  • Unable to install Android for Windows 7 because JDK is not found

    - by user1294663
I have JDK SE7u4 installed in windows 7. I tried to install Android on Windows 7 using the installer_r18-windows.exe but no avail. The setup window showed the message saying that the Java SE JDK not found and ERROR: Failed to find Java version for C:\Windows\System32\java.exe The system cannot found the file specified. If you believe you have a JDK installed and it was not properly recognized, simply set an environment variable JAVA_HOME to point to it I right clicked on Computer Properties Advanced System Settings Environment variables. I created a NEW system variable called JAVA_HOME and set the value as C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_04\bin or C:\Windows\System32\java.exe. I ran the installer again — the same error message still appeared.

  • How can I automatically create a folder, assign a home folder and logon script automatically after a new User is created?

    - by drpcken
Usually I create a new user, then set the home folder, logon script, etc... Is it possible in Active Directory when I create a new AD user object, that it goes out to my share drive and automatically creates a folder for them (naming it their username), and then assigns that folder as their home drive? It would also be helpful if it would automatically assign them a specific logon script at user creation too. Thank you!

  • JDBC CLASSPATH Not Working

    - by AeroDroid
I'm setting up a simple JDBC connection to my working MySQL database on my server. I'm using the Connector-J provided by MySQL. According to their documentation, I'm suppose to create the CLASSPATH variable to point to the directory where the mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar is located. I used export set CLASSPATH=/path/mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar:$CLASSPATH. When I type echo $CLASSPATH to see if it exists, everything seems fine. But then when I open a new terminal and type echo $CLASSPATH it's no longer there. I think this is the main reason why my Java server won't connect to the JDBC, because it isn't saving the CLASSPATH variable I set. Anyone got suggestions or fixes on how to set up JDBC in the first place?

  • how to set global PATH on OS X?

    - by lajos
I'd like to append to the global PATH variable on OS X so that all user shells and GUI applications get the same PATH environment. I know I can append to the path in shell startup scripts, but those settings are not inherited by GUI applications. The only way I found so far is to redefine the PATH environment variable in /etc/launchd.conf: setenv PATH /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/my/path I coulnd't figure out a way to actually append to PATH in launchd.conf. I'm a bit worried about this method, but so far this is the only thing that works. Does anyone know of a better way?

  • How to get the IP Address for your Local Area Connection on Windows Server?

    - by Geo
    I want to create a batch or vbs file that will put together a url and executed. Part of that url needs to be the actual ip address of the machine. How I am able to get that IP address in a variable to include it on the script? EDIT 1: I found out that the command below will give me the IP Address, but still don't know how to get that value into a variable to use it in a script. c:\> wmic NICCONFIG WHERE IPEnabled=true GET IPAddress /format:csv Node,IPAddress IP-0AFB,{10.25.5.2}

  • CMD: Append to path without duplicating it?

    - by Horst Walter
For one CMD session I can easily set a new path: SET PATH=%PATH%;"insert custom path here" Doing so in a batch file does not consider whether the custom path is already included. How do I avoid duplicating it (i.e. check whether it is already contained in the PATH "string"). Remarks: Related: How do I append user-defined environment variables to the system variable PATH in Windows 7? Related: How can I permanently append an entry into the system's PATH variable, via command line? Same question for UNIX: Add directory to $PATH if it's not already there

  • wamp server REDIRECT_STATUS

    - by user143039
I have noticed my remote server returns $_SERVER[REDIRECT_STATUS] with every request. Example: [REDIRECT_STATUS] = 200 But my localhost wamp server does not. Interestingly, when I manually set a header: Example: header('HTTP/1.1 302 Redirect This'); The variable: $_SERVER[REDIRECT_STATUS] is still not set. Though I can view the headers, including the one I set, with HttpFox. $_SERVER[REDIRECT_STATUS] is set when .htaccess throws(?) an ErrorDocument, like ErrorDocument 404 for example. Any ideas how to get wamp server to set the variable $_SERVER[REDIRECT_STATUS] with every request?

  • Command output as string

    - by rik
I want to get output from command C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -version as string variable. I tried this way: $out = &"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -version but it gives error message: java.exe : java version "1.7.0_05" At line:1 char:9 + $out = & <<<< "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -version + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (java version "1.7.0_05":String) [], RemoteException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NativeCommandError Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_05-b05) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 23.1-b03, mixed mode, sharing) $out variable seems empty. • Percona system tables corrupted.

    - by Anand Jeyahar
I am having problems setting up mysql replication with a percona as server. accidentally, took a full dump from mysql and restored it on percona and then started, the replication. now when i stop slave and start slave, i am getting the error "[ERROR] Failed to open the relay log './s5-bin.000003' (relay_log_pos 2029993) 110103 9:15:59 [ERROR] Could not find target log during relay log initialization " But show local variables shows the relay_log variable as set in the cnf file.. But the relay-log variable is set to slave-relay-bin alright. I am able to start mysql as a service. But mysqld_safe fails with error "110103 9:19:39 [ERROR] /usr/sbin/mysqld: Can't create/write to file '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid' (Errcode: 2) 110103 9:19:39 [ERROR] Can't start server: can't create PID file: No such file or directory " Am now lost as to what is the problem.

  • "service"-command and environment variables

    - by varesa
I am trying to start a service that requires a env. variable to be set to certain path. I set this variable in "/etc/profile.d/". However when I start this service using the service command, it doesn't work. man service: service runs a System V init script in as predictable environment as possible, removing most environment variables and with current working directory set to /. So it seems that service is removing my variables. How should I set the variables up to keep them from being removed. Or is that something i should not do. I could start the service manually using the init-scripts, or even hardcode the path into the script, but I'd like to know how to use it with the service command.

  • Mac OS X 10.6 executable not found without full path

    - by Danack
I just installed Apache via MacPorts. It seems that my Mac was absolutely confused about which version of the Apache executables to run. After moving the Apache executables that ship with the Mac to a directory that is not listed in the PATH variable, trying to run the httpd built by MacPorts fails even though the correct directory (/opt/local/apache2/bin) is listed in the PATH variable. If I navigate to the directory /opt/local/apache2/bin and type the command httpd I still get the error message -bash: httpd: command not found If I type the command with the full path /opt/local/apache2/bin/httpd it works fine. I've run the command alias to see if something was clashing but the only thing listed is: alias wget='curl -O' How do I find what is intercepting the command and preventing the executable being found in the directory, even when I'm inside the same directory? By the way, the httpd file is executable: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 442496 9 May 2012 httpd

  • How can I make .vimrc read from an external file?

    - by GorillaSandwich
I'd like to modify my .vimrc to read the value of a variable from an external file. How can I do this? Specifically, a friend and I share a git repo with our .vim files, but there are a few small differences in what we want in our configs. So most of the file is common, but we use if statements to determine whether to load user-specific sections, like this: let whoami = "user2" if whoami == "user1" ... After checking our common .vimrc out of source control, we each have to change the let whoami assignment so our own section will be loaded. Instead, I'd like to keep a separate file, which can be different for each of us, and from which vim will load that variable value. Maybe another angle on this is: Will vim automatically read all the files in my .vim directory? If so, we could each put a symlink in there called username.vim, and link that to an external file that would be different for each of us.

  • BASH_ENV ignored on solaris?

    - by Peeter Joot
In my .bash_profile, executed for both my interactive and non-interactive logins are BASH_ENV=$HOME/.myinteractivestuff export BASH_ENV doing this for bash on Linux works fine, but on Solaris is not sourced: bash --version GNU bash, version 3.00.16(1)-release (sparc-sun-solaris2.10) Curiously, if I invoke screen within my login shell, BASH_ENV is then read. Are any restrictions on when $BASH_ENV is respected on Solaris? In my case I'm logging in with ssh using putty, but also tried unix to unix ssh, and telnet and see the same. Note that I know that my BASH_ENV variable assignment is being executed since I can echo this variable after login without any trouble (ie: ruling out the obvious possibility that my .bash_profile is also not being read).

  • Suhosin per-URL exceptions?

    - by STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
I am using SimpleID as my OpenID provider and it turns out that if I log on via pages like those on StackExchange, one of the parameters of the GET request gets dropped by Suhosin. The name of the variable is s and I presume it's responsible for the "return to URL" part after login. All of this is not a problem as long as I am already logged into SimpleID from before. However, as soon as the site on which I want to log in via OpenID ends up at the login screen of SimpleID, the redirect back to the site I came from does not work anymore due to the dropped variable. Is there a method to configure either on a per-virtual-host or per-URL basis to ignore the maximum length for GET requests with a parameter s exceeding the (globally) set limit? I'm using Apache 2.2, so I was wondering whether a mechanism similar to setting the PHP ini variables from within the server configuration exists for Suhosin.

  • Make nginx avoid cache if response contains Vary Accept-Language

    - by gioele
The cache module of nginx version 1.1.19 does not take the Vary header into account. This means that nginx will serve the same request even if the content of one of the fields specified in the Vary header has changed. In my case I only care about the Accept-Language header, all the others have been taken care of. How can I make nginx cache everything except responses that have a Vary header that contains Accept-Language? I suppose I should have something like location / { proxy_cache cache; proxy_cache_valid 10m; proxy_cache_valid 404 1m; if ($some_header ~ "Accept-Language") { # WHAT IS THE HEADER TO USE? set $contains_accept_language # HOW SHOULD THIS VARIABLE BE SET? } proxy_no_cache $contains_accept_language proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_pass http://localhost:8001; } but I do not know what is the variable name for "the Vary header received from the backend".

  • Path erased in Debian

    - by Lyon83

I was trying to fox a problem with some GEMs and in the process I put executed this in console: export PATH=/var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/:${vendor/cache} Now my path environmental variable is gone, or at least its content. My server is running under Debian 6. Is there a way to recover my path info? Or at least can someone point me where to find the file where that variable i s stored? Some help please. This is a BIG problem for me. Thanks in advance!

  • Is it possible to get the matched regex from within the apache LocationMatch directive?

    - by tftd
I'm wondering if the following code should be working: <LocationMatch "/(.*)([/])?(.*)"> Order allow, deny Allow from all AuthType Basic AuthName "Git" AuthUserFile /git/.htpasswd AuthGroupFile /git/.htgroup Require group $1 </LocationMatch> What I am trying to achieve with this is to require a group based on the first regex variable. So if the user goes to http://localhost/a-repository-name he has to be in the group a-repository-name to be able to open the url. For some reason I can't get this code working and apache returns: Authorization of user **** to access /a-repository-name failed, reason: user is not part of the 'require'ed group(s). I guess it's not matching against the proper variable at Require group $1. Is this the right way to be done or I'm missing something?

  • Multiple variables for the same command

    - by Lowzenza
I'm new to cmd and was wondering if there's an easier way of retpying a variable in a command. For example, I have to do two commands for a set of 96 files and each time I would hit the up arrrow key, get my old commands back and change a variable from 1 to 2, then 2 to 3 and so forth. i.e.: Desktop\InitialProcess_230 Process230input.fasta -output Process230.fasta Then each time I want to do the next file which would be InitialProcess_231 and so on, I would change that in the command by scrolling along and removing 0 and putting a 1. Doing that for almost a 100 files seems like a hassle.

  • WiX 3 Tutorial: Understanding main WXS and WXI file

    - by Mladen Prajdic
In the previous post we’ve taken a look at the WiX solution/project structure and project properties. We’re still playing with our super SuperForm application and today we’ll take a look at the general parts of the main wxs file, SuperForm.wxs, and the wxi include file. For wxs file we’ll just go over the general description of what each part does in the code comments. The more detailed descriptions will be in future posts about features themselves. WXI include file Include files are exactly what their name implies. To include a wxi file into the wxs file you have to put the wxi at the beginning of each .wxs file you wish to include it in. If you’ve ever worked with C++ you can think of the include files as .h files. For example if you include SuperFormVariables.wxi into the SuperForm.wxs, the variables in the wxi won’t be seen in FilesFragment.wxs or RegistryFragment.wxs. You’d have to include it manually into those two wxs files too. For preprocessor variable $(var.VariableName) to be seen by every file in the project you have to include them in the WiX project properties->Build->“Define preprocessor variables” textbox. This is why I’ve chosen not to go this route because in multi developer teams not everyone has the same directory structure and having a single variable would mean each developer would have to checkout the wixproj file to edit the variable. This is pretty much unacceptable by my standards. This is why we’ve added a System Environment variable named SuperFormFilesDir as is shown in the previous Wix Tutorial post. Because the FilesFragment.wxs is autogenerated on every project build we don’t want to change it manually each time by adding the include wxi at the beginning of the file. This way we couldn’t recreate it in each pre-build event. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><Include> <!-- Versioning. These have to be changed for upgrades. It's not enough to just include newer files. --> <?define MajorVersion="1" ?> <?define MinorVersion="0" ?> <?define BuildVersion="0" ?> <!-- Revision is NOT used by WiX in the upgrade procedure --> <?define Revision="0" ?> <!-- Full version number to display --> <?define VersionNumber="$(var.MajorVersion).$(var.MinorVersion).$(var.BuildVersion).$(var.Revision)" ?> <!-- Upgrade code HAS to be the same for all updates. Once you've chosen it don't change it. --> <?define UpgradeCode="YOUR-GUID-HERE" ?> <!-- Path to the resources directory. resources don't really need to be included in the project structure but I like to include them for for clarity --> <?define ResourcesDir="$(var.ProjectDir)\Resources" ?> <!-- The name of your application exe file. This will be used to kill the process when updating and creating the desktop shortcut --> <?define ExeProcessName="SuperForm.MainApp.exe" ?></Include> For now there’s no way to tell WiX in Visual Studio to have a wxi include file available to the whole project, so you have to include it in each file separately. Only variables set in “Define preprocessor variables” or System Environment variables are accessible to the whole project for now. The main WXS file: SuperForm.wxs We’ll only take a look at the general structure of the main SuperForm.wxs and not its the details. We’ll cover the details in future posts. The code comments should provide plenty info about what each part does in general. Basically there are 5 major parts. The update part, the conditions and actions part, the UI install sequence, the directory structure and the features we want to include. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!-- Add xmlns:util namespace definition to be able to use stuff from WixUtilExtension dll--><Wix xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/2006/wi" xmlns:util="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/UtilExtension"> <!-- This is how we include wxi files --> <?include $(sys.CURRENTDIR)Includes\SuperFormVariables.wxi ?> <!-- Id="*" is to enable upgrading. * means that the product ID will be autogenerated on each build. • Comments syntax for Idoc Script

    - by kyle.hatlestad
Maybe this is widely known and I'm late to the party, but I just ran across the syntax for making comments in Idoc Script. It's been something I've been hoping to see for a long time. And it looks like it quietly snuck into the 10gR3 release. So for comments in Idoc Script, you simply [[% surround your comments in these symbols. %]] They can be on the same line or span multiple lines. If you look in the documentation, it still mentions making comments using the syntax. Well, that's certainly not an ideal approach. You're stuffing your comment into an actual variable, it's taking up memory, and you have to watch double-quotes in your comment. A perhaps better way in the old method is to start with my comments . Still not great, but now you're not assigning something to a variable and worrying about quotes. Unfortunately, this syntax only works in places that use the Idoc format. It can't be used in Idoc files that get indexed (.hcsp & .hcsf) and use the <!--$...--> format. For those, you'll need to continue using the older methods. While on the topic, I thought I would highlight a great plug-in to Notepad++ that Arnoud Koot here at Oracle wrote for Idoc Script. It does script highlighting as well as type-ahead/auto-completion for common variables, functions, and services. For some reason, I can never seem to remember if it's DOC_INFO_LATESTRELEASE or DOC_INFO_LATEST_RELEASE, so this certainly comes in handy. I've updated his plug-in to use this new comments syntax. You can download a copy of the plug-in here which includes installation instructions.
