    Ein neues Release für Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control ist verfügbar. Es ist das Release 4, oder genauer die Version 12.1.0.4. Der Download steht für alle unterstützten Plattformen seit dem 03.06.2014 auf OTN zur Verfügung.Natürlich gibt es viele Neuerungen, daher können hier nur wenige aufgezählt werden: - Als Repository Datenbank wird jetzt auch die Datenbankversion 12c (als Non-CDB) unterstützt - Das Sicherheitsmodell für zusammengefasste Zieltypen (z.B. Gruppen) wurde geändert. Jetzt kann man Rechte auf die Member einer Grupper vergeben, ohne dass das gleiche Recht auf die Gruppe selbst vergeben werden müsste - Default Preferred Credentials stellen sicher, dass neue EM Benutzer auch ohne weitere Konfiguration arbeiten können - Der Bereich Cloud Management, also der Betrieb einer eigenen Cloud wurde stark weiterentwickelt. - Im Datenbankbereich können die AWR Daten der einzelnen Zieldatenbanken jetzt in ein zentrales AWR Warehouse übertragen und somit besser für längere Zeit gespeichert werden.     To make it eaiser to do version control and diff files of documentation, use markup files, such as HTML: html/xhtml, XML: docbook, Wiki: markdown to replace doc/docx. docx is too complex and lengthy. For html, no extra document generation required. Programmers can write html directly and end users / managers can use any web browsers to view the document. For custom XML or Wiki formats, viewers are required to view the document or converters are used to export to pdf/doc. Is such move becoming popular in enterprise context? Why or why not?

    I would like to gain the "Oracle Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) Developer" certification. According to this page I have to take a number of classes each of which costs up to a couple of thousand GB£. Is this really the only way to obtain the certification? Can I not just buy a certification guide book from amazon and just sit the requisite tests? At the moment I have no Java EE experience and I'm finding it impossible to get interviews for the jobs I'm interested in. I'm hoping this will at least help me get my foot through the door.

    Hi, I want to do log shipping for biztalk databases on SQL server 2008 standard edition (server A) to another SQL server 2008 standard edition (server B). I was told that for biztalk, logshipping is not like standard logshipping.     I need to display a UI element (e.g. a star or checkmark) for employees that are 'favorites' of the current user (another employee). The Employee model has the following relationship defined to support this: has_and_belongs_to_many :favorites, :class_name => "Employee", :join_table => "favorites", :association_foreign_key => "favorite_id", :foreign_key => "employee_id" The favorites has two fields: employee_id, favorite_id. If I were to write SQL, the following query would give me the results that I want: SELECT id, account, IF( ( SELECT favorite_id FROM favorites WHERE favorite_id=p.id AND employee_id = ? ) IS NULL, FALSE, TRUE) isFavorite FROM employees Where the '?' would be replaced by the session[:user_id]. How do I represent the isFavorite scalar query in Rails? Another approach would use a query like this: SELECT id, account, IF(favorite_id IS NULL, FALSE, TRUE) isFavorite FROM employees e LEFT OUTER JOIN favorites f ON e.id=f.favorite_id AND employee_id = ? Again, the '?' is replaced by the session[:user_id] value. I've had some success writing this in Rails: ee=Employee.find(:all, :joins=>"LEFT OUTER JOIN favorites ON employees.id=favorites.favorite_id AND favorites.employee_id=1", :select=>"employees.*,favorites.favorite_id") Unfortunately, when I try to make this query 'dynamic' by replacing the '1' with a '?', I get errors. ee=Employee.find(:all, :joins=>["LEFT OUTER JOIN favorites ON employees.id=favorites.favorite_id AND favorites.employee_id=?",1], :select=>"employees.*,favorites.favorite_id") Obviously, I have the syntax wrong, but can :joins expressions be 'dynamic'?   • Rails 3 NameError (cannot remove Object::Version) error

    Can anyone point me at what might be causing this error? There is no ApplicationTrace, and it locks the server hard on my development machine. I think it has something to do with the way rails reloads your classes in development mode, and it appears to have something to do with a Version constant. I can't find a reference to this though.   • How to Set Timeout for Ruby ODBC Driver for SQL Server?

    Hello, I would like to know how to explicitly set a timeout for the Ruby DBI ODBC driver, when connecting to SQL Server. I would like long running queries to simply timeout and cancel themselves, saving further server resources and Rails processes. This was happening while we were using the ADO based Ruby driver, but now that we've switched to DBD::ODBC we are no longer experiencing timeouts. I've looked around but cannot find out how to set the query timeout value. I've tried explicitly setting some values in the driver, and specifying both Timeout and ConnectionTimeout and Connect Timeout in the DSN configuration for the connection. No luck. Your tips and advice are very appreciated. Thanks! Seth

  • Is there an HTML browser rendering engine for Ruby?

    Given a URL, I would like to be able to render the returned HTML to know width and height for each div, fonts' size for each piece of text, color of each element, position of each element on screen, etc. A possible approach could be traversing the DOM tree with Hpricot and checking CSS style by parsing the associated stylesheet using css_parser gem. But this would not consider default styles, inheritance, floats, etc. In Java there's Cobra, a Java Web Renderer, which is able to render a web page and query attributes like width, font size, etc. for each fragment. I could use Cobra with JRuby or similar solutions, but prefer a Ruby native tool. Is there any library like this for Ruby?

    I'm looking for something to track the errors being raised across our multiple rails applications on our multiple servers. Ideally: the application failings sends an email to [email protected] and the email is processed in another application. This application will then show us some stats and give us some kinds of auditing tools. A service like Hoptoad might do the trick, but I'm trying to see what's available these days. Ideally free or cheap, of course...
