• Add columns to SqlWebEventProvider

  In an asp.net application, we'd like to use the SqlWebEventProvider to log any Event that occurs during the application lifetime. The problem is that we think that the table aspnet_WebEvent_Event doesn't provide enough columns and should log more information (we need to keep the Logged user). I'm aware that this information could be stored in the "Details" column but it wouldn't then be really simple to filter the results and build reports. So I'm searching for a simple solution to add a column. I wish I could derive SqlWebEventProvider but the methods used to build the stocked procedure parameters are private (PrepareParams() and FillParams()). Any simple solution that doesn't imply to rewrite the entire Provider class ?

  I want to be able to match against all elements in a given context including the context element itself. Here is the code I'm using currently, but it seems inefficient. Is there a better way? • Implementing ma? osx loop device driver.

  Hello, I am aware that there is a native implementation of loop device system on osx, the hdiutil/hdix driver. But due to a number of reasons i need to roll out my own custom loop driver. Since hdix is closed-source can anyone give some starting pointers, links, advises, etc. on the subject? I had expirience implementing loop drivers on linux and windows but i don't really have a clue where to start from on osx. The basic functionality i need to implement is the same: given any file on disk, simulate a virtual block device interface for it. I also would like my loop driver to use all the native partition filter stacking available for real and hdix virtual block devices on osx.

  Hi, I have the following class: public class Item { public Dictionary<string, string> Data { get; set; } } and a list of it: List<Item> items; I need to filter and order this list dynamicly using SQL-Like strings. The catch is, that I need to order it by the Data dictionary. For example: Order By Data["lastname"] or Where Data["Name"].StartsWith("a"). I thought to use the dynamic linq library, but is there any way that my clients can write without the Data[]? For example: Name.StartsWith("abc") instead of Data["Name"].StartsWith("abc") ? • How to include javascript/css once with Struts 1.x

  If this is the wrong approach, please suggest something better, but my current efforts have been trying to find something that exists for a single page load, such that I can cache which javascript/css files have been included so as to only include them once. I thought in a TagSupport subclass I could use (HttpServletRequest)pageContext.getRequest().getParameterMap().put(srcKey,true) but the request is per jsp, not per page load so it was a failure. I could set up a filter in web.xml, but it seems I would have to search the response for duplicates and rewrite the response...pain. I could try to store things in the session, but there are headaches with clearing values... Any help would be appreciated.

• C# winforms: DataSet with multiple levels of related tables

  Hi, I am trying to use DataSet and DataAdapter to "filter" and "navigate" DataRows in DataTables. THE SITUATION: I have multiple logical objects, e.g. Car, Door and Hinge. I am loading a Form which will display complete Car information including each Door and their respective Hinges. In this senario, The form should display info for 1 car, 4 doors and 2 hinges for each door. Is it possible to use a SINGLE DataSet to navigate this Data? i.e. 1 DataRow in car_table, 4 DataRow in door_table and 8 DataRow in hinge_table, and still be able to navigate correctly between the different object and their relations? AND, able to DataAdapter.Update() easily? I have read about DataRelation but don't really understand how to use it. Not sure if it is the correct direction for my problem. Appreciate any advise. • Is this a good way to expose generic base class methods through an interface?

  I am trying to provide an interface to an abstract generic base class. I want to have a method exposed on the interface that consumes the generic type, but whose implementation is ultimately handled by the classes that inherit from my abstract generic base. However I don't want the subclasses to have to downcast to work with the generic type (as they already know what the type should be).   I am adding some code to an existing FreeBSD device driver and I am trying to pass a char* from user space to the driver. I've implemented a custom ioctl() command using the _IOW macro like so: #define TIBLOOMFILTER _IOW(0,253,char*) My call looks something like this: int file_desc = open("/dev/ti0", O_RDWR); ioctl(file_desc, TIBLOOMFILTER, (*filter).getBitArray()); close(file_desc); When I call ioctl() I get: Inappropriate ioctl for device as an error message. Any guess as to what may be doing wrong? I've defined the same macro in my device driver, and added it to the case statement.

This works as intended. My problem is that I now want to turn this single form into a formset. What I can't figure out is how I can pass the affiliate information to the individual forms when creating the formset. According to the docs to make a formset out of this I need to do something like this: ServiceFormSet = forms.formsets.formset_factory(ServiceForm, extra=3) And then I need to create it like this: formset = ServiceFormSet() Now how can I pass affiliate=request.affiliate to the individual forms this way?

  Hello, I was wondering what the best way to do a live character count of an edit-text box is in Android. I was looking at this but I couldn't seem to make any sense of it. To describe the problem, I have an EditText and I'm trying to limit the characters to 150. I can do this with an input filter, however I want to show right below the text box the number of characters a user has entered(Almost like stack overflow is doing right now). If someone could write a small snippet of example code or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance.

• Can FluentNHibernate be used with .Net4?

  I have a WPF application running with .Net3.5 using FluentNHibernate, and all works fine. When I upgraded to VS2010 I ran into some odd problems, but after changing to use x64 variant of SQLite it worked fine again. Now I want to change to use .Net4, but this has turned into a more painful experience then I expected.. First I met a problem which required that I set a [SecurityCritical] attribute. Fine - I fixed this. But the reason this was exposed was because an exception was thrown in the first place. And the exception thrown was the following - when calling FluentConfiguration.BuildConfiguration: FluentConfigurationException unhandled An invalid or incomplete configuration was used while creating a SessionFactory. Check PotentialReasons collection, and InnerException for more detail The inner exception gives us more information: Message = "Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver, NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4." This is what I saw in my own project when moving to VS2010. I have tried changing Fluent to use the x64 variant of SQLite, but this doesn't change anything. Does it sound like it might be related to mixing of 32bit and 64bit assemblies? I see that there are also others that have seen this problem, but I haven't really seen any solution yet. Anyone out there using Fluent with .Net4 and SQLite - on a 64bit machine - successfully? Help! I'm lost...

  Our environment consists of Project Server 2007 and MOSS 2007. We have around 750 projects and lots of "Enterprise Custom Fields" set up to track all of the metadata associated with a project. Our main requirement is to be able to search/filter/group/sort all of these projects by metadata in SharePoint. Our current process involves syncing this custom metadata into a SharePoint list (which requires a LOT of maintenance). Question: Is it possible to leverage SharePoint search to crawl/index these metadata fields in Project Server? How would I go about setting this up?

  Since I can't figure out how to solve my problem presented here I'm thinking for the moment at a temporary solution. How can I make this text entry field to be uneditable. Actually I want to have only the possibility to choose the date from calendar and not to change it manually. TextItem textItem = new TextItem(); textItem.setAttribute("readOnly", true); date.setAttribute("textFieldProperties", textItem); Related link But I have now another issue: The date chooser won't show the date on the text field but Today's date. For example, enter 30/05/2009 on the text field, go to another field, then come back on click on the date chooser and the selected day will be Today's date instead on June 30th, 2009. Which is the reason for this? Can this be solved? Also let's say I let to the user to opportunity to manually modify the date - can I put some validators on it? Thank you.

  Hello, I have a question about the proper, best way to manage the model. I am relative newbie to django, so I think I need to read more docs, tutorials,etc (suggestions for this would be cool!). Anyway, this is my question : I have a python web crawler, that is "connected" with django model. Crawling is done once a day, so its really common to find "duplicates". To avoid duplicates I do this : cars = Car.Objects.filter(name=crawledItem['name']) if len(cars) 0: #object already exists, update it car = cars[0] else: car = Car() #some non-relevant code here car.save() I want to know, if this is the proper/correct way to do it or its any "automatic" way to do it.   Hi, MSDN states that it is possible in .NET to capture the output of a process and display it in the console window at the same time. Normally when you set StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; the console window stays blank. As the MSDN site doesn't provide a sample for this I was wondering if anyone would have a sample or could point me to a sample? When a Process writes text to its standard stream, that text is normally displayed on the console. By redirecting the StandardOutput stream, you can manipulate or suppress the output of a process. For example, you can filter the text, format it differently, or write the output to both the console and a designated log file. MSDN This post is similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/786726/capture-standard-output-and-still-display-it-in-the-console-window by the way.   I'm currently using this code: var gallery = $('ul#gallery').children(); $(gallery).filter(':even').not(':last').hover(function () {$(this).toggleClass('next')}); I'm trying to make it fade this new class in. Currently, there's an <li> with an image in it, no background. When the 'next' class is added, it gives it a background image when hovered over. Is there a way to just fade in the new class without making the image blink/fade at all? Thanks.

Rather than store a map of IP-variant, is it OK to simply turn the IP address into an integer by removing the dots, then use that as the seed for a random number generator?   I have a web app that sends messages to an Amazon SQS Queue. Amazon sqs lib throws a 'AmazonSQSException' since the message contained invalid binary character. The message is the referrer obtained from an incoming http request.   When interviewing entry level developers, I have used the FizzBuzz question as a type of acid test. Generally, I ask for a solution in pseudo-code or any language of their choice. If someone can't answer this question -- or get reasonably close, the interview generally ends shortly thereafter and we don't progress to more interesting code questions. In your opinion, is it fair/appropriate/accurate to filter entry-level staff in this manner? Should the average four year college graduate have a reasonable enough foundation to be able to throw up a pseudo-code solution of FizzBuzz?

Unfortunately, REGEXP does not seem to work for UTF-8 strings as mentioned here So, select * from names where name REGEXP '[[:<:]]Aandre'; does not work if I have name like Foobar Aándreas However, select * from names where name like '%andre%' matches the row I need but does not guarantee beginning of words matches. Is it better to do the like and filter it out on the application side ? Any other solutions?

(If i use select Fruit FROM table WHERE Color = red OR Color = green i get 1 row which is not what i need) I am using PHP with form where user checks different checkboxes that represent different values of the same column.
