or apache?

  I had to throw a machine together in a bit of a hurry- to replace a machine that suddenly failed (no one had bothered to keep a "warm" backup) It has Windows Server 2008 and SQL 2008 The snag is, I installed them off our MSDN subscription media, due to me not having "licensed" software. I need to put this machine into production. We are in the process of buying the licenses from a MS reseller now. Is there a way to "convert" the MSDN license to production on both Windows Server and SQL?

  I would like to know if there is a (cost free) way to backup Windows Server 2008 Active Directory and DNS settings without using Windows Server Backup. The problem stems from not having a seperate volume available to store the resulting backup from Windows Server Backup.   I'm not even sure if this is possible with Outlook's current rule set but I thought I'd ask. I'd like emails that meet certain characteristics to automatically be moved from my inbox after they are a day old. I get a lot of notification emails that I end up having to remove the next day manually since I get new ones to replace them each day. So a rule would be like: If the email is from [email protected] and older then 1 day move to already read folder.

  Hi, I am having trouble with my laptop. A problem that happens is a slowdown that occurs every 5 minutes or so (problem can be seen during games). The fan will start to speed up and the laptop will slow down to about 50% of its original fps. This will persist for about 30 seconds and then continue back. • SSH from Windows to Linux without entering a password

  I am trying to use ssh/scp from Windows to Linux without having to enter a password. This is what I have done, and it doesn't seem to work: generated public and private keys using Putty Key Generator (on Windows) saved the files as id_rsa.pub and id_rsa copied them into ~/.ssh added id_rsa.pub to the Linux box in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys I then try to ssh to the Linux box from Windows and I still have to enter a password Am I missing something?

  Hi, I'm having a read only access problem. I have admin rights and can set the security for a folder to give me full access but when I switch the check box for read only off then exit out and open the properties back up it is checked. It is a grayed out check box if that helps. I just don't know how I have read/write access but can't switch off read only for a particular folder. Thanks

• Apache shuts down from time to time

  I'm having trouble with my VPS as it keeps shutting apache down at least twice a day. The server is running on CentOS 6 with the latest apache. By shutting down I mean I have to go into SSH and type in this command in order to bring it up again: /sbin/service httpd start I'm not very good with servers and my host doesn't seem to have a nice customer service. Any help would be appreciated as these unexpected downtimes really know to kill one's mood.

• Why is my Sent folder empty in Outlook on Windows Mobile?

  I'm using Outlook on Windows Mobile 6.1 connected to an Exchange server. Even if I check the Sent folder in my synchronization options, the folder always shows up as having no messages. Even emails that I've sent FROM my phone do not show up, leaving me with no way to view those. Anything else I can check or enable to see these messages?

  At work, certain protocols are blocked, and websites that I visit try to access these protocols with Javascript. These sites work fine when these requests fail (except for whatever it's trying to do with the requests), but I have to click cancel on a multitude of proxy authentication dialogs. What I want to do is just have firefox silently ignore this, so I can use the website without having to click cancel 8 times on every action I make (this includes all the stack overflow style sites which is trying to make requests with the ws: protocol).

I want to access this platform by using a Remote Desktop Connection on to my Windows 7 Virtual Machine, with the smartcard plugged into my home PC. • How to allow only specific directories to use htaccess?

  Currently in apache2.conf I have AllowOverride all set for /var/www which simply allows htaccess for all the sites on the server (which is Ubuntu, 9.04). However, I'd rather only allow overrides in each site root directory and nothing else. In other words, /var/www/site1, /var/www/site2, etc. can have a htaccess, but all other directories including /var/www and /var/www/site1/content cannot. Is there a way to do this without having to write a rule for every site on the server?
