    Hi guys. Try test this code in IE 6/7: <html> <head> <title>Title</title> </head> <body> <ul> <li style="float:left">huisashaiuhs iuhuiahsiuhsaiu</li> </ul> </body> </html> Where is the circle of LI? I already do ALL types of workaround, in UL and LI. Nothing, NOTHING works. Do you have any idea? (BTW already tried hasLayout,padding-left,margin-left,display:inline, etc etc etc)

  • Tiled Image for background of DIV is making IE sllllowww when scrolling

    Take a look at http://www.pmverge.com at the "We're in Bootstrap Mode" DIV on the right-hand side. Having that background tile image is causing the IE browser (all versions) to drag when scrolling. What can I do to keep that tiled style but not have it slow down IE. background-image: url(http://blog.pmverge.com/assets/images/background.gif) NOTES Yes this is the Stackoverflow.com engine as I'm licensing it. The background watermark image is not slowing the page down (though it has about 50k).

  • How to suppress javascript errors for sites I'm not developing?

    I like to keep javascript debugging enabled in my browser so when I'm developing my own code I can instantly see when I've made an error. Of course this means I see errors on apple.com, microsoft.com, stackoverflow.com, cnn.com, facebook.com. Its quite fun sometimes to see just how much awful code there is out there being run by major sites but sometimes it gets really annoyed. I've wondered for YEARS how to change this but never really got around to it. Its particularly annoying today and I'd really like to know of any solutions. The only solution I have is : use a different browser for everyday browsing. I'm hopin theres some quick and easy plugin someone can direct me to where I can toggle it on and off based upon the domain i'm on. Edit: I generally use IE7 for everyday browsing

    Hello, I wanted to be able to create a effect identical to CSS3 text-shadow Property, making it available to browsers that doesn’t support this CSS3 Property (like IE 7 and 8). And so I found two plugins: Text Shadow and Drop Shadow Effect. I decided to use Text Shadow, because it was released in the end of 2008, and because it was more straightforward. This worked great for IE8. However in IE7 shadows have twice the distance to the text, and links are weird. IE8 image IE7 image I am searching for a fix, or an alternative to this problem.

  • Twitter widget stops page from rendering in IE 8, anybody know why?

    The widget works fine in Firefox but it completely stops the page from being rendered in IE8.     in firefox I can usee firebug, in chrome I can use the css console. Both to make live changes to css for troubleshooting purposes. However I do not know of a way to do this in IE, which is where I have the most css issues. So, whats the best way to troubleshoot css issues in IE? Thanks!

  • Span with white-space style in IE (7) applied _past_ end of span

    We've got an application where users can enter "notes" into a rich edit control (Telerik's RedEditor, but that doesn't matter here). We had a user enter notes from w/in Safari that had a <span></span> in the middle of the note, and that span had a style on it specifying white-space:pre The HTML of the note was in the form of: <div> This is a note <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span> and here's more of the note. </div> Simple enough, the style should apply to the span, and the span had 4 spaces in it. There should have been 4 spaces in the resulting output. Here's the problem. IE seems to apply that white-space: pre; style not only to the span, but to the enclosing div! Therefore, this long line that should have wrapped since it's not in the span, now pushed the document out until the line fits on the page. What am I missing. I know IE has problems, but this doesn't seem right, even for IE. So, the question(s): 1) Am I correct that the white-space attribute should only have applied to the span? 2) Can this be resolved somehow? Remember, I'm not in control of the content being entered. And it's entered from a mac w/Safari and being viewed in IE.   • JS - Why is this hidden div not showing in IE?

    Hello. I've made a page which should show a div when the user clicks on a input text box. The div will contain more information about the required input, etc. The page works fine on FireFox and the div shows, but when using IE the div just doesn't show. It seems like I've tried everything and nothing has worked so far. This is the page. Maybe you could look at the source and see what I'm doing wrong? If you need me to upload the source as a text file, I can do that. Thanks for the help!

I cannot bind the input types as exceptions because the content editor in sharepoint allows to modify the text in div or paragraph elements etc. The solution is not working in IE8 because the event.target returns the element that is on mouseover when there's no controls that has the focus.   • Strange problem with ie6 messing up layout, and fixing byitself some time after loading

    We have a big ie6 layout problem with a newly launched website: in the header in our homepage, we have a coda-slider, and apparently its messing upt the wole layout of the front page. I have been looking at float and height problems but cannot seem to solve it. Also, the most strange part is that if you wait a while after loading, the layout "fixes itself". Help! The url is the following (without the spaces, sorry) w w w . r e - c r e a r t . c o m Edit: update, it sounds crazy, but if you press control and use the mouse wheel (as if you were zooming in /out in a modern browser, although ie6 doesnt do that) the layout fixes as well. Please help, I am going crazy.

I use the following code jquery('<button/>', {type:'button'}).text(name) However this works in Safari , FF IE8 but not IE7 i tried to use the attr function : jquery('<button/>').attr('type','button').text(name) this does not work either. any ideas what would work? I suppose if I don't assign a type it would default to button but i rather do that thanks for your help

  • Accordion "growing out" from its container - in IE7/8

    I think this problem is best explained by images. This is how my accordion looks: When you click on the small plus/minus icons the slides under each chapter will expand/collapse. However when the content in the accordion grows too tall, it grows out from its container. So if I click on more plus icons the accordion will look like this (not pretty): As you can see, the container is not growing taller together with the accordion and it does not look good. This problem only occurs in IE7 and IE8. It works in Firefox and Chrome.   • nextSibling difference between IE and FF?

    Hi fellows, I just wrote a javascript code for layering in raphaeljs it works perfectly on FF. But it doesn't on IE. The problem is IE returns null for nextSibling for any object. How does one use it correctly, or is there a nextElementSibling call in IE?   • Google Pie Chart and Bar Chart (both Interactive) not showing labels.

    I'm trying to put Google's BarChart and PieChart both the client side version, and i'm experiencing some problems with the labels over the pie and the labels on the left of the vertical axis (of the bar chart). I checked the code a lot of times and it seems to be like that you can see in the examples. I've tried the same page on Firefox and Chrome and it shows the labels without problems. If i try the examples on IE8 the labels are shown but not in my page. Sincerely I've not any idea where to start to fix this thing. Someone can help me or give me an advice? Thanks in advance.

  • CSS not displayed depending on page

    I have a friend that has a really strange issue with my website. When he clicks on http://www.copeo.fr/ the page displays fine but when he clicks on a link like www.copeo.fr/user/ the CSS is not applied even after a refresh. The raw html does display. I asked him to display the CSS that is hosted on amazon S3 hcopeoressources.s3.amazonaws.com/style/futurvert/style.css and it displays fine. The code validates on W3C validator so does the CSS. I am lost what could be the origin of the issue. Could it be its enterprise cache? configuration of IE7 on his machine? If it happens to someone else who could explain the issue to me, I am all hears. Thanks
