  • Switching application-wide theme programmatically?

    EDIT: Related question here: Multi theme support in android app I'm attempting to get a user-chosen theme and feel like I'm frustratingly close. Defining the theme in AndroidManifest.xml works as it should, but (as best I can tell) can't change based on app preferences: <application android:theme="@style/theme_sunshine" android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> Alternatively, setting it dynamically in each activity also works: someChosenTheme = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this).getString("themePreference", "theme_twilight"); setTheme(someOtherChosenTheme); But that seems messy, and I'd rather set the theme for the entire app in one place. My first thought was to grab the application context as soon as my main activity launches and do it there: getApplicationContext().setTheme(R.style.theme_dummy); As best I can tell[0], this ought to do the trick, but in fact it's not doing anything--the entire app has the default Android style. Is the above valid, and if so, might I be doing something else dumb? I'm working in API level 3 if that matters. Prods in the right direction greatly appreciated!     I'm trying to convert an array of products into a CSV file, but it doesn't seem to be going to plan.   • Canvas draw calls are rendering out of sequence

    I have the following code for writing draw calls to a "back buffer" canvas, then placing those in a main canvas using drawImage. This is for optimization purposes and to ensure all images get placed in sequence. Before placing the buffer canvas on top of the main one, I'm using fillRect to create a dark-blue background on the main canvas. However, the blue background is rendering after the sprites. This is unexpected, as I am making its fillRect call first. Here is my code: render: function() { this.buffer.clearRect(0,0,this.w,this.h); this.context.fillStyle = "#000044"; this.context.fillRect(0,0,this.w,this.h); for (var i in this.renderQueue) { for (var ii = 0; ii < this.renderQueue[i].length; ii++) { sprite = this.renderQueue[i][ii]; // Draw it! this.buffer.fillStyle = "green"; this.buffer.fillRect(sprite.x, sprite.y, sprite.w, sprite.h); } } this.context.drawImage(this.bufferCanvas,0,0); } This also happens when I use fillRect on the buffer canvas, instead of the main one. Changing the globalCompositeOperation between 'source-over' and 'destination-over' (for both contexts) does nothing to change this. Paradoxically, if I instead place the blue fillRect inside the nested for loops with the other draw calls, it works as expected... Thanks in advance!

  • Add new element in existing object

    I am using node.js. I have to add new elements in the object before to send a response to client. user.getMatch(req.user, function(err, match){ for( k=0; k<match.length; k++){ var userId = { id : match[k].match_id }; var user = new User(userId); console.log('k: ' + k); user.getUserInfo(function(err2, info){ console.log('k here: ' + k); if(info){ match[k].foo = info[0].foo; } }); } var response = { data : match }; res.json(response); }); I want to add an element "foo" from user.getUserInfo to the object "match" that was returned by user.getMatch. And then send all the data as response to the client. But it got an error because "k" inside of user.getUserInfo is not equal to the "k" outside. I do not know why the both "k" are not equal. And how will I send a response to the client after performing the loop. Thanks for your help!

  • Is it best to make fewer calls to the database and output the results in an array?

    I'm trying to create a more succinct way to make hundreds of db calls. Instead of writing the whole query out every time I wanted to output a single field, I tried to port the code into a class that did all the query work. This is the class I have so far: class Listing { /* Connect to the database */ private $mysql; function __construct() { $this->mysql = new mysqli(DB_LOC, DB_USER, DB_PASS, DB) or die('Could not connect'); } function getListingInfo($l_id = "", $category = "", $subcategory = "", $username = "", $status = "active") { $condition = "`status` = '$status'"; if (!empty($l_id)) $condition .= "AND `L_ID` = '$l_id'"; if (!empty($category)) $condition .= "AND `category` = '$category'"; if (!empty($subcategory)) $condition .= "AND `subcategory` = '$subcategory'"; if (!empty($username)) $condition .= "AND `username` = '$username'"; $result = $this->mysql->query("SELECT * FROM listing WHERE $condition") or die('Error fetching values'); $info = $result->fetch_object() or die('Could not create object'); return $info; } } This makes it easy to access any info I want from a single row. $listing = new Listing; echo $listing->getListingInfo('','Books')->title; This outputs the title of the first listing in the category "Books". But if I want to output the price of that listing, I have to make another call to getListingInfo(). This makes another query on the db and again returns only the first row. This is much more succinct than writing the entire query each time, but I feel like I may be calling the db too often. Is there a better way to output the data from my class and still be succinct in accessing it (maybe outputting all the rows to an array and returning the array)? If yes, How?

  • AS3 and cross-domain

    I think i'm a little confused. I'm loading an swf, located at domainB.com/secondsubfolder, from an swf located at domainA.com/firstsubfolder. I always put the crossdomain.xml near the "loader" swf in domainA.com/firstsubfolder. It seems to not work, except if I put the crossdomain.xml in the root of the loaded content, domainB.com/crossdomain.xml. Did I always do it wrong, or is it because of some server setting? Using another domain for the loaded content, e.g. domainB_beta.com/secondsubfolder on another server just works as usual. Where do I have to look to change these settings? Does it depend on server settings, or am I doing something wrong?   • Bitnami redmine error SVN

    I'm installing the Bitnami Redmine stack (redmine + subversion). Firstly I install configure and test it locally (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS). And everything is OK. I install Bitnami stack on server (Red Hat 4.4.7-4) and configure SVN. I commit files into SVN and connect project into Redmine with SVN repository, but when I try see it Rredmine displays 404 error.     from what i can gather the mailbox bit of the web interface works fine.. when any of the users go to options (top right) and try to use some of the features such as the Organise Mail Delivery Reports to find messages etc... it comes up with a message ..     Hello, This seemed to me like a really simple question that I would be able to answer by myself but I have not been able to find any info on this subject. I have a Cisco ASA 5510 which has 4 FastEthernet interfaces. I was wondering if it would be possible to use 2 or 3 of these interfaces as a port-channel in order to agregate bandwidth for multiple VLANs. I have found no info on the Cisco website nor on Google.     This morning we couldn't receive email from outside our company's domain (domain.com.au), but we can send email to outside (e.g hotmail, gmail, yahoo). When I tried to send email to my work email address using my gmail account, I received this message Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unable to relay for [email protected] (state 14). I tried using telnet to send email, and it works. From everything I've read, it seems like this means I cannot use Kerberos - which is a big problem, because I don't know how to use a linked server without it. Is there any way to connect to a linked server without Kerberos? Exact problem description When I connect to the linked server while sitting in front of my server, it works fine; but when I try to connect to the linked server from any other computer (delegating through my server), it gives the error: Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.     I need to access a Linux box via SSH & Samba that is hidden/connected behind another one. I was thinking that it cannot be done via IP alone? Or can it? Could B say "hi on eth0, if your looking for 192.168.0.2, its here on eth1"? Is this NAT? This is a large private network, so what about if another PC has that IP?! More likely it would be PAT? A would say "hi 192.168.109.15:1234" B would say "hi on eth0, traffic for port 1234 goes on here eth1" How could that be done? And would the SSH/Samba demons see the correct packet header info and work?? IP info :- A - eth0 - 192.168.109.2 B - eth0 - B1 = 192.168.109.15 B2 = 172.24.40.130 - eth1 - 192.168.0.1 C - eth1 - 192.168.0.2 A, B & C are RHEL (RedHat) But Windows computers can be connected to the switch.     I am trying to get a GNU/Linux Bash script to run as soon as a network connection is established on my Raspberry Pi. I tried following the instructions on several pages: I have tried adding my script to /etc/network/if-up.d and running sudo chmod ugo+x on the file. I have tried adding the line post-up <path/to/script.sh> to /etc/network/interfaces I am really quite clueless here.   • SCCM 2007 managing hosts in non trusted forest

    I have an implementation of SCCM 2007 in forest "A" that manages hosts in that Windows 2008 forest. There is another forest/domain, "B", which I have no trust with that I need to manage hosts in as well. I don't need to push out clients from the SCCM console, I am going to install them manually. I just need the hosts in domain "B" to connect back to the forest/domain "A" for management purposes. To date, I have not added any AD objects to domain "B" for hosts to query for site, SLP or management point info. I am installing the hosts with the command line: ccmsetup.exe /mp:SCCM_Server /site:mysite SCCM_Server = FQDN of my sccm server (which is resolvable by the client) There are no ACL's between the two servers. From the logs, I can see the install complete and the client tries to query the local AD for the site info for "mysite" but it can't find it and it stops and never connects. Can anyone give me some direction as to how this should be setup?
