• How to display unique success messages on jquery form validation

  Hi guys, hope you can help me on this one, I'm currently using this: jQuery plugin:validation (Homepage) I've been reading related questions here, but this one is the closest get. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1863448/jquery-validation-on-success from the plugin's documentation http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Validation/validate#toption success String, Callback If specified, the error label is displayed to show a valid element. If a String is given, its added as a class to the label. If a Function is given, its called with the label (as a jQuery object) as its only argument. That can be used to add a text like "ok!". Currently I'm only object given to me is the label, and I can only add text to it. Now what I want is to have unique success message. For example: username field will have a success message: 'username okay!' email = 'email seems right' something along those lines, instead of displaying just one generic success message on all the fields. • "Could not find the main class: bla.bla.yada", although specified correctly in the MANIFEST.MF

  Hi, I'm trying to run a .jar file with the command "java -jar Filename.jar", but I am always getting an error saying "Could not find the main class: bla.bla.yada". I build the whole application with Maven and specified a Main-Class in the MANIFEST.MF. The path in the file is correct and the class also exists at the right location in the jar. The ending .class is omitted in the MANIFEST.MF. I hope this is correct. Do you have any other hints?

• jQuery, drop image on overlaping target

  I am using jQuery to detect drop on target, the target in question is a image. If i drag one image upon another, and then drop it, it shall replace the target source with the dropped source. This works fine until two images lies upon each other. Some of the images lies next to each other and some times the target images overlap. if i drop, both the visible image and the image beneath is replaced with the dragged image. I hope the problem is clear and their is any good solution

• C++ enumerations and compiler dependency

  I currently have code with an enum where one value is set and the rest are left to be set by the compiler using the previous value +1, or so I hope. Is this functionality within an enumerated type compiler dependant, an example is below to clarify. enum FUNC_ERROR_CODE { FUNC_SUCCESS, FUNC_ERROR_1 = 24, FUNC_ERROR_2, FUNC_ERROR_3 } Is it safe to assume that FUNC_ERROR_2 will have the value 25 and FUNC_ERROR_3 will have the value 26, regardless of compliler used. I'm coding this so as a function can return an integer value, 0 is always success and any other value can signify failure.

• Adding HTML to the DOM through the client.

  Hi all Just wanted your views on the most efficient way to render content on demand, the reason this has come to light is that I'm maintaining a AA compliant website and we recently added video to it, and one of the techniques to avoid invalidation was to add the HTML for the video to the DOM after the page has loaded - which is fine and working ok. However, I found 2 possible techniques and I would appreciate some views, the one I'm currently using is an AJAX call that returns the HTML, the other technique is a hidden field that contains the HTML - I'm presently using the former. The main reason I'm asking the question is because there may be times when this particular control is also requested via an AJAX call, so I would end up with back-to-back AJAX calls, which seems a bit inefficient to me. I hope this makes sense, are there any better techniques to achieve this? Am I worrying too much over the consecutive AJAX calls? Thanks

• iPhone: UIImageView not showing images

  Hello, I've got UIImageView drawn in my nib-file and it's connected to a imageView iboutlet. I can load single pictures which will show up very nicely, but when it comes to drawing many images separately as like an animation, images won't show. I've got drawImage() function which takes NSData-objects(image data) and draws it to a screen(imageView). Main function has got for loop which loops 300 times as quickly as it can and each time it calls that drawImage function and passes different image data to it. Sometimes when I execute this code, last picture from that "animation" shows up, sometimes not at all. Maybe I need to schedule enough time for imageView so that the image can be shown? Hope someone has some clues. Thanks in advance!

• Can someone recommend a resource/site/book to improve problem solving skills

  I am a reasonably experienced developer (.NET, c#, asp.NET etc) but I'd like to hone my problem solving skills. I find that when I come up against a complex problem I sometimes implement a solution that I feel could have been better had I analyzed the problem in a different way. Ideally what I am looking for is a resource of some type that has 'practice problems and solutions' as I think my skills will only get better by practicing this more and adopting better practices.   Hey Guys, i have a big Joomla 1.5 Problem. I'll create my own Gallery Component/PlugIn and want to add an AJAX Sorting possibility. In the Backend i want to reorder the Images by Drag&Drop in an Gallery. It works, but for the Output i have the following Problem: I send the AJAX Request to index.php?option=com_cwgallery&controller=gallerie&task=ajax As i told you, it works, but i want to display the result in a Layer. But Joomla always sends the complete Template and the Result back. How can i disable sending the Admin Template??? Hope you understand what i mean? Thanks, Sascha

• meta refresh for redirection not working in BlackBerry

  Hi.. I asked this question here but don't get reply so far. I hope posting it too here is ok. For page redirection, in a mobile site development, I am using <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=/pagetwo.jsp"/> because it is required to work when Javascript is off. However, I find it working only in BlackBerry (BB) simulator, not in real BB (I tried with BB 8250 and 9700). Could anyone help me please, what could be the reason. Thanks.

• Virtual StringTree's hint windows are left out on the screen

  Hi, See this screenshot, in the middle it's the small hint windows that are generated by a TVirtualStringTree control and were left out on the screen, these hint windows will remain there until the application exits. the problem happens when the treeview's hint is shown and the mouse leaves quickly to the window next to it. Any idea about how to avoid this or how to clear those un-erased hint windows if it's difficult to avid this? Few days ago I asked a similar question, while the hint windows in the screenshots look the same, the are not the same problem. That problem, the hint text never shows and only that kind of uncompleted hint windows are shown; This problem, the hint text shows but the hint windows are not completely erased in a case (as I described above).   The main concept goes like this. I have four listviews with its own data loaded at the same time. Only one listview will be visible to the user. Now, when the user presses a button, not only the current listview but also other three listviews should be minimized and then user can just scroll just as in Gallery and select the listview that one wants to open. • Accessing HTML 5 Video Progress Event with jQuery

• How to use MOV instruction in ARM with an immediate number as the second operand

  Hi everyone: I just begin to study ARM assembly language, and am not clear about how to use MOV to transfer an immediate number into a register. From both the ARM reference manual and my textbook, it's said that range of immediate number following MOV instruction is 0-255. But when I test on my own PC in ADS 1.2 IDE, instruction MOV R2, #0xFFFFFFFF performs well. Isn't number 0xFFFFFFFF out of range according to the specification? Hope someone can give me a hand. • Kohana 3 and CRON always accessing index.php (not following the URI argument)

  OK, I hope this is my last question about CRON jobs and Kohana 3. Note: others are not duplicates, just other problems. Here is my CRON job (setup in cPanel) php /home/user/public_html/index.php --uri=properties/update As per this answer. I have set it up so it emails me the output. It is running every 5 mins. Unfortunately, it always emails me the source of the home page of my site (index.php or /). I can access that URL fine in my browser, i.e. http://www.example.com/properties/update and it works and does it's job correctly. I can tell the Cron is never hitting the script because I have a file logger in place. Would this have anything to do with .htaccess? Has this happened to anyone before, and how did they fix it? ContentPane is container that contain JLabel that has contents(text, button, radio etc...). I don't know this is correct T.T Why I ask this is I failed combine the contents. • Using set with values from a table

  I'm writing a database of all DVDs I have at home. One of the fields, actors, I would like it to be a set of values from an other table, which is storing actors. So for every film I want to store a list of actors, all of which selected from a list of actors, taken from a different table. Is it possible? How do I do this? It would be a set of foreign keys basically. I'm using a MySQL database for a Django application (python), so any hint in SQL or Python would be much appreciated. • SQL Server 2008 automated database drop, create and fill

  For the database in my project I have a drop/create script for the database, a script for creating tables and SPs and an Access 2003 .mdb file with some exported values. To set up the database from scratch I can use my SQL management studio to first run one script, then the other and lastly manually run the sort of tedious import task. But I would like to do this as automated as possible. Hopefully something like putting the three files in a folder along with a fourth script to execute. Looking something like: run script "dropcreate.sql" run script "createtables.sql" import "values.mdb" How is this done? I hope to avoid using SSIS and the like. The tricky this is of course the import of data, where I can't seem to find a simple way. It is also important that the files a left as they are and not embedded into anything.

  I'm not a developer by profession. Therefore, I'm not exposed to real world technical problems that face professional developers. I read/heard about web farms, integration between different systems, load balancing ... etc. Therefore, I was wondering if there are ways for the individual developer to create an environment that simulates real world situations with minimal number of machines like: web farms & caching simulating many users accessing your website (Pressure tests?) Performance load balancing anything you think I should consider. By the way, I have a server machine and 1 PC. and I don't mind investing in tools and software. PS. I'm using Microsoft technologies for development but I hope this is not a limiting factor. Thanks
