• Shows different behaviour in release and debug mode .apk

  My android application get restarted when I take the application from home screen, but this not a consistent. Some time it works perfectly (resume with the last visited activity). My application contains a splash screen activity and 5 activities in tab layout. Usage Start application After splash screen the application shows one of the activity in tab Press home button Try to invoke application from home screen Application gets restarted, it is not happening always. I am working on actual device.   Hello , Can a crystal report be scaled to fit page? I'm hoping to achieve something similar to Microsoft Excel's Scale To Fit feature wherein a large spreadsheet can be scaled to fit a 8.5"x 11" page. (On MS Excel 2007 goto Page Layout Scale To Fit). Im searching of a way to make a large report fit into a smaller page during print. for example a report designed in Legal(8.5"x 14") page must be able to shrink when print previewed for Letter(8.5"x 11") page. In my crystal report, it should be scaled to fit the page by default. I was thinking maybe theres a Crystal Report Setting or C# code technique that I missed out. • How to use CSS to ensure items remain offscreen even if window is resized?

  I am trying to implement a type of slider using jquery. However this question is about the CSS involved in trying to achieve the functionality. My site design occupies a central column of width 960px. Within this layout there is a central element, that I wish to slide right, on click of a "next" button, and at the same time, another element of the same class slides in from the left to occupy the space vacated. I have drawn a diagram of what I am trying to achieve. In this diagram the red blocks are the element I want to slide in and out, it is grouped by a div which moves left to produce the effect using jQuery I have 2 main questions: How do I get the correct margin values, given that the browser window width can vary and that all elements that are not the current item should be offscreen? 2.If the user were to resize the margins could be dynamically altered based on the values returned using the jQuery resize() event. Or is there a neater quicker better way of doing it using pure CSS?

• PHP controllable menubar position

  I'm an admin for a page and I want to give certain users dynamic control of the menubar layout. The ideal would be a page with a list with menu items and arrows pointing up and down with each item and when you click them the item is reordered. I have a pretty basic idea of how I can do it but I would like some suggestions. The items are stored in MySQL and I only need help figuring out how the items should be ordered or numbered and how to re-order them. This probably needs some javascript trickery and I'm not familiar with JS.

  I have a simple app with two basic screens, a UIMapView and a UITableView. I'd like to have a toolbar at the bottom with a couple of buttons and a UISegmentedControl with two segments: "Map" and "Table". (The layout is similar to the Google Maps app that ships with the iPhone.) How can I keep the same toolbar while presenting either the UIMapView (with a UIMapViewController) or the UITableView (with a UITableViewController) when the user switches back and forth on the segmented control? Of course, I can just create an identical toolbar for each of the two different views and display them separately, but is there a better way?

  Hi, I'm just putting the finishing touches to my Android app. Unfortunately, I dug straight into development without reading the documentation and built my layout with AbsoluteLayout and it turned out to look terrible when I loaded the app on my phone. Now I'm redoing the UI in a RelativeLayout and I want to put empty canvas space in between my ViewGroups in the y-direction. I am currently achieving this by putting random TextView sentences that are of the same color as my View's background in order to make psuedo-empty space. Is there a better way to do this, because right now when I define a specific ViewGroup to be placed below another View, it gets stuck right below the top View. As I was writing this, it dawned upon me that using padding might be the answer.... Any other suggestions?

  I have a small, custom crafted HTML report, not using any reporting engine, for various reasons. The client's layout is quite handy, as each report section fits on its own page, so I have one div for each page, with a CSS class of .page, setting A4 dimensions with margin, and a header image. Each 'page' also has a small header table just under the header image, and a section heading label. Now, some sections threaten to overflow their page, and I'm looking at ways to handle this. One clumsy approach is to include a second page for those sections that might overflow, and delete these pages before rendering if they are empty. If I do this, how can I 'tell' content on one page to overflow into the next page? The report is finished and a once off effort, so I'm not keen to convert it into a SSRS or Telerik report just to achieve this paging.

• main content wrapper div get's pushed down the page in IE

  I have a 2 column layout, with the left side for navigation and the right side for the main content. The right side content has a wrapper div that looks like: Now this looks fine in FF and GC, and it IE but if I change the padding to anything over 4px that section gets pushed down below the left navigation. #content { padding:3px; // 4 makes it get pushed down } Does this mean IE has a different way of calculating the width of all my elements? Is this a common problem that has a solution for it?

Yet when I add the user control to one of my forms the control is blank. I've tried building the solution and a see the user-control flicker as if it's being updated, but it remains blank. Also if I actually run the program the usercontrol can not be see on the form. I've used usercontrols like this in the past. Is there something I'm missing?

  I'm trying to extract the postal codes from yell.com using php and preg_replace. I successfully extracted the postal code but only along with the address. Thus the SWF is responsible for the creative layout of the screen the flash player. It is the results of this actions script, images, and textual data that need to be converted to a video format. Is anyone familiar with an online service that would be able to convert such .swf files that our site generates to a video format (say .avi, .mpeg, .mov). Or an application? • Poor Transparency on Images

  I am having problems getting transparency to work well on an ImageView. The images at (http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/6233/whatn.png) were screen captured from a Droid (hdpi). The top image I made in Photoshop and left the background white. The bottom image is the same image with the background transparent and the layout's color (white) shows through. Whenever I have transparent backgrounds in images it dithers shadows like this. Also, it only happens on hdpi devices, on my G1 (mdpi) it looks just fine. What is going on? How can I make the bottom image look as good as the top one?

• saving values of editText in replaced fragment

  I have a 2 fragment layout, on the left fragment, i have a list of the different table names, on the right, i open up a different table depending on what is clicked on the right fragment. my intention, is that the first list item is clicked, then values will be entered on the table, next the second list item is clicked, the next table opens up and those values are entered. what would be the best way to store the values of the results entered in the editboxes, so i can process them all at once? I'm sure i can use onPause to save them all, but would that be the best way? Thanks

• VS2010 is removing code from designer without warning - causing issues

  I have a WinForm with a pretty complex layout (has lots of controls, panels, etc.) Whenever i open the form the file is automatically checked out from source control and it removes anything in the designer file that refereces my menustrip or statusstrip ie: the following get removed (w/o warning) Me.MyMenuStip.SuspendLayout() Me.MyStatusStrip.SuspendLayout() Me.MyMenuStrip.ResumeLayout(False) Me.MyMenuStrip.PerformLayout() Me.MyStatusStrip.ResumeLayout(False) Me.MyStatusStrip.PerformLayout() The code still builds, but there are no Menu or Status items rendered. Any ideas on what i can do? I do not want to just remove/add the menustrip for instance cause i would loose all of my menu items (and there are a lot) Thanks in advance!
