  • On linux how can make a list of files that are owned by a particular owner and then fix the group and owner?

    I have a deep and complex file system where some files have been accidently written by root. I want to change the ownership of those files back to the original owner in one go. I am playing with commands like: find /folder -type f | xargs ls -l | grep "root root" but there is a lot of garbage coming out too. I want to make a list first and then change only the files in that list after confirmation.

  • How do I add categories from another user in outllook 2003 to my list of categories in 2007?

    Hi, I'm sharing a contact list with another user on the network, but I'm using outlook 2007 and the other user is using outlook 2003. The other user has assigned many different categories, but I do not get those categories added to the list of categories I can choose from when adding/editing contacts, I can see certain contacts have those categories. How do I add those categories so I can also add them? The shared contacts originate from the other user. Thanks

    I have a class that has an list<Book> in it, and those Book objects has many many properties. string Subject is one of those properties. I'd like to get an string[] type value that will include all different subjects from all over the list. Is there an elegant way to do it, or I'll have to scan the whole list and enter each subject to it, then remove duplicates?

    I have a User class that has a String username in it. I have a list of users that I'm trying to display in a table using <s:iterator value="users" id="list"> <tr> <td><s:property value="#list.username" /></td> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> </s:iterator> The rows are being displayed the right number of times, so it's iterating through my list properly. However, I don't know how to access the username property to display it. Obviously what I have above isn't correct... Any ideas?

    I need to define a data structure recursively in Javascript. Here is a simple example of a circular linked list: // List a very simplified example of what the actual (non list) code does. function List(f, r) { return function(){ return [f, r]; }; } var head = List('a', List('b', List('c', head))); When this is executed, head in List 'c' is resolved to undefined, not List 'a' as I need. List is an example function that returns a function (It is not an Javascript list that I can append to). I tried to wrap the definition of head is a self executing named function, but that blew the stack when head was resolved. What is the Javascript style solution that I am overlooking?

However, in our current situation I am getting emails that I sent. Is this standard Exchange behavior?     Edit: Added the fact, that the list is sorted, and realizing 'duplicate' is misleading, replaced that with 'redundant' in the title. I have a sorted list of entries stating a production value in a given interval. Entries stating the exact same value at a later time adds no information and can safely be left out. case class Entry(minute:Int, production:Double) val entries = List(Entry(0, 100.0), Entry(5, 100.0), Entry(10, 100.0), Entry(20, 120.0), Entry(30, 100.0), Entry(180, 0.0)) Experimenting with the scala 2.8 collection functions, so far I have this working implementation: entries.foldRight(List[Entry]()) { (entry, list) => list match { case head :: tail if (entry.production == head.production) => entry :: tail case head :: tail => entry :: list case List() => entry :: List() } } res0: List[Entry] = List(Entry(0,100.0), Entry(20,120.0), Entry(30,100.0), Entry(180,0.0)) Any comments?     There are examples online with web select boxes that have a huge list of countries and that probably will be good enough for me to use. However, by Murphy's law, there's bound to be some random country that someone is from and isn't on my list (and probably someone else also ran into this and has updated their local list). Also, when new countries are added, I won't know about it. Basically, I feel it's better practice and a better smell if there is some centralized list of country names that I can use / trust. (also it could set/follow standards for exact namings "United St..." vs "USA" etc.) I would prefer a solution that isn't IIS specific if possible

  • Using the AutoComplete feature of ComboBox, while limiting values to those in the list?

    In WinForms 2.0, a ComboBox has an Auto-Complete feature, that displays a custom Drop-Down list with only the values that start with the entered text. However, if I want to limit valid values to only those that appear in the ComboBox's list of items, I can do that by setting the DropDownStyle to DropDownList, which stops the user from entering a value. However, now I can't use the Auto-Complete feature, which requires user input. Is there another way to limit input to the list, while still allowing use of the Auto-Complete feature? Note that I have seen some custom solutions for this, but I really like the way the matching Auto-Complete items are displayed in a Drop-Down list, and sorted even though the original list may not be. EDIT: I have thought about just validating the entered value, i.e. testing user input if it is valid in, say, the TextChanged event, or even using the Validating event. The question then is what is the expected behavior? Do I clear their value (an empty value is also invalid), or do I use a default value? Closest matching value? P.s. Is there any other tags that I could add to this question?

Can that be done?
