  • Saving a movie generated with Jython/JES on local disk

    I made an autogenerated movie clip using JES (Jython Environment for Students). I can play it without any problem using playMovie(), but I can't figure out how to have it saved physically on disk. This error sounds like a java bug in Jython/JES library. I am running JES under Windows 7 and have all the common Quicktime and AVI codex installed as well as the QTjava library in my jre... Any brilliant idea ? EDIT : Also tried the Linux version with same result for both QuickTime and AVI...

    Hi, I am using valgrind callgrind to profile a program on gtk. And then I use kcachedgrind to read the result. I have captured an update a screenshot of kcachedgrind here: http://i41.tinypic.com/168spk0.jpg. It said the function gtk_moz_embed_new() costed '15.61%'. But I dont understand how is that possible. the function gtk_moz_embed_new() literally has 1 line: and it is just calling a g_object_new().   • Division inaccurate in Javascript?

    If I perform the following operation in Javascript: 0.06120*400 The result is 24.48. However, if I do this: 24.48/400 The result is: 0.061200000000000004 JSFiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/zcDH7/ So it appears that Javascript rounds things differently when doing division and multiplication? Using my calculator, the operation 24.48/400 results in the correct answer of 0.0612. How should I deal with Javascript's inaccurate division? I can't simply round the number off, because I will be dealing with numbers of varying precision. Thanks for your advice.

    I have a function that gives me the following warning: [DCC Warning] filename.pas(6939): W1035 Return value of function 'function' might be undefined The function, however, is clean, small, and does have a known, expected, return value. The first statement in the function is: Result := ''; and there is no local variable or parameter called Result either. Is there any kind of pragma-like directive I can surround this method with to remove this warning? This is Delphi 2007. Unfortunately, the help system on this Delphi installation is shot, so I can't pop up the help for that warning right now. Anyone know off the top of their head what I can do?

    Hi I'm stuck on a problem and if possible I will need help from the community. I'm not looking for a ready-made solution, but something which would help me to produce the result. I'm looking for a way to produce a dynamic activity based on a JSON object. Here an example of a JSON object: [ { "name": "my checkbox name", "type": "checkbox", "value": "one,two,three" } { "name": "my edit text", "type": "text", "value": "" } ...] This JSONObject could be totally random. I could have 2 text views, 3 select menus, 1 text view and so on. The goal is to iterate over this JSONObject and create the appropriate elements within my android code. To produce the result I've thought of a simple switch which would render one by one my different JSONObject to an android widget. But after that how could I have access of every property of every widget rendered? Thank you.

Is this a bug in Oracle jdbc? or correct behavior? The parameter is Timestamp, and I expected that no time conversions will be done on the way. The database column type is DATE, but I also checked it with TIMESTAMP column type with the same results. Is there a way to achieve correct result? I cannot change default timezone in the the whole application to UTC. Thanks for your help

    SQL Server 2008 I almost have, I think, what I'm looking to do. I'm just trying to fine tune the result. I have a table that stores timestamps of all transactions that occur on the system. I'm writing a query to give an average transaction time. This is what I have so far: With TransTime AS ( select endtime-starttime AS Totaltime from transactiontime where starttime > '2010-05-12' and endtime < '2010-05-13') Select CAST(AVG(CAST(TotalTime As Float))As Datetime) from TransTime I'm getting the following result: 1900-01-01 00:00:00.007 I can't figure out how to strip the date off and just display the time, 00:00:00:007.   • iphone float vs integer rounding?

    Okay, from what I understand, an integer that is a fraction will be rounded one way or the other so that if a formula comes up with say 5/6 - it will automatically round it to 1. I have a calculation: xyz = ((1300 - [abc intValue])/6) + 100; xyz is defined as an NSInteger, abc is an NSString that is chosen via a UIPicker. I want the calculation (1300 - [abc intValue]) to add 1 to 100 for each 6 units below 1300. For example, 1255 should result in xyz having a value of 100 and 1254 should result in a value of 101. Now, I understand that my formula above is wrong because of the rounding principles, but I am getting some CRAZY results from the program itself. When I punched in 1259 - I got 106. When I punched in 1255 - I got 107. Why would it behave that way?

My current research result: IExtractImage COM. Problem: The size of the generated result is fixed and low quality, and you can't be sure all the source documents contain the thumbnails.     Note: In this question I'm using the term "autocomplete" (or "iterative search") to refer to returning search-as-you-type results, e.g. like Google Search gives you. Also my question is not specific to web applications vs. fat client apps. How are SQL SELECT queries normally constructed to provide decent performance for this type of query, especially over arbitrarily large data sets? In the case where the search will only query based on the first n characters (easiest case) am I still issuing a new SELECT result FROM sometable WHERE entry LIKE... on each keypress. Even with various forms of caching this seems like it might result in poor performance. In cases where you want your search string to return results with prefix matches, substring matches, etc. it's an even more difficult problem. Looking at a case of searching a list of contacts, you might return results that match FirstName + LastName, LastName + FirstName, or any other substring.

  • What is the correct way to tell if Pango has found the right font?

    I create a font description with: pango_font_description_from_string() Then load a font with: pango_context_load_font() This process seems to result in some default font regardless of the string I give it. Is there any sane way for me to determine if the returned font is the result of an alias (e.g. "Sans", "Monospace") or just the last chance default font? For example, if I request the font "Monospace" and get back "DejaVu Sans Mono" then I should be able to declare that a good match. However, if I request "OquieZee" and get back "DejaVu Sans" then I'd like to know that I just got back the default font because the font I requested doesn't actually exist on the system. When I first saw pango_font_description_better_match() I thought it might be of help, but it turned out to be a dead end.
