• Facebook Connect Publish to Stream: how do I tag a user?

  I have an application that allows martial arts trickers to 'battle' each other by initiating challenges and submitting videos and whatnot. When user A challenges user B, the application posts to the user's wall (the one who initiated the challenge). My question is how do I tag user B in the wall post? It essentially says "challenged John Do to a battle". I'd like "John Do" to link to his profile just like when you manually post something on your wall and use the @ symbol. I hope this makes sense. I've tried standard html for a link, and I've tried FBML. Neither are parsed and only render as plain text on the wall post. Thanks for any help!

• Jqm is not a function

  Hi all, I'm having some trouble with Jquery and JqModal, and I hope you are able to help, since I've been struggling for hours.. Having a single button element with an onclick action running my method "test" (shown below): $('#picture_form').jqm({ajax: '/test.php'}); $('#picture_form').jqmShow(); This will load the ajax content of test.php into my div element picture_form, shown using JqModal as its supposed to! Though when I close this window, and re-clicks the button I'm getting the error: $("#picture_form").jqm is not a function. As a solution I've tried to use the JqModal trigger function, and this leaves me able to open and close the JqModal windows as many times as I want to. Sadly I can only call the 'trigger' using test environment, in my production code I have to open the JqModal window using a function.. Does anyone have a clue why this 'bug' appears when calling the opening when using a function? Thanks in advance

• Retrieve binary data from S3 storage through AWS.NET in C#

  I've tested most of the included samples in the AWS SDK for .NET and they all works fine. I can PUT objects, LIST objects and DELETE objects in a bucket, but... lets say I delete the original and want to sync those files missing locally? I would like to make a GET object (by key/name and bucket ofcause). I can find the object, but how do I read the binary data from S3 through the API? Do I have to write my own SOAP wrapper for this or is there some kinda sample for this out "here" ? :o) In hope of a sample. It does not have to tollerate execeptions etc. I just need to see the main parts that connects, retreives and stores the file back on my ASP.net or C# project. Anyone???

• Impersonation in asp.net, confused about implmentation when used with Active Directory & Sql Server

  I have an internal website that is using integrated windows authentication and this website uses sql server & active directory queries via the System.Directory.Services namespace. To use the System.Directory.Services namespace in ASP.NET I have to run IIS under an account that has the correct privileges and importantly have impersonation set to true in the web config. If this is done then when I make a query against AD then the credentials of the wroker process (IIS) are used instead of the ASPNET account and therefore the queries will now succeed. Now if I am also using Sql Server with a connection string configured for integrated security ('Integrated Security=SSPI') then this interprets the ASP.NET impersonation to mean that I want to access the database as the windows credentials of the request no the worker process. I hope I'm wrong and that I've got the config wrong, but I don't think I have and this seems not to be inconsistent? It should be noted I'm using IIS 5.1 for development and obivously this doesn't have the concept of app-pools which I believe would resolve the problem.

  Hello everyone! First time using this service for a question. I hope I am not asking something that has already been answered. I attempted to find an answer to my question with the search engine but i was unable to. My question is as follows: Using php, javascript, or anything actually, is it possible for me to track how my users are viewing the pages on my blog/website? Specifically, I want to track the time the user's browser spends reading specific sections of my content on the same page. For example, it would answer questions such as: How much time did someone spend reading the introduction to my article vs the conclusion? (located on the same page) Basically, tracking the "eyes" of a web visitor by looking at where the browser is currently scrolled down the page too. I'm sorry if i'm a bit noob! Thanks for any help with my problem you can provide to me! ^_^

• WPF: CollectionViewSource - uneven grouping

  Hi! Im using the WPF-Toolkit DataGrid with an CollectionViewSource as Source. With PropertyGroupDescriptions I can create and display groups in the Grid. My problem is that i cannot create "uneven" groups, like: A A.A A.B B B.A B.B B.B.A B.B.B C D I want some groups that are deeper than other, and some, that are only elements (C and D) and no groups. I hope it is undestandable... Has someone an idea to solve this? Thanks!

• Can I set a property on an object that is only declared on the instance type, when I don't know the

  Let me explain. I have a List into which I am adding various ASP.NET controls. I then wish to loop through the list and set a CssClass, however not every Control supports the property CssClass. What I would like to do is test if the underlying instance type supports the CssClass property and set it, but I'm not sure how to do the conversion prior to setting the property since I don't know the type of each Control object. I know that I can use typeof or x.GetType(), but I'm not sure how to use these to convert the controls back to the instance type in order to test for and then set the property. Actually I seem to have solved this, so I thought that I would post the code here for others. foreach (Control c in controlList) { PropertyInfo pi = c.GetType().GetProperty("CssClass"); if (pi != null) pi.SetValue(c, "desired_css_class", null); } I hope that this helps someone else as I has taken me hours to research these 2 lines of code. • server|configuration problem, a php script just die with no error log & no reason

  Hi (first of all, thanks for your attention & sorry for my bad english hahaha also this is not a programming error, or thats what I think, I think this is an error in some configuration of the server or something else but I dont know what) I have a php script (is running like a process of linux, its not running on the web browser) that send SMS via SMPP on the port 2055 (using sockets in php) & then inserts like 10,000 rows into a dababase on MySQL, the script gets the data from a XML file; firts it was running in a shared server (Hostgator is our hosting provider) & at the begining it worked fine, with no trouble, but 5 months later an error appear, the process just die with no reason, the script only sent & inserted 700 rows in the table of the database & the process didnt show any warning or error, nothing appears in the error logs, & I didnt make any change in the script Hostgator never helped us hahaha so we decided to move the script from the shared server to a dedicated server; I thought it was a memory problem or something like that, but when we move the script to the dedicated server the problem just get worse, the script die when has just sent & inserted 40 to 50 rows to the database the information about this error: the shared server is on Red Hat 4.1.2-46 & the dedicated server is on CentOS 5.4 I have commented the line that sends the SMS, & the problem remains in the shared server, at the begining the script was fine, but then the script started to die when has just inserted 700 aprox. in the database, & now the script is dying when has inserted 2500 rows, its better but we didnt change anything in the dedicated server, the script dies when has just inserted like 40 row in the table the script, before it dies, change to a zombie process & we dont know why the usage of memory appears to be 0.3%, and of the cpu appears to be 0.7% to 1% I have changed the max memory limit of php to 128Mb, and even to -1 (so php wont have any limit) but the problem remains we have the limit of 50 connections of mysql at the same time, so I think this is not the problem Im using mysqli to connect from php to mysql Hostgator report that they haven't made any change or update in the servers what could be the problem?? what should I do??? what should I search??? is something in the logic Im missing?? what steps do I have to follow when managing & searching problems of process on Linux??? thank you very much, I think this is not a programming problem, but you have more experience than me, you can tell me thanks!!! bye!!! :)

• Problem requesting a HTTPS with TCL

  Hi Everybody, I'm trying to do the following request using TCL (OpenACS) http::register https 443 tls::socket set url "https://encrypted.google.com" set token [http::geturl $url -timeout 30000] set status [http::status $token] set answer [http::data $token] http::cleanup $token http::unregister https The problem is that when I read the $status variable I get "eof" and the $answer variable becomes empty. I tried enabling tls V.1 http::register https 443 [list tls::socket -tls1 1] and it works only for the site https://www.galileo.edu, but not for https://encrypted.google.com. The site what I'm trying to connect is https://graph.facebook.com/me/feed?access_token=... but it doesn't work. I used curl to retrieve the contents of the pages in HTTPS and it works, I have installed OpenSSL, so I can't see the problem, there is another way to do HTTPS connections with TCL?. I can't see if this is a problem of coding (maybe I'm registered wrong the https protocol) or maybe It is a bad configuration of my server. Hope somebody helps!! Thanks!

• Help with complex sql query

  To make story short, i'm building self-learning banner management system. Users will be able to insert these banners to their site when banners will be shown based on sales/impressions ratio. I have 4 tables Banners bannerID int bannerImage varchar.... SmartBanners smartBannerID int smartBannerArrayID int bannerID int impressionsCount int visibility tinyint (percents) SmartBannerArrays smartBannerArrayID int userID int Statistics bannerID int saleAmountPerDay decimal... Each night i need to generate new "visibility" for each SmartBanner based on whole SmartBannerArray that same user has. So i need to get sum of impressions and sales for each bannerID in SmartBannerArray. All comes to my mind is to use double cursor, one will loop thought SmartBannerArrays get needed values for sum of impressions and sales and then inner loop which will access each SmartBanner and change it's "visibility" percentage based on (sales/impressions)/(sumOfSales/sumOfImpressions)*100 Hope you get the picture... Is there any other way to design better tables or not to use double cursor to avoid server overload ?

• C# Threading vs single thread

  Is it always guaranteed that a multi-threaded application would run faster than a single threaded application? I have two threads that populates data from a data source but different entities (eg: database, from two different tables), seems like single threaded version of the application is running faster than the version with two threads. Why would the reason be? when i look at the performance monitor, both cpu s are very spikey ? is this due to context switching? what are the best practices to jack the CPU and fully utilize it? I hope this is not ambiguous.

• call method in a subclass of UIView

  Hey, I've got a UIViewController and an own class, a subclass of UIView. In my ViewController I make a instance of the uiview. If I tap the uiview a function gets called within it and an overlay appears. TO get rid of that overlay later the user has to tap somewhere on the screen(besides the instance of my class) How do I tell my class to dismiss the overlay? I already thought of delegate. So my thoughts were to make a MyUIViewControllerdelegate. If my viewcontroller receives a tap the delegate should be called. THe only problem is how do I tell my subclass that it should receive that delegate? I Have no instance of my viewcontroller in my subclass so I can not set the delegate. Any Ideas?   Hi, i've modeled this: i have an import table, and an import steps table import 1 .. N importsteps Now i have a table importparams, which hold key/value pairs to register all kind of info about the import or the importsteps. So i have modeled a FK in SqlServer which points to the PK of the import table and to the PK of the importsteps table (the ID's for both the import as the importsteps table are guids, so i can query the importparams with either the id from import or from importsteps and get the right importparams). Makes sense a bit? But how can i model this in the EF? I can see it's a bit hard for the EF to model this, because one realtion can point to multiple classes, but is there a way? The workaround normally is just to get all importparams where FK is the ID, but as you know the FK is not available in the EF version 1. I hope you can help me out, michel

  Lately I've been diving into network programming, and I'm having some difficulty constructing a packet with a variable "data" property. Several prior questions have helped tremendously, but I'm still lacking some implementation details. I'm trying to avoid using variable sized arrays, and just use a vector. But I can't get it to be transmitted correctly, and I believe it's somewhere during serialization. Now for some code. The above methods are only responsible for serialization. Unfortunately, the data never gets transferred. Couple of things to point out here. I'm guessing the malloc is wrong, but I'm not sure how else to compute it (i.e. what other value it would be). Other than that, I'm unsure of the proper way to use a vector in this fashion, and would love for someone to show me how (code examples please!) :) Edit: I've awarded the question to the most comprehensive answer regarding the implementation with a vector data property. • NSAlert pops up for 3 times

  Hello community i have a big problem. i implemented an NSAlert in the viewDidLoad() of my app: UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:title message:alertMessage delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:ok otherButtonTitles:nil]; But the Alert pops up for 3 times, and then i can klick on it. Could it be that the viewDidLoad() starts for 3 times?   I need to change the layout of the Search Block in Drupal. It’s currently ordered Search Button ‘Search this site’ Search Input but the designs I have want it to be Search Input ‘Search this site’ Search Button How do I go around changing the order in Drupal? I can change the search-block-form.tpl.php so the submit button is at the end but the ‘Search this site’ always appears before the input and I would like it after. I hope that makes sense. • JQuery animate div "like" a Zoom

  I can never get these to work - sorry - but I I am trying to animate on a mouse over then "re-animate" on a mouse out. I can never get $('#xyz').hover(function(){'something',function(){'somethingelse'}); to work. Hope you guys can help. What I am trying to do is animate + and - 20px (top and left) on some absolutely positioned divs and then add 40px to the width height returning to the original position/width/height on mouse out. I haven't even got to the css widths/heights yet .... • How do I get all values from a listbox that are not selected in ASP.NET MVC

  Hello, I have a form that (amongst other things) contains 2 multi-select listboxes. Basically you can add items to the one on the right from the full list of items on the left using some add/remove buttons. The problem is that I cannot see a way of picking up the contents of the listbox when posting back to the controller. I have followed this example: http://ittecture.wordpress.com/2009/04/30/tip-of-the-day-198-asp-net-mvc-listbox-controls/ This works fine if you have actually selected the items in the listbox before posting. • Overlay image/map on MapView?

  Okay, hope you can help med here :) I have been searching everywhere to figure this out, but haven't had any luck. I know about Annotations and how to overlay them on a map on the iPhone. But what if I have location like in the forest where there arent any roads or anything. What I am asking is, how can I overlay a custom image (map) over the Map view so that it zooms the right way like the map, in the right scale, and can I add my own annotations on top of the custom image/map? Hop I was clear enough on what I am trying to do?

  Hi, I am doing a cool menu (sorta XMB) to give a fresh touch to my app... I add all of the elements on the menu programatically via DB. the menu is designed for easy use with arrows keys but I have encountered a major problem!!! by default when I press the arrow keys they only change the focus based on the tabindex and what I need is to change focus based on position of the controls not on their tabindex hope it is clear... see pic!!! so, Is there any way to do this?

  Hello fellows, what's up? :-) I have one problem and i hope you can help me with it. One friend of mine have a simple solid html website and i implemented little php; CRUD system for articles... problem i came across is placing and getting cyrillic characters from mysql database. What i want to achive is next: In the main navigation there are some separated sections, whose names, ids and item's order i want to place in mysql and than to pull names and to put each name as a link. Names are supposed to be cyrillic characters. The problem comes when i, using php mysql_fetch_assoc function, try to display names which are inserted with cyrillic characters in database row, collation of row is utf8_general_ci, and i end with ????? insted of original characters. If i submit cyrillic characters via submit form to mysql it shows something like this У. How can i solve this, thanks in advance!? :-)

• Help with SQL query (list strings and count in same query)

  Hi everybody, I’m working on a small kind of log system to a webpage, and I’m having some difficulties with a query I want to do multiple things. I have tried to do some nested / subqueries but can’t seem to get it right. I’ve two tables: User = {userid: int, username} Registered = {userid: int, favoriteid: int} What I need is a query to list all the userid’s and the usernames of each user. In addition, I also need to count the total number of favoriteid’s the user is registered with. A user who is not registered for any favorite must also be listed, but with the favorite count shown as zero. I hope that I have explained my request probably but otherwise please write back so I can elaborate. By the way, the query I’ve tried with look like this: SELECT user.userid, user.username FROM user,registered WHERE user.userid = registered.userid(SELECT COUNT(favoriteid) FROM registered) However, it doesn’t do the trick, unfortunately Kind regards Mestika
