  • JNLP desktop shortcut creation with Windows 7 : "cannot create shortcut"

    Hi, we have an Java application deployed with Java Web Start (JNLP) that does a desktop shortcut. One client has issue with Windows 7 : in the end of startup/installation there is a message "cannot create shortcut". With our own Windows 7 machine we don't have problems and unfortunately we don't have much details yet.   • How do I suppress script errors when using the WPF WebBrowser control?

    I have a WPF application that uses the WPF WebBrowser control to display interesting web pages to our developers on a flatscreen display (like a news feed). The trouble is that I occasionally get a HTML script error that pops up a nasty IE error message asking if I would like to "stop running scripts on this page". Is there a way to suppress this error checking? NOTE: I have disabled script debugging in IE settings already.

    I'm trying to use the Fabric 0.1.1 deploy tool (http://docs.fabfile.org/) on Windows and we're running into an issue with the readline module.   • Prototype/scriptaculous browser compatibility

    Hi, I developed a page using the latest prototype and scriptaculous versions and after cleaning it up thoroughly, the only browser where my scripts work is ... chrome! Some things don't work at all with ie7(eg BlindUp), and some validations fail with ie8 and firefox 3.5. Any success stories to contradict this ? (Any tips will be appreciated).

Given the fact that South is tightly coupled with django's ORM, and the fact that there's so many ORMs for SQL Server I guess having just a generic migration framework, enabling you to write and execute in controlled and sequential manner SQL data/schema change scripts should be sufficient.

    How to disable the startup animation in OFC2? Since I started using the dz build, the on-show animation is on by default, which sucks quite a lot. Neither of these work: graph.animate=false graph.on_show=false Also, dz's build implements the tooltip hover support poorly - the tooltip continues to hover even when the cursor is on another flash object. Has anyone overcome these problems?

    Please check out the comment field at the bottom on http://tinyurl.com/3xow97t in Firefox - it works pretty well - the red warning gets added if empty and the submit gets disabled - once there is text inside, the submit gets re-enabled. the problem i have now, it does not work in IE. i really hope somebody can help. the iframe contents checks are inside: modules/editor/scripts/global.js

  • Jruby Gems-in-a-jar issue

    Hi all, I am trying to write some code in ruby (using jruby) to be compiled to java bytecode with jrubyc and deployed to a remote machine where it will be run on the JVM (no ruby available there). Everything works fine as long as I am happy to stick with the standard jruby library. As explained on the jruby website, I simply copy the jruby-complete.jar library to the remote machine and include it in the classpath at runtime. I fire my compiled script and it works: cool! The problems start when I need some other libraries (typically rubygems) to run my script. I am aware of cool stuff like rawr, -which I successfully tested- to put together all you need in a single package. However that is not the solution I am looking for: I will have many small scripts to run independently and I don't want each of them to grow to at least 10 MB just because I insanely include the jruby-complete.jar in each of them. What I would like is to compile a .jar for each of the libraries that I will need to use, put all of them in a common folder on the remote machine and include them at runtime in the classpath when I run my compiled jruby scripts on the JVM. This said, I tried to follow the instructions here: http://blog.nicksieger.com/articles/2009/01/10/jruby-1-1-6-gems-in-a-jar I tried exactly the example shown there, with the "chronic" gem. Going step by step: Install the gem locally: java -jar jruby-complete-1.1.6.jar -S gem install -i ./chronic chronic --no-rdoc --no-ri Package it into a jar: jar cf chronic.jar -C chronic .   • Managed server not starting up however Admin console is up.

    Hi, Scenario: If i try to start the server as a window service it gives an error stating that ceradentials are not correct.However on correcting the credentials in boot.properties when i try to start the server again it gives the same error.Any alternative for starting the server.I gave the same username and password in my startup Script and Boot.properties.     i have some javascript files included in my html file for months. It used to work just fine until couple of days ago, now my scripts don't run anymore and i get javascript error "invalid XML attribute value <script language=JavaScript>\n" with firebug. Does anyone know what this error means and how to get rid of it? i guess is something about that newline "\n" but i can't see that in my file if i open it.

    Hi there, Suppose I have this very simple method in Store's model: def geocode_address loc = Store.geocode(address) self.lat = loc.lat self.lng = loc.lng end If I want to write some test scripts that aren't affected by the geocoding service, which may be down, have limitations or depend on my internet connection, how do I mock out the geocoding service?     #!/usr/bin/perl This is the shebang line to a lot of scripts I'm writing lately. Hard coding the path of the binary seems like it could create some problems. For instance, if one of my users has Perl installed at /something_else/bin then they'd have to change all the shebangs. I've seen some tools that will automatically replace the shebangs, but I'm wondering if there is something simpler.
