  In perl, parentheses are used for overriding precedence (as in most programming languages) as well as for creating lists. How can I tell if a particular pair of parens will be treated as a grouping construct or a one-element list? For example, I'm pretty sure this is a scalar and not a one-element list: (1 + 1) But what about more complex expressions? Is there an easy way to tell?

  I'm trying to adopt my development from Spring/Maven2/Tomcat -> Grails, and I'm wondering if there's an easy way to manage dependencies in grails separate from maven. Maven does a lot of the magic that grails is doing automatically (unit testing/building/etc.), so I wonder if there's a need for maven at all in grails projects. So, then, how do Grails users generally manage java dependencies? I've become accustomed to central repository dependency management, and I can't turn back at this point.

  Hi, I have created a menu bar and some menus with Qt creator. One of the menus had to be coded to use QActionGroup features. Now it is easy to add my custom menu to the menu bar with: printMenu = menuBar()-addMenu(tr("&Print")); but my menu will be in the last position of the menu bar.   I have a feature matrix implemented with Silverlight's Grid where users need to select a product. How can I indicate selection with a rectangle around the whole selected column? It is easy to put a CheckBox at the bottom of each product's column, but that is too dull. I would have preffered to use SL Toolkit's DataGrid (with built-in row selection), but it cannot be orientated vertically for a feature matrix... Thanks, Carl
