  • Silverlight unit testing (using NUnit)

    I'm using NUnit for testing back-end. Unit tests are being executed while building (I'm using TeamCity for continuous building). Now I hove to test front-end (Silverlight 4.0). Because the tests are being executed while building, I have to simulate browser (TypeMock - is not free, isn't it?) could I use NUnit.Mocks somehow?. How to use NUnit for Silverlight testing? I've found WHITE framework could it help? Any other advises about software/frameworks to use for Silverlight unit testing?

    Hello, I need to choose the right CI build tool which will: 1. Support groups of build configurations so we can use the standardized build process for all our projects 2. Support dashboard with "pretty" (for executive/director "eye" :-) reports. 3. Support Java, Maven, Ant, and be somewhat customizable for build process itself (though this is optional, as I can "fix" it with scripts) I'd prefer free and open source tool, but paid version is fine too. Characteristics: ClearCase revision control Approx 80% C++; 15% Java; 5% script or low-level Compiles for Green Hills Integrity OS, but also some windows and JVM chunks Mostly an embedded system; also includes some UI pieces and some development support (simulation tools, config tools, etc...) Each notional "version" of the deliverable includes deployment images for a number of boards, UI machines, etc... (~10 separate images; 5 distinct operating systems) Need to maintain/track many simultaneous versions which, notably, are built for a variety of different board support packages Build cycle time is a major issue on the project, need support for whatever features help address this (mostly need to manage a large farm of build machines, I guess..)   • Can you do this with Hudson?

    I want to create a hudson job, that takes an id as a parameter. And use that id to calculate the svn-repo path. Where I work you have a svn path for every issue that you resolve. And then all the issues are joined into a single svn-path. What I want to do is to run static code analysis on the partial issues. So I think maybe having an Ant build.xml that I use for every issue, then, parametrize the job with the issue id. I have tried to achieve that but the svn path doesn't replace the parameter. I have tried with #issueId, %issueId%, ${issueId} and ${env.issueId} without success.   • Looking for ideas on automatically arranging a set of objects (furniture) in a virtual room in AS3

    First of all, I don't want to visually arrange 3D models dragging them with the mouse, all I want is: Given a room of certain dimensions (L,W,H) and given a set of elements like beds, chairs, etc (with L,W,H dimensions, of course) I want to automatically arrange those elements to take advantage of the space as much as I can. So I want to be able to put as much furniture as I can in a given room. At the end I need to represent the arranged items visually, inside the room. My first thought was to use an array of items and sorting it with array.sortOn(["l","w","h"] Array.NUMERIC) and then define a gap between the objects and make the maths to put the objects one next to another, etc. but that isn't a good approach because some items may be placed on top of another ones (boxes of the same size, boxes on top of tables, etc). I really don't have experience on 3D programming, that's why I'm asking for help. Thanks in advance.

This data has a field called parentid, and I would like to map the data into a new arraycollection with hierarchical information to then feed to an advanced data grid. I think I'm basically trying to take the parent object, add a new property/field/variable of type ArrayCollection called children and then remove the child object from the original list and clone it into the children array?   • Keeping the number of objects and event-listeners on stage as low as possible

    Hello. I am creating a site with lots of big scrollable text-boxes in it. Each text-box object contained some text, and two buttons to scroll up/down with. The scroll buttons each had an event listener so the text moved when you clicked them. These text-boxes were stacked on-top of each other with all except one having an alpha of 0. If I wanted to change which text-box is active I move it to the front and call a small TweenLite animation. To the left (outside of the text-box objects) I have an object similar to a menu. It also has about 12 or so event-listeners (one for every button). This turns out cause A LOT of lag an it's very troublesome for my laptop to run it. What I need help with doing is to reduce the number of event-listeners on the stage and also the amount of text-boxes. What I was thinking was to add the text-boxes using AS so I only have 1 on the stage at a time but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I also thought it might be better to just use 1 big event-listeners and from mouseX and mouseY decide which button the user is trying to push. Are there any better alternatives to this? And if so, please elaborate on how to do it.
