  • Apache POI HWPF Nested Lists?

    - by Mahadevan
    Hi, I used the following code to read list structures from a word file using hwpf. My question is how to read a list structure that is nested ie a list within a list within a list and so on. if (p instanceof ListEntry) { ListEntry entry = (ListEntry) p; outText = entry.text(); outText = "<li>" + outText + "</li>"; // verifca prima e ultimo if (i > 1) { pPrev = range.getParagraph(i - 1); if (!(pPrev instanceof ListEntry)) outText = "<ul>" + outText; } if (i < nParagrafi - 1) { pNext = range.getParagraph(i + 1); if (!(pNext instanceof ListEntry)) outText = outText + "</ul>"; } if (i == nParagrafi - 1) { outText = outText + "</ul>"; }

  • Variable naming for arrays/lists/collections - C#

    - by David Neale
    What should I call a variable instantiated with some type of array? Is it okay to simply use a pluralised form of the type being held? IList<Person> people = new List<Person>(); or should I append something like 'List' to the name? IList<Person> personList = new List<Person>(); Is it generally acceptable to have loops like this? foreach(string item in items) { //Do something }

  • Cleaner/more effective way to use modulus and creating columned lists

    - by WmasterJ
    I currently have a list (<ul>) of people that I have divided up into two columns. But after finishing the code for it I keept wondering if there is a more effective or clean way to do the same thing. echo "<table class='area_list'><tr>"; // Loop users within areas, divided up in 2 columns $count = count($areaArray); for($i=0 ; $i<$count ; $i++) { // get the modulus value + ceil for uneven numbers $rowCalc = ($i+1) % ceil($count/2); if ($rowCalc == 1) echo "<td><ul>"; // OUTPUT the actual list item echo "<li>{$users[$uid]->profile_lastname}</li>"; if ($rowCalc == 0 && $i!=0) echo "</ul></td>"; } echo "</table>"; Any ideas of how to make this cleaner or do it in another way?

  • Python Sets vs Lists

    - by mvid
    In Python, which data structure is more efficient/speedy? Assuming that order is not important to me and I would be checking for duplicates anyway, is a Python set slower than a Python list?

  • Visual studio 2008 - Find in files : lists everything twice

    - by Aheho
    In VS2008, I have a web-site project. When I use find in files and search for a string, the find results window will list every occurence twice. What could be causing this? [EDIT] Below is the screen capture from VS. I was searching for the work CommissionBucketProductID within my website project. Notice that each line is returned twice. [EDIT2] In response to your questions. I am only searching within the project, not the whole solution. I currently don't have these files under VSS, although they were in the past.

  • dictionary of lists of dictionaries in python

    - by Andy
    I'm a perl scripter working in python and need to know a way to do the following perl in python. $Hash{$key1}[$index_value]{$key2} = $value; I have seen the stackoverflow question here: List of dictionaries, in a dictionary - in Python I still don't understand what self.rules is doing or if it works for my solution. My data will be coming from files, and will I will be using regexes to capture to temporary variables until ready to store in the data structure. If you need to ask, the order related to the $index_value is important and would like to be maintained as an integer. Any suggestions are appreciated or if you think I need to rethink data structures with Python that would be helpful.

  • jQuery Connected Sortable Lists, Save Order to MySQL

    - by user300999
    Hello Hoping that using something like this demo it is possible to drag items within and between two columns, and update their order either live or with a "save" button to MySQL. Point being that you can make changes and return to the page later to view or update your ordering. http://pilotmade.com/draggable2.html Doing it for just one column is fine, but when I try to pass the order of both columns, the issue seems to be passing multiple serialized arrays with jQuery to a PHP/MySQL update script. Any insight would be much appreciated.

  • In python: how to apply itertools.product to elements of a list of lists

    - by Guilherme Rocha
    I have a list of arrays and I would like to get the cartesian product of the elements in the arrays. I will use an example to make this more concrete... itertools.product seems to do the trick but I am stuck in a little detail. arrays = [(-1,+1), (-2,+2), (-3,+3)]; If I do cp = list(itertools.product(arrays)); I get cp = cp0 = [((-1, 1),), ((-2, 2),), ((-3, 3),)] But what I want to get is cp1 = [(-1,-2,-3), (-1,-2,+3), (-1,+2,-3), (-1,+2,+3), ..., (+1,+2,-3), (+1,+2,+3)]. I have tried a few different things: cp = list(itertools.product(itertools.islice(arrays, len(arrays)))); cp = list(itertools.product(iter(arrays, len(arrays)))); They all gave me cp0 instead of cp1. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Unpacking Argument Lists and Instantiating WTForms objects from web.py

    - by Morris Cornell-Morgan
    After a bit of searching, I've found that it's possible to instantiate a WTForms object in web.py using the following code: form = my_form(**web.input()) web.input() returns a "dictionary-like" web.storage object, but without the double asterisks WTForms will raise an exception: TypeError: formdata should be a multidict-type wrapper that supports the 'getlist' method From the Python documentation I understand that the two asterisks are used to unpack a dictionary of named arguments. That said, I'm still a bit confused about exactly what is going on. What makes the web.storage object returned by web.input() "dictionary-like" enough that it can be unpacked by ** but not "dictionary-like" enough that it can be passed as-is to the WTForms constructor? I know that this is an extremely basic question, but any advice to help a novice programmer would be greatly appreciated!

  • Convert xs:Enumerations in XSD to dropdown lists in Excel

    - by ashwnacharya
    I have an XSD file which contains the schema for my XML. The XSD file contains an xs:Enumeration definition, which allows me to choose between 5 options as a value for one of the nodes. Now, we want to be able to generate this data through Excel, so that non techie people can create it... When I import this XSD file into Excel, i want the xs:enumeration values to be listed as dropdowns. How do I get to do that? Edit: Starting a bounty. To win, I need a working sample code for this :)

  • Python OOP and lists

    - by Mikk
    Hi, I'm new to Python and it's OOP stuff and can't get it to work. Here's my code: class Tree: root = None; data = []; def __init__(self, equation): self.root = equation; def appendLeft(self, data): self.data.insert(0, data); def appendRight(self, data): self.data.append(data); def calculateLeft(self): result = []; for item in (self.getLeft()): if (type(item) == type(self)): data = item.calculateLeft(); else: data = item; result.append(item); return result; def getLeft(self): return self.data; def getRight(self): data = self.data; data.reverse(); return data; tree2 = Tree("*"); tree2.appendRight(44); tree2.appendLeft(20); tree = Tree("+"); tree.appendRight(4); tree.appendLeft(10); tree.appendLeft(tree2); print(tree.calculateLeft()); It looks like tree2 and tree are sharing list "data"? At the moment I'd like it to output something like [[20,44], 10, 4], but when I tree.appendLeft(tree2) I get RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded, and when i even won't appendLeft(tree2) it outputs [10, 20, 44, 4] (!!!). What am I missing here? I'm using Portable Python 3.0.1. Thank you

  • Working with arrays of lists pattern in java

    - by Mad Wombat
    I am writing a card game in java where I need to spread cards from a deck into several columns until I have fixed amount of cards left. This is how I do this. public class Column extends ArrayList {} List deck = Cards.createNewDeck(); Column[] columns = new Column[10]; int c = 0; while (deck.size() 50) { if (c == 10) { c = 0; } if (columns[c] == null) { columns[c] = new Column(); } columns[c].add(Cards.dealTopCard(deck)); c += 1; } This somehow seems clunky. Is there a more readable/comprehensive way of doing the same thing?

  • working on lists in python

    - by owca
    I'm trying to make a small modification to django lfs project, that will allow me to deactivate products with no stocks. Unfortunatelly I'm just beginning to learn python, so I have big trouble with its syntax. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm using method 'has_variants' which returns true if product has any. Then I'm building a list from variants for this product. Next for every product in this list (I've called it 'set') I check it's stock and set bool variable 'inactive' to true if product has no stocks and to false if there are any. Finally if 'inactive' is false I'm setting self.active to 0. Code fails in line with: set[] = s How to correct it ? def deactivate(self): """If there are no stocks, deactivate the product. Used in last step of checkout. """ if self.has_variants(): for s in self.variants.filter(active=True): set[] = s for var in set: if var.get_stock_amount() == 0: inactive = True else: inactive = False else: if self.get_stock_amount() == 0: inactive = True if inactive: self.active = False return 0 error log : Traceback (most recent call last): File "manage.py", line 11, in <module> execute_manager(settings) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/__i nit__.py", line 362, in execute_manager utility.execute() File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/__i nit__.py", line 303, in execute self.fetch_command(subcommand).run_from_argv(self.argv) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/bas e.py", line 195, in run_from_argv self.execute(*args, **options.__dict__) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/bas e.py", line 213, in execute translation.activate('en-us') File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/_ _init__.py", line 73, in activate return real_activate(language) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/_ _init__.py", line 43, in delayed_loader return g['real_%s' % caller](*args, **kwargs) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/t rans_real.py", line 205, in activate _active[currentThread()] = translation(language) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/t rans_real.py", line 194, in translation default_translation = _fetch(settings.LANGUAGE_CODE) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/t rans_real.py", line 180, in _fetch app = import_module(appname) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/importlib.py" , line 35, in import_module __import__(name) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/caching/__init__.py", line 1, in <mo dule> from listeners import * File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/caching/listeners.py", line 10, in < module> from lfs.cart.models import Cart File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/cart/models.py", line 8, in <module> from lfs.catalog.models import Product File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/catalog/__init__.py", line 1, in <mo dule> from listeners import * File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/catalog/listeners.py", line 5, in <m odule> from lfs.catalog.models import PropertyGroup File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/catalog/models.py", line 589 set[] = s ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax

  • Recursive list of lists in XSL

    - by Paul Tomblin
    I have a recursive nodes that I'm trying to set up for jquery-checktree. The nodes look like foo/bar/ID /NAME /CHECKED bar/ID /NAME /CHECKED /bar/ID /NAME /bar/ID /NAME /bar/ID /NAME /CHECKED /bar/ID /NAME /CHECKED Where any bar may or may not have one or more bar nodes below it, but any bar will have ID and NAME and might have a CHECKED. and I want to turn that into <ul> <li><input type="checkbox" name="..." value="..." checked="checked"></input> <label for="...">...</label> <ul> <li><input type="checkbox" name="..." value="..." checked="checked"></input> <label for="...">...</label> </li> </ul> <li>....</li> </ul> I can get the first level by doing: <ul class="tree"> <xsl:for-each select="/foo/bar/"> <li><input type="checkbox" name="{ID}" value="{ID}"> <xsl:if test="CHECKED = 'Y'"><xsl:attribute name="checked">checked</xsl:attribute></xsl:if> </input><label for="{ID}"><xsl:value-of select="NAME"/></label> </li> </xsl:for-each> </ul> But I don't know how to recurse down to the embedded "bar" within the "bar", down to however many levels there might be.

  • Query DNSBL or other block lists using PHP

    - by 55skidoo
    Is there any way to use PHP code to query a DNSBL (block list) provider and find out if the IP address submitted is a bad actor? I would like to take an existing IP address out of a registration database, then check whether it's a known block-listed IP address by performing a lookup on it, then if it's a blacklisted, do an action on it (such as, delete entry from registration database). Most of the instructions I have seen assume you are trying to query the blocklist via a mail server, which I can't do. I tried querying via web browser by typing in queries such as "58.64.xx.xxx.dnsbl.sorbs.net" but that didn't work.

  • Parsec Haskell Lists

    - by Martin
    I'm using Text.ParserCombinators.Parsec and Text.XHtml to parse an input and get a HTML output. If my input is: * First item, First level ** First item, Second level ** Second item, Second level * Second item, First level My output should be: <ul><li>First item, First level <ul><li>First item, Second level </li><li>Second item, Second level </li></ul></li><li>Second item, First level</li></ul> I wrote this, but obviously does not work recursively list= do{ s <- many1 item;return (olist << s) } item= do{ (count 1 (char '*')) ;s <- manyTill anyChar newline ;return ( li << s) } Any ideas? the recursion can be more than two levels Thanks!

  • Problem to generate nested ul lists using PHP

    - by Michael Mao
    Hi all: I am working on a front-end web app where a nested unordered list would be used for the jQuery plugin mcdropdown. Here is the data structure from PHP: a nested array of arrays : Array ( [0] => Array ( [fullpath] => ../foil/alphanumeric/ [depth] => 0 ) [1] => Array ( [fullpath] => ../foil/alphanumeric/letters/ [depth] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [fullpath] => ../foil/alphanumeric/numbers/ [depth] => 1 ) [3] => Array ( [fullpath] => ../foil/alphanumeric/numbers/symbols/ [depth] => 2 ) ) Basically, I took the excellent answer from this question on SO, modified it a bit : global $fullpaths; // $fullpaths contains the above data structure in print_r $result = ''; $currentDepth = -1; while(!empty($fullpaths)) { $currentNode = array_shift($fullpaths); if($currentNode['depth'] > $currentDepth) { $result .='<ul>'; } if($currentNode['depth'] < $currentDepth) { $result .=str_repeat('</ul>', $currentDepth - $currentNode['depth']); } $result .= '<li>'. $currentNode['fullpath'] .'</li>'; $currentDepth = $currentNode['depth']; if(empty($fullpaths)) { $result .= str_repeat('</ul>', 1 + $currentDepth); } } print $result; and got the following output: <ul> <li>../foil/alphanumeric/</li> <ul> <li>../foil/alphanumeric/letters/</li> <li>../foil/alphanumeric/numbers/</li> <ul> <li>../foil/alphanumeric/numbers/symbols/</li> </ul> </ul> </ul> Which cannot be accepted by the mcdropdown jQuery plugin, it expects something like this: <li rel="1"> 'Alphanumeric' <ul> <li rel="2">'Letters'</li> <li rel="3">'Numbers' <ul> <li rel="4">'Symbols'</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> To be frank, I don't quite understand how the answer from that question works, I have been trying to modify that solution to cope with my situation, but still failed. Any help and suggestion is much appropriated in advance.
