  • Show facebook status stream of a dedicated person on a website

    - by Pascal
Hi all, I've been stomping at this all day :( I want to display a status feed of both twitter and facebook on my website. For twitter, this is not a problem, as my account is public, I can easily get the feed. Facebook however, is a whole different story! I can't seem to find an easy way to just get my last status updates and display it on my website. The code I currently have, needs authentication of the visitor, and I don't want that! This is my current code: $facebook = new Facebook($api_key, $secret); $stream = $facebook->api_client->fql_query("SELECT message, source, time FROM status WHERE uid = $user_id LIMIT 6"); I've seen several possible solutions, including the RSS feed, but as Facebook keeps changing the way their site works, none of the previous methods I've seen (including those from as late as januari) currently work! Is there anybody who can provide me with a currently working solution to this (simple?) problem?

  • Online audio stream using ruby on rails

    - by Avdept
I'm trying to write small website that can stream audio online(radio station) and got few questions: 1. Do i have to index all my music files into database, or i can randomily pick file from file system and play it. 2. When should i use ajax to load new song(right after last finished, or few seconds before to get responce from server with link to file?) 3. Is it worth to use ajax, or better make list, that will play its full time and then start over?

  • How to securely stream video from amazon S3

    - by JP.
I have couple of copyright videos available on my S3 buckets. I want to stream them on my website, but at the same time. I don't want the users to rip the video from the video player. I tried to google about it but still i am not confident on this, coz i do not know the intricacies of options available like Server Side encryption None/ AES-256 2) A very interesting option is under Metadata tab - It shows couple of keys & Values. How can i use them to secure my video content? 3) Add more meta data and related options?

  • after dup2, stream still contains old contents?

    - by BobTurbo
so if I do: dup2(0, backup); // backup stdin dup2(somefile, 0); // somefile has four lines of content fgets(...stdin); // consume one line fgets(....stdin); // consume two lines dup2(backup, 0); // switch stdin back to keyboard I am finding at this point.. stdin still contains the two lines I haven't consumed. Why is that? Because there is just one buffer no matter how many times you redirect? How do I get rid of the two lines left but still remember where I was in the somefile stream when I want to go back to it?

  • retrieving 'nulls' from website using Java URL input stream

    - by Roio
hi all, i'm trying to read the text from a website using the Java URL input stream as follows - URL u = new URL(str); br3 = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(u.openStream())); while(true) System.out.println(br3.readLine()); this seems to work fine for most websites, but for some url shortening services like linkbee, the object draws a blank. e.g. http://linkbee.com/FUAKF, i can view the source code using an explorer, however i repeatedly get nulls when i use the above code.

  • How does the stream manipulators work?

    - by Narek
It is well known that the user can define stream manipulators like this: ostream& tab(ostream & output) { return output<< '\t'; } And this can be used in main() like this: cout<<'a'<<tab<<'b'<<'c'<<endl; Please explain me how does this all work? If operator<< assumes as a second parameter a pointer to the function that takes and returns ostream &, then please explain my why it is necessary? What would be wrong if the function does not take and return ostream & but it was void instead of ostream &? Also it is interesting why “dec”, “hex” manipulators take effect until I don’t change between them, but user defined manipulators should be always used in order to take effect for each streaming?

  • C++ - Implementing my own stream

    - by HardCoder1986
Hello! My problem can be described the following way: I have some data which actually is an array and could be represented as char* data with some size I also have some legacy code (function) that takes some abstract std::istream object as a param and uses that stream to retrieve data to operate. So, my question is the following - what would be the easy way to map my data to some std::istream object so that I can pass it to my function? I thought about creating a std::stringstream object from my data, but that means copying and (as I assume) isn't the best solution. Any ideas how this could be done so that my std::istream operates on the data directly? Thank you.

  • How to stream audio from ASP.NET MVC controller when it's still encoding?

    - by kyrisu
Background I have wave files on my server that I want to stream. Because of the size I want to encode them to mp3. I've tried to use FileStreamResult - but it doesn't work because as soon as program leaves the controller stream is closed and I get - "Cannot access a closed stream" FileContentResult - but it's not a stream and the user would need to wait for encoding to finish Question Is there a way to stream audio from the controller while it's still encoding?

  • Default input and output buffering for fopen'd files?

    - by Evan Teran
So a FILE stream can have both input and output buffers. You can adjust the output stream using setvbuf (I am unaware of any method to play with the input buffer size and behavior). Also, by default the buffer is BUFSIZ (not sure if this is a POSIX or C thing). It is very clear what this means for stdin/stdout/stderr, but what are the defaults for newly opened files? Are they buffered for both input and output? Or perhaps just one? If it is buffered, does output default to block or line mode?

  • Library for Dataflow in C

    - by msutherl
How can I do dataflow (pipes and filters, stream processing, flow based) in C? And not with UNIX pipes. I recently came across stream.py. Streams are iterables with a pipelining mechanism to enable data-flow programming and easy parallelization. The idea is to take the output of a function that turns an iterable into another iterable and plug that as the input of another such function. While you can already do this using function composition, this package provides an elegant notation for it by overloading the operator. I would like to duplicate a simple version of this kind of functionality in C. I particularly like the overloading of the operator to avoid function composition mess. Wikipedia points to this hint from a Usenet post in 1990. Why C? Because I would like to be able to do this on microcontrollers and in C extensions for other high level languages (Max, Pd*, Python). * (ironic given that Max and Pd were written, in C, specifically for this purpose – I'm looking for something barebones)

  • Null reading in stream images? Unable to start activity ComponentInfo

    - by lasmith
I have reviewed a lot of similar questions regarding not being able to launch an activity but they don't seem to quite match my problem. I am working on a simple black jack game but its force quitting. I suspect there is a problem with loading up the card png images I have. Stepping through the debugger it crashes right while in the resetGame() function. I'm sure I am doing something dumb. • WCF tcp.net client/server connection failing "Stream Security is required"

    - by Tom W.
I am trying to test a simple WCF tcp.net client/server app. The WCF service is being hosted on Windows 7 IIS. I have enabled TCP.net in IIS. I granted liberal security privileges to service app by configuring an app pool with admin rights and set the IIS service application to run in the context. I enabled tracing on the service app to troubleshoot. Whenever I run a simple method call against the service from the WCF client app, I get the following exception: "Stream Security is required at http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing/anonymous, but no security context was negotiated. This is likely caused by the remote endpoint missing a StreamSecurityBindingElement from its binding." Here is my client configuration: <bindings> <netTcpBinding> <binding name="InsecureTcp"> <security mode="None" /> </binding> </netTcpBinding> </bindings> Here is my service configuration: <bindings> <netTcpBinding> <binding name="InsecureTcp" > <security mode="None" /> </binding> </netTcpBinding> </bindings> <services> <service name="OrderService" behaviorConfiguration="debugServiceBehavior"> <endpoint address="" binding="netTcpBinding" bindingConfiguration="InsecureTcp" contract="ProtoBufWcfService.IOrder" /> </service> </services> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="debugServiceBehavior"> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors>

  • How to append new elements to Xml from a stream

    - by Wololo
I have a method which returns some xml in a memory stream private MemoryStream GetXml() { XmlWriterSettings settings = new XmlWriterSettings(); settings.Indent = true; using (MemoryStream memoryStream = new MemoryStream()) { using (XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(memoryStream, settings)) { writer.WriteStartDocument(); writer.WriteStartElement("root"); writer.WriteStartElement("element"); writer.WriteString("content"); writer.WriteEndElement(); writer.WriteEndElement(); writer.WriteEndDocument(); writer.Flush(); } return memoryStream; } } In this example the format of the xml will be: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <root> <element>content</element> </root> How can i insert a new element under the root e.g <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <root> <element>content</element> ----->New element here <------ </root> EDIT: Also please suggest the most efficient method as returning a memorystream may not be the best solution. The final xml will be passed to a custom HttpHandler so what are the best options for writing the output? context.Response.Write vs context.Response.OutputStream

  • Loading specific icon size into TIcon from stream (Delphi XE)

    - by moodforaday
My application downloads and displays favicons for specific websites. I followed Bing's solution for detecting image format from stream, but have hit another snag. Assuming an actual icon image, the code goes like this: var icon : TIcon; begin icon := TIcon.Create; try icon.LoadFromStream( faviconStream ); spFavicon.Glyph.Assign( icon ); finally icon.Free; end; end; (spFavicon is TRzGlyphStatus from Raize Components. Its Glyph property is a TBitmap) Now, this works, but sometimes the downloaded icon contains multiple images in different sizes, e.g. 32x32 in addition to the expected 16x16. For some reason the control's Glyph property picks the larger size. How can I load only the 16x16 size into TIcon, or from TIcon into TBitmap? Test favicon: http://www.kpfa.org/favicon.ico On edit: If at all possible, I'd rather avoid saving the icon to a file first.

  • Memcache error: Failed reading line from stream (0) Array

    - by daviddripps
I get some variation of the following error when our server gets put under any significant load. I've Googled for hours about it and tried everything (including upgrading to the latest versions and clean installs). I've read all the posts about it here on SA, but can't figure it out. A lot of people are having the same problem, but no one seems to have a definitive answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. • WPF - Transparency - Stream Desktop Content

    - by Niels Willems
Greetings I'm in the process of making a Scoreboard for a game (Starcraft II). This scoreboard is being made as a WPF Application with a C# code-behind. I already have a version which works for 90% in WinForms but I lacked the support to easily make it look a lot nicer which are available in WPF. The point of this application will be to form a kind of overlay on top of a running game. This game is in Fulscreen(Windowed Mode) so when in WinForms I coded it so that it should always be on top. It would do so and that was no problem. Since the main look of the app in WPF is based on an image with a transparent background I have set most Background values to Transparent. However when I do this the entire application does not get registered by streaming software. For example it just shows my Desktop or the game I'm playing but not my application even though it IS there. I can see it with my own eyes but the audience on the stream cannot. Does anyone have any experience with this matter because it's really doing my head in. My entire application will be useless if it is not visible on streams. If I have to put the background on a color rather than transparent the UI will be completely demolished as well in terms of looks. I'm basically trying to make a game-overlay in C# & WPF. I have read you can do this on different ways as well but I have little to no knowledge of C++ nor do I know anything about DirectX Thank you for your time reading and your possible insights. Edit: The best solution would be an overlay similar to that one of Steam/Xfire/Dolby Axon. Edit 2: I've had no luck with all the suggestions so I basically made the transparent bits of my image non transparent and let the user decide which one to use depending on what streaming software they would be using.

  • How to append new elements to Xml from stream

    - by Wololo
    I have a method which returns some xml in a memory stream private MemoryStream GetXml() { XmlWriterSettings settings = new XmlWriterSettings(); settings.Indent = true; using (MemoryStream memoryStream = new MemoryStream()) { using (XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(memoryStream, settings)) { writer.WriteStartDocument(); writer.WriteStartElement("root"); writer.WriteStartElement("element"); writer.WriteString("content"); writer.WriteEndElement(); writer.WriteEndElement(); writer.WriteEndDocument(); writer.Flush(); } return memoryStream; } } In this example the format of the xml will be: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <root> <element>content</element> </root> How can i insert a new element under the root e.g <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <root> <element>content</element> ----->New element here <------ </root>

  • fopen() fails to open stream: permission denied, yet permissions should be valid

    - by about blank
So, I have this error: Warning: fopen(/path/to/test-in.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied Performing ls -l in the directory where test-in.txt is produces the following output: -rw-r--r-- 1 $USER $USER 1921 Sep 6 20:09 test-in.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 $USER $USER 0 Sep 6 20:08 test-out.txt In order to get past this, I decided to perform the following: chgrp -R www-data /path/to/php/webroot And then did: chmod g+rw /path/to/php/webroot Yet, I still get this error when I run my php5 script to open the file. Why is this happening? I've tried this using LAMP as well as cherokee through CGI, so it can't be this. Is there a solution of some sort? Edit I'll also add that I'm just developing via localhost right now. Update - PHP fopen() line $fullpath = $this->fileRoot . $this->fileInData['fileName']; $file_ptr = fopen( $fullpath, 'r+' ); I should also mention I'd like to stick with Cherokee if possible. What's this deal about setting file permissions for Apache/Cherokee?

  • Image.Save(..) throws a GDI+ exception because the memory stream is closed.

    - by Pure.Krome
Hi folks, i've got some binary data which i want to save as an image. When i try to save the image, it throws an exception if the memory stream used to create the image, was closed before the save. The reason i do this is because i'm dynamically creating images and as such .. i need to use a memory stream. this is the code: [TestMethod] public void TestMethod1() { // Grab the binary data. byte[] data = File.ReadAllBytes("Chick.jpg"); // Read in the data but do not close, before using the stream. Stream originalBinaryDataStream = new MemoryStream(data); Bitmap image = new Bitmap(originalBinaryDataStream); image.Save(@"c:\test.jpg"); originalBinaryDataStream.Dispose(); // Now lets use a nice dispose, etc... Bitmap2 image2; using (Stream originalBinaryDataStream2 = new MemoryStream(data)) { image2 = new Bitmap(originalBinaryDataStream2); } image2.Save(@"C:\temp\pewpew.jpg"); // This throws the GDI+ exception. } Does anyone have any suggestions to how i could save an image with the stream closed? I cannot rely on the developers to remember to close the stream after the image is saved. In fact, the developer would have NO IDEA that the image was generated using a memory stream (because it happens in some other code, elsewhere). I'm really confused :(

  • Conceal packet loss in PCM stream

    - by ZeroDefect
I am looking to use 'Packet Loss Concealment' to conceal lost PCM frames in an audio stream. Unfortunately, I cannot find a library that is accessible without all the licensing restrictions and code bloat (...up for some suggestions though). I have located some GPL code written by Steve Underwood for the Asterisk project which implements PLC. There are several limitations; although, as Steve suggests in his code, his algorithm can be applied to different streams with a bit of work. Currently, the code works with 8kHz 16-bit signed mono streams. Variations of the code can be found through a simple search of Google Code Search. My hope is that I can adapt the code to work with other streams. Initially, the goal is to adjust the algorithm for 8+ kHz, 16-bit signed, multichannel audio (all in a C++ environment). Eventually, I'm looking to make the code available under the GPL license in hopes that it could be of benefit to others... Attached is the code below with my efforts. The code includes a main function that will "drop" a number of frames with a given probability. Unfortunately, the code does not quite work as expected. I'm receiving EXC_BAD_ACCESS when running in gdb, but I don't get a trace from gdb when using 'bt' command. Clearly, I'm trampimg on memory some where but not sure exactly where. When I comment out the *amdf_pitch* function, the code runs without crashing... int main (int argc, char *argv[]) { std::ifstream fin("C:\\cc32kHz.pcm"); if(!fin.is_open()) { std::cout << "Failed to open input file" << std::endl; return 1; } std::ofstream fout_repaired("C:\\cc32kHz_repaired.pcm"); if(!fout_repaired.is_open()) { std::cout << "Failed to open output repaired file" << std::endl; return 1; } std::ofstream fout_lossy("C:\\cc32kHz_lossy.pcm"); if(!fout_lossy.is_open()) { std::cout << "Failed to open output repaired file" << std::endl; return 1; } audio::PcmConcealer Concealer; Concealer.Init(1, 16, 32000); //Generate random numbers; srand( time(NULL) ); int value = 0; int probability = 5; while(!fin.eof()) { char arr[2]; fin.read(arr, 2); //Generate's random number; value = rand() % 100 + 1; if(value <= probability) { char blank[2] = {0x00, 0x00}; fout_lossy.write(blank, 2); //Fill in data; Concealer.Fill((int16_t *)blank, 1); fout_repaired.write(blank, 2); } else { //Write data to file; fout_repaired.write(arr, 2); fout_lossy.write(arr, 2); Concealer.Receive((int16_t *)arr, 1); } } fin.close(); fout_repaired.close(); fout_lossy.close(); return 0; } PcmConcealer.hpp /* * Code adapted from Steve Underwood of the Asterisk Project. This code inherits * the same licensing restrictions as the Asterisk Project. */ #ifndef __PCMCONCEALER_HPP__ #define __PCMCONCEALER_HPP__ /** 1. What does it do? The packet loss concealment module provides a suitable synthetic fill-in signal, to minimise the audible effect of lost packets in VoIP applications. It is not tied to any particular codec, and could be used with almost any codec which does not specify its own procedure for packet loss concealment. Where a codec specific concealment procedure exists, the algorithm is usually built around knowledge of the characteristics of the particular codec. It will, therefore, generally give better results for that particular codec than this generic concealer will. 2. How does it work? While good packets are being received, the plc_rx() routine keeps a record of the trailing section of the known speech signal. If a packet is missed, plc_fillin() is called to produce a synthetic replacement for the real speech signal. The average mean difference function (AMDF) is applied to the last known good signal, to determine its effective pitch. Based on this, the last pitch period of signal is saved. Essentially, this cycle of speech will be repeated over and over until the real speech resumes. However, several refinements are needed to obtain smooth pleasant sounding results. - The two ends of the stored cycle of speech will not always fit together smoothly. This can cause roughness, or even clicks, at the joins between cycles. To soften this, the 1/4 pitch period of real speech preceeding the cycle to be repeated is blended with the last 1/4 pitch period of the cycle to be repeated, using an overlap-add (OLA) technique (i.e. in total, the last 5/4 pitch periods of real speech are used). - The start of the synthetic speech will not always fit together smoothly with the tail of real speech passed on before the erasure was identified. Ideally, we would like to modify the last 1/4 pitch period of the real speech, to blend it into the synthetic speech. However, it is too late for that. We could have delayed the real speech a little, but that would require more buffer manipulation, and hurt the efficiency of the no-lost-packets case (which we hope is the dominant case). Instead we use a degenerate form of OLA to modify the start of the synthetic data. The last 1/4 pitch period of real speech is time reversed, and OLA is used to blend it with the first 1/4 pitch period of synthetic speech. The result seems quite acceptable. - As we progress into the erasure, the chances of the synthetic signal being anything like correct steadily fall. Therefore, the volume of the synthesized signal is made to decay linearly, such that after 50ms of missing audio it is reduced to silence. - When real speech resumes, an extra 1/4 pitch period of sythetic speech is blended with the start of the real speech. If the erasure is small, this smoothes the transition. If the erasure is long, and the synthetic signal has faded to zero, the blending softens the start up of the real signal, avoiding a kind of "click" or "pop" effect that might occur with a sudden onset. 3. How do I use it? Before audio is processed, call plc_init() to create an instance of the packet loss concealer. For each received audio packet that is acceptable (i.e. not including those being dropped for being too late) call plc_rx() to record the content of the packet. Note this may modify the packet a little after a period of packet loss, to blend real synthetic data smoothly. When a real packet is not available in time, call plc_fillin() to create a sythetic substitute. That's it! */ /*!
