  • save data when back button is tapped

    Hi Al, I have a simple navigation based app which has a bunch fo forms in it, I have a method connected to a button that saves data when the button is tapped but I was wondering if I could call the same method when the back button is tapped in the navigation? Just incase a user fails to use the save button. If it is possible, how would I go about it? thanks in advance!

But sadly when i try to extend MapActivity instead of Activity the whole program is getting ruined and showing errors starting from onCreate... Whats the solution and how could i get google maps working in my application???

  • Create an Edit view similar to Contacts App

    I have an edit view in my app which is a instance of UITableViewController and contains one cell with a textfield in a grouped table. At the moment this cell is at the top of the screen and is firstResponder so they keyboard is visible as well. But in all the Apples apps like the Contacts App when you edit a piece of information like an Email it buts both of its rows in the middle between the Nav Bar and the Keyboard not at the top of the screen. How do I achieve this effect? Many Thanks

  • opening iWorks documents in iPad UIWebView

    Hello, I'm writing an iPad application that has a UIWebView which I open word and excel documents in, but I want the user to be able to import those documents into the iWorks applications, Pages and Numbers, just like how you can do it in Safari if you open a document. If you open a document in Safari on the iPad, there'll be a button on the top bar that says "Open in..." and you can choose applications to open in. You get the top bar to appear by tapping on middle of the page. So is there an option you can set to allow UIWebView to show up the bar and automatically detect the content type and populate the list with applications you can import in? Or do I have to build this myself? And if I have to build my own, how do I open URLs to import documents into Pages and Numbers etc? Thanks, -David

    In an iPhone navigation based app, I want to add a second tableview but have its design available in IB. I've added a new empty XIB and dragged a UITableView onto it. I want to setup the layout through IB. I've created a controller for this tableview and set the File's Owner class in IB to this controller. I linked the tableview to File's Owner as well. I set the tableview to grouped in IB. However, that does not translate at runtime. I still have a plain tableview. In fact, none of the Inspector settings work at runtime. What have I missed?

    I'm trying to do something like this: - (void)sectionChanged:(id)sender { [self.view addSubview:loadingView]; // Something slow [loadingView removeFromSuperview]; } where loadingView is a semi-transparent view with a UIActivityIndicatorView. However, it seems like added subview changes don't take effect until the end of this method, so the view is removed before it becomes visible. If I remove the removeFromSuperview statement, the view shows up properly after the slow processing is done and is never removed. Is there any way to get around this?

  • how do I get the program to Know which annotation is selected and be able to access properties of it

    So far my program can display a database of custom annotation views. Eventually I want my program to be able to display extra information after a button on the annotation bubble is clicked. Each element in the database has a unique entry Number, so I thought it would be a good idea to add this entry number as a property of the custom annotation. The problem I am having is that after the button is clicked and the program switches to a new view I am unable to retrieve the entry number of the annotation I selected.   • How to step frames in a movie recorded by iPhone

    Is there a way to have my iPhone program step frame by frame through a movie recorded by the iPhone? What I want to do is have the user record a quicktime movie, then be able to step through the movie frame by frame. Alternately, I suppose if there was a way to extract every single frame from the movie to a jpg, then I could easily step through the pictures. Anyone know of a way to do this??? I suppose the third option (which might not get past Apple's store) is to capture the movie the way the old jailbroken apps did, which is somehow capture the pictures directly from the camera view????     Since i'm working with Titanium i realzed that its current JavaScript Interpreter doesn't accept specific coding-styles. So for for-loops and if-statements i have to have braces, even though i only want to span one line. Furthermore there is more i have to change if i want to use a Javascript Library like underscore.js.   • UITableView scrollable background , UITableViewCell transparency

    Hi! In my UITableView I have custom cells. My UITableView have a repeatable background myTableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage: [UIImage imageNamed: @"backg.png"]]; I set my cells to have their background (clear); UIView *backView = [[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero] autorelease]; backView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; cell.backgroundView = backView; This makes the cell have the same background as the TableView.. Problem is; That seems that every cell loads myTableView.backgroundColor once again. And the background are not being repeatble as it should. I want to have the cells totally with no background at all, instead they loads up myTableView.backgroundColor once again. Here is one example. Can anyone help me?

    Hey all, i am checking for an internet connection by checking for a file on my server. The file only has the word LIVE displayed on the page. No HTML or anything else is there, just the word LIVE. When i run this code, i do get the NSLog as saying "LIVE" but once i go to check it with the IF statement, it fails and i just do not know why???   • handling broadcast reciver

    Hi, I have an app which has MainActivity(without gui.. please just flow with it:) ) now this MainActivity running a service, this service using sendBroadcast() in order to comunnicate with the MainActivity.. now ofcourse i need to registerReceiver in the onResume() of the MainActivity. but i also need to add unregisterReceiver(receiver) in the onDestroy() of the MainActivity. problem is: when i first start that app i need it to up the service, and i dont want the user to lose focus, so i press finish() after i`am starting the service.. but then auto invoked also unregisterReceiver(receiver).. and this is not good for me.. i get error it's said it couldnt find any registerd reciver. so i fixed it by delete this line.. but i am sure its going to 'revenege' me in the future, when/where could i have problem if i wont use unregisterReceiver(receiver).. at the onDestroy() thanks, ray.
