  Hi, I understand emacs lisp is great for handling dates and times, but does it have a function to convert strings to internal representation of integers using formats like %Y, %m, %d, %H, %M, %S, and so on? And also, in the emacs reference manual, it says that times are lists of two or three integers, but is there a more formal specification or description? ~ Thanks ~

• Facebook Connect: with no javascript?

  Is it possible to write a website that uses Facebook connect without JavaScript? I have a site set up that works great using XFBML but this (obviously) fails when I visit with JavaScript disabled. I have a feeling that this is possible using the REST-api for Facebook but I'd still appreciate some pointers. There was a discussion about this on the Facebook forum.

  Hello, Is it possible to use the Open XML sdk to manipulate parts of document which is currently open in the ofice app (word/ppt). I know the easiest thing is to use VSTO, but its slow and would involve clipboard use to insert elements, the OXML sdk is direct and simpler.   I've tried using the following commands to download the ctrl alt del comics. $ for filename in $(seq 20021023 20100503); do wget http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comics/"$filename".jpg; done I get the following error code, "bash: syntax error near unexpected token 'do'" I've also tried using cURL, using this command, curl http://ctrlaltdel-online.com/comics[20021023..20100503].jpg I get the following error code, "curl: (3) [globbing] error: bad range specification after pos 37" Any help would be great.

  Hi there, does anyone know if its possible to restyle a window in wpf. Or even better any tutorials or samples? Basically i would like to change the minimize and maximize buttons - oh and the close button to be slightly bigger.... I have expression blend.... Is this possible? I saw some samples in infragistics sample apps which have some great looking forms and as far as i can tell it doesn't use any custom wpf controls... Any ideas really appreciated

  I always wondered why Microsoft chose such a strange, search-engine-unfriendly name for such a great platform. Couldn't they have come up with something better? Apparently the codename was NGWS: Microsoft started development on the .NET Framework in the late 1990s originally under the name of Next Generation Windows Services (NGWS). [Wikipedia] Does anyone know why they chose the name .NET?

• Mercurial/.hgignore - How do I ignore everything but the contents of a folder?

  I have a NetBeans project and the Mercurial repository is in the project root. I would like it to ignore everything except the contents of the "src" and "test" folders, and .hgignore itself. I'm not familiar with regular expressions and can't come up with one that will do that. The ones I tried: (?!src/.*) (?!test/.*) (?!^.hgignore) (?!src/.|test/.|.hgignore) These seem to ignore everything, I can't figure out why. Any advice would be great.

  this may be more appropriate for math overflow, but nevertheless: Given 3d structure (for example molecule), what is a good approach/algorithm to find symmetry (rotational/reflection/inversion/etc.)? I came up with brute force naive algorithm, but it seems there should be better approach.   From a data frame with timestamped rows (strptime results), what is the best method for aggregating statistics for intervals? Intervals could be an hour, a day, etc. I've found the aggregate function, but that doesn't help with assigning each row to an interval. I'm planning on adding a column to the data frame that denotes interval and using that with aggregate, but if there's a better solution it'd be great to hear it. Thanks for any pointers!

• How can I map one to one relationship in Fluent NHibernate. I have tried everything else

I cannot change the structure because the database has too many records and might cause major applications rework. It would be easier if the Id from Party table was a foreign key in person and organization table, but in the particular scenario the database has person and organization key as a foreign key in party table.   I have a .NET C# winforms application which works great on my machine, but if I try to run it on another machine, it doesn't start up. No error message, no crash message, no window - nothing. I've found that this always happens when a referenced assembly is missing. I guess this is .NET's general behavior and not specific to my app, is it? Is there any way to configure .NET or my application such that it spits out a "referenced assembly missing" like error message in such cases?

  Hello, i got a server running windows server 2008, and i got a user which everyone can connect to via Remote desktop! when 2 users a are logged to the user, it's fine. but when the 3 is logged on, it says one of the other 2 should loggoff! my question is, how i disable the limitation of concurrent logons to a single users?
