    I just migrated a development workstation FROM: Windows XP Pro SP3 with IIS 6 TO: Vista Enterprise 64bit with IIS 7 Since the move, one of my pages that accesses an SQL Server 2000 database is receiving the following error from my ASP.NET 2.0 web page: "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'." I have: enabled Windows Authentication in IIS and web.config disabled Anonymous Authentication in IIS set up Impersonation to run as the authenticated user verified that the logged in user (in this case, me) has access to the appropriate database on the SQL Server verified that my login and impersonation information is correct in the ASP.NET page by checking User.Identity.Name and System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name (both display my username) My connection string using SqlConnection is "Server={SERVER_NAME};Database={DB_NAME};Integrated Security=SSPI;Trusted_Connection=True;" Why is it trying to login with NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGIN? I have to assume it's some setting or web.config entry specific to IIS7 since it worked fine before the migration. NOTE: The SQL Server is Windows authentication only - no mixed mode or SQL only.

    I'm one of those heavy Microsoft Outlook users, currently working on the 2007 version. God knows this tool is heavy and may impose problems. I wondered what the Super User crowd has to suggest in order to improve the usage experience. Several suggestions of my own: Always work in cached mode (Tools--Account Settings--Change--Use Cached Exchange Mode) Use Outlook's local archiving capabilities Use Outlook's RSS reader - it's simple and allows offline access to your feeds If you have e-mail subscriptions to magazines, blogs, etc. - create a subdirectory to keep them, and a rule to automatically move them there when they arrive (one rule per subscription, based on the sender e-mail.) You can also share suggestions that require configuration of Exchange Server, for those of us who can make bring them to their IT managers. What are your suggestions? PS: "Use Gmail" is not an accepted answer, some of us don't control what email system we use...

  • Windows 2000 under Windows 7 Virtual PC not working correctly

    I have just moved my Windows 2000 Virtual PCs from Vista to Windows 7 Professional (64-bit). The machines work to a point but I have found some problems: drive mapping does not seem to work any more. I need this to exchange data. I do not need network access to the virtual PC so would rather leave it unconnected. the virtual PC would automatically shutdown the session and go to the login screen after a few minutes of inactivity. I tried installing the Virtual PC Integration Components but the install failed (one of the messages basically says it's XP+ only). Now I'm stuck in 640x480 mode with mouse capture. I have heard that you can install an older version of the Integration Components but this sounds a bit suspect. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get Windows2000 working with drive sharing on a Virtual PC?

I have a Netgear DGN 2000 modem router on 192.168.0.1 and a Lynksys Phone Adapter PAP2 on 192.168.0.2. I have created 3 new custom services: Service Table Service Name Ports tlenfon(TCP) 5060 tlenfon2(UDP) 15000 tlenfon3(UDP) 35000 I have reserved the address 192.168.0.2 for the PAP 2 I have forwarded the ports for each service to the PAP2 Service Name Action LAN Server IP address WAN Users Log tlenfon ALLOW always 192.168.0.2 Any Always tlenfon2 ALLOW always 192.168.0.2 Any Always tlenfon3 ALLOW always 192.168.0.2 Any Always I have checked the Default DMZ and specified 192.168.0.2 What have I missed?

    Our config is currently: 1 Windows 2000 domain controller running ISA2000, dhcp, dns 1 Windows 2003 domain controller as main file server, prob cert server as well, dhcp, dns 1 Windows 2008/Exchange2010 domain controller as Exchange server, DHCP,DNS Currently getting FRS errors on files server journalwrap error Currently getting FRS errors on othe DC's can't replicate from above Exchange DC holds Schema, rid,pdc, and infastructure roles File Server holds Domain namaing operation master role WOW, I didn't set this up, just inherited it. Am I right to assume that fixing the FRS errors is #1, what do I need to do for that? set enable journalwrap auto restore in registry? Demote W2000 domain controller, should that have any implications for ISA? We have Forefront to be deployed but that's another day Transfer Domain Nameing Role to Exchange server (I know or think having an Exchange server as DC isn't best practive) We will be getting another server W2008 to replace current file server and I thought it could takeover all roles once deployed Demote W2k3 file server and then raise functional domain level to 2008 Am I missing anything other that the sense to walk away?   • How do I open multiple windows when Outlook 2010 starts?

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit App: Outlook 2010 32-bit Server: Exchange 2010 I'd like to modify Outlook's default startup behavior so that it shows both my Inbox and Calendar when I click my shortcut. I use both of them all day, and know how to just right-click the calendar and select "Open in New Window." I run my inbox on one screen and my calendar on another. I also configured my calendar to be the folder that opens by default when I start Outlook so I don't miss early appointments, but if I could somehow have BOTH open in two separate windows, that would be awesome. Is there a command-line interface or something that can accomplish this? Thanks in advance.

  • Downloading content greater than 2000 bytes from local network hangs in browser on Windows XP

    We have web application that runs under Tomcat in a local network. Our customers experience strange problem using this web application. Let's say Tomcat server runs on host1 and we open webapp URL in browser on host2. Any browser on host 2 starts opening page and downloading of content "hangs" for hours. We've made bunch of experiments and found that any content larger than 2000 bytes makes browser request hang. Tried in Internet Explorer 8, Opera 12, Firefox. At the same time if user opens website from internet, it works. Opening webapp from the same host1 where Tomcat is running works normally. Local network is organized with D-Link DGS-3120-48TC switch. Additional info. During experiments we've noticed XP Tweaker installed on hosts. Network settings from that tool: MTU is manually set to 1500 RWIN = 14600 Support of TCP frames larger than 64 KB is on Time to Live = 32 SACK is on

I can't find on the net much information about the relative "compatibility" of SQL2000 on WinSrv2008. Of course I found some obscure answers like : "it's impossible, it's not supported, don't do it".     I have a Windows 2000 Server set up with RAID 5. I initially defined 2 136 GB logical disks 0 and 1. I have a small utility partition on disk 0 along with the C drive. I wish to extend the C drive to use disk 1 as well, which is now configured to drive D. I deleted drive D, but it is still in disk 1. I download partdisk.exe from MS, but am not sure how to accomplish what I want to do. I know I need to use extend, but I think I need to remove disk 1 and somehow add the unallocated space to disk zero, but am not at all confident on how to do it.

    I'm trying to get a service to run under a domain account. When I try to add the account, I get the error The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified I know the account exists and the password is correct. I am also having trouble adding it manually to the "Log on as a service" setting, I get the error An extended error has occured. Failed to save Local Policy Database After a day of research I'm starting to suspect it has to do with it being a 2008 R2 server trying to use a 2000 domain account. I've tried to change the LAN Manager authentication level and the Minimum session security looks okay per my Google digging. I'm not sure what else I can do?

  • Hardware needed for 2000 users? [closed]

    I have school assignment that is fairly well defined, requiring us to come up with a plan for an environment serving dynamic web applications to 2000 users, and should be able to scale up to six thousand. I have done plenty of research as far as load balancing, redundancy, UPSs, etc, but am having a hard time figuring out how much hardware is actually needed in the way of physical servers, ram, processing power, etc. The assignment states that the server will have a lot of dynamic code, email, and a database are required, all utilizing the appropriate microsoft service (MS SQL, Exchange, IIS). I already plan on splitting them out on to separate servers, but can't even fathom the hardware requirements of something that large scale. Could someone with experience weight in on this, or point me two some good articles?

You can click "Send", but the message stays in the (Outbox) until you open Outlook. I'm trying to get around opening Outlook. Anyone have any ideas?

    I have a very simple DLL written in unmanaged C++ that I access from my application. I recently switch to Visual Studio 2010, and the DLL went from 55k down to 35k with no code changes, and now it will no longer load in Windows 2000. I didn't change any code or compiler settings. I have my defines setup for 0x0500, which should include Windows 2000 support. Has anyone else run into this, or have any ideas of what I can do?

My data controls work fine as I have them set to connect in access 2000 format but when I try to open the database in code, I get an unrecognized data format error.     I'm having some trouble understanding Outlook terms (CommandBarPopup, CommandBarButton etc) like what is what in Outlook so please be patient. I would like to create couple of things: I would like to create new group (or just button but i read it's not possible to add a button to an existing group in ribbon) on new mail next to Signature/Add attachment in Message Ribbon. It would have to work the same way Signature works so when you press it it display couple of options. How can i create it? I would like to override a button "NEW" (where you can choose that you want to send new mail, make appointment or do other things) so that when you are in Main Window when you press the down arrow next to new button you could choose one of options i will add? Is this possible? How do I do it?
