  • Cannot paste web page images in Word 2010

    I am unable to paste web page images into word 2010 - Selecting some text and images on a web page and pasting into word just results in a box on the page. The following question http://superuser.com/questions/132723/cannot-paste-words-with-pictures-in-ms-word-2010 says the solution is to use paste special and select HTML. This does not work when I try it. copying and pasting individual images does not work either.

  • Roundcube in different server as the mail server how to use mark/not mark as spam

    Legend Roundcube IMAP client located in server A Mail server with spamassassin support is located Server B In order to use the mark/not mark as spam functionality per user a roundcube plugin requires access to spamassassin which is located in a different server (Server B). I guess there should be an option for spamassassin to connect to a remotely database and submit/grab results there. How can I achieve this?

  • How to disable “smart quotes” in Windows Live Mail?

    Windows Live Mail by default changes straight quotation marks (" and ') to typographic quotation marks, aka "smart quotes" (“, ”, ‘ and ’). This often results in the recipient of the email seeing blank rectangles or other symbols instead of the smart quotes, due to encoding problems. Unlike in most programs, there's doesn't seem to be any built-in option to disable this, and searching online for solutions only leads to workarounds, like hitting Backspace immediately after typing a single or double quote, and switching to "Plain text" mode. Is there any way to disable this behaviour?

  • Perfmon - Redirector current command 0 result

    I'd like to monitor how many SMB connections there are at any given time for my 2008R2 file server, but when I add Redirector/Current Commands in perfmon, I get 0 results. This KB from Microsoft isn't exactly helpful either: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2523382 It mearly confirms there is an issue, but doesn't provide a work around. How would I go about getting the current number of SMB connections? Thanks for your help in advance.

    How to find a (ie., Portable single executable) software requires a particular OS (Win98, Win98SE, WinME, Win2000, WinXP, Linux). I am using Win98SE in one pc and WinXP in another PC. If I copy/install a portable software or package in win98se, only after installing / executing that software, that program tell us it requires WinXP,. Is any software to find a particular software needs to run only in win98SE or greater. I tried Dependency Walker by Steve Miller but no results. Kindly help to solve this problem.

  • IRP_MJ_WRITE latency up to 15 seconds

    We have written an application that performs small (22kB) writes to multiple files at once (one thread performing asynchronous queued writes to multiple locations on behalf of other threads) on the same local volume (RAID1). 99.9% of the writes are low-latency but occasionally (maybe every minute or two) we get one or two huge latency writes (I have seen 10 seconds and above) without any real explanation. Platform: Win2003 Server with NTFS. Monitoring: Sysinternals Process Monitor (see link below) and our own application logging. We have tried multiple things to try and solve this that have been gleaned from a few websites, e.g.: Making the first part of file names unique to aid 8.3 name generation Writing files to multiple directories Changing Intel Disk Write Caching Windows File/Printer Sharing Minimize memory used Balance Maximize data throughput for file sharing Maximize data throughput for network applications System-Advanced-Performance-Advanced NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate - use fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 1 disable 8.3 name generation - use "fsutil behavior set disable8dot3 1" + restart Enable a large size file system cache Disable paging of the kernel code IO Page Lock Limit Turn Off (or On) the Indexing Service But nothing seems to make much difference. There's a whole host of things we haven't tried yet but we wondered if anyone had come across the same problem, a reason and a solution (programmatic or not)? We can reproduce the problem using IOMeter and a simple setup: Start IOMeter and remove all but the first worker thread in 'Topology' using the disconnect button. Select the Worker thread and put a cross in the box next to the disk you want to use in the Disk Targets tab and put '2000000' in Maximum Disk Size (NOTE: must have at least 1GB free space; sector size is 512 bytes) Next create a new access specification and add it to the worker thread: Transfer Request Size = 22kB 100% Sequential Percent of Access Spec = 100% Percent Read/Write = 100% Write Change Results Display Update Frequency to 5 seconds, Test Setup Run Time to 20 seconds and both 'Number of Workers to Spawn Automatically' settings to zero. Select the Worker Thread in the Topology panel and hit the Duplicate Worker button 59 times to create 60 threads with identical settings. Hit the 'Go' button (green flag) and monitor the Results tab. The 'Maximum I/O Response Time (ms)' always hits at least 3500 on our machine. Our machine isn't exactly slow (Xeon 8 core rack server with 4GB and onboard RAID). I'd be interested to see what other people get. We have a feeling it might be something to do with the NTFS filesystem (ours is currently 75% full of fragmented files) and we are going to try a few things around this principle. But it is also related to disk performance since we don't see it on a RAMDisk and it's not as severe on a RAID10 array. Any help is much appreciated.     I'm using following makeprg to get my tex files compiled in vim: setlocal makeprg=pdflatex\ \-file\-line\-error\ \-shell\-escape\ \-interaction=nonstopmode\ $*\\\|\ tee\ \/dev\/tty\ \\\|\ grep\ \-P\ ':\\d{1,5}:\ ' which yields great results (errors displayed properly, tex compilation shown while busy,...) Yet, when there are errors and the quickfix window pops up, its status bar is cluttered up with the makeprg string: pdflatex\ \-file\-line\-error\ \-shell\-escape\ \-interaction=nonstopmode\ $*\\\|\ tee\ \/dev\/tty\ \\\|\ grep\ \-P\ ':\\d{1,5}:\ ' Is there a way of changing the quickfix title/statusbar?

    I need to search our mail logs for a specific e-mail address. We keep a current file named maillog as well as a week's worth of .bz2 files in the same folder. Currently, I'm running the following commands to search for the file: grep [email protected] maillog bzgrep [email protected] *.bz2 Is there a way combine the grep and bzgrep commands into a single output? That way, I could pipe the combined results to a single e-mail or a single file.

    Let's say I have a daily maintainance task that: Backups all databases and then removes backups that are older than 3 days. Now let's say the first backup at day 1, starting at 10:00, results in the following files db1.bak 2012-01-01 10:04 db2.bak 2012-01-01 10:06 Now let's say at day 4 the first step of the maintainance task (backup the DBs) happens to finish at 10:05. Will SQL Server delete db1.bak and keep db2.bak (would be logical, but might be surprising for the user) or keep both or remove both?

  • Macports Apache not starting at Mac OS X snow leopard boot [closed]

    I've done the launchctl load command, the symlinks point to my /opt/local/etc/LaunchDaemeons/org.macports.apache2/org.macports.apache2.plist, but it never starts. I can start it manually, works fine after that. Just won't load on startup. My server is named in my /opt/local/apache2/conf/httd.conf, I had read that sometimes makes a difference. I've done the launchctl unload and load trick, all with no results. I'm out of ideas.

    I wish to count the number of objects returned from a query (but I do not need the actual objects themselves) from Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2. E.g., if I want to find all people with surname Smith, I would want something like ldapsearch -LLL -H ldaps://example.com -b "ou=people,dc=example,dc=com" "sn=Smith" but with some sort of count. Is this possible without returning all of the results?

  • Nginx Reverse proxy + SYN Flood

    We're running a nginx reverse proxy cluster, forwarding traffic to our main website, this enables us to filter out unwanted traffic/users etc, and send them off else where, now we have a few issues with SYN floods where the requests a second is overflowing the proxy + the main server causing them to become unavailable. Is there any ip tables magic that can A) Rate limit SYN packets / connections to HTTP B) Block it all together if packets a second is malicious or any advice how to use limit_rate_zone in nginx, I've googled and tried to apply a few new results and none of them work and the websites are still unavailable.

  • Removing duplicate files, keeping only the newest file

    I'm trying to clean up a photo dump folder, in which several files are duplicated but with different filenames or lost in subfolders. I've looked at tools like rmlint, duff and fdupes, but I can't seem to find a way to have them keep only the file with the most recent timestamp. I suspect I have to postprocess the results, but I don't even know where to start to do this. Can anyone guide me on how to get the duplicate files list and delete everything but the newest file?

    Howdy, I just recently installed hyper-v server 2008 r2 on a dedicated server i have, but i'm having trouble enabling remote management. Running the HVRemote - http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/HVRemote - tool seems to have yielded some positive results, and all tests on the server pass (firewall, permissions, etc), but client-side things are not working. I'm stuck at this step : 5: - Simple query to root\cimv2 WMI namespace FAIL - Simple query failed Cannot perform simple query against root\cimv2 Anyone could help me figure this out?   • How to remove google ads virus in Internet Explorer?

    I picked up some adware that adds irrelevant advertisements to Google and Wikipedia. I have scanned with MalwareBytes, Windows Defender (Which is the same as MSE in Windows 8), Ad Aware, Spybot, and McAfee, which found no results. This only occurs in Internet Explorer 10, not in Firefox or Iron. I would like to keep IE10, I think it is a major improvement from previous versions. Any ideas on how to remove the adware?

When I run the command I get the following results: Table does not support optimize, doing recreate + analyze instead The tables are built using the Wordpress 2.91 installer and haven't been modified at all. Is this normal? How can I optimize my database to keep things working correctly?

  • Server unresponsive after successful OpenSSL connection

    I'm testing server connections using OpenSSL, with varying results Server A: connection is successful, as are user login and the other commands I expected to work Server B: connection is successful, but the server is unresponsive when I try to submit a command. I don't get an error, or even a disconnection – just a blank line from where I hit Enter or ^M My hunch is that Server B's configuration requires a different character encoding or something and it's simply not recognizing my Enter keystroke, but I've looked to no avail... any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • wvMaxima Error: "Not Connected To Maxima" on Windows

    Maxima gives an error "Not Connected To Maxima" whenever I try to do anything with it. I've looked around, but I couldn't figure out how to fix this on Windows. The only results I got were for Fedora. According to them, I think this may have something to do with the Firewall, but I can't figure out what. I even tried adding wvMaxima to the Windows Firewall exceptions list, but the same error comes up.
