• Why won't my control accept keyboard input?

  I've built a custom control that I'm trying to send input to. It will accept mouse input and report MouseDown, MouseMove and MouseUp correctly, but for whatever reason, it won't accept keyboard input. When I click on it, it doesn't receive focus, and any keys I press get interpreted by whatever control had the focus already. This is probably something really simple. The first place I thought to look was in the ControlStyle property, but the only thing I can see in the helpfile about keyboard input is csNoStdEvents, which disables it, and my control doesn't have that. So what do I need to do to make it so my control can receive input focus?

  Description: The project deals with interaction with the remote desktop connecting through web browser (Internet Explorer). What we did: We have created an activex which installs through the web browser into client machine which lets the user to connect to different servers through web browser. What is in Activex In Activex we used an MSTSC.lib file and by passing the relevant parameters to it. It connects to the remote Desktop. What are the Problems facing now? We are able to connect to remote desktop but randomly keyboard does not work in remote machine. Where as mouse works perfectly.

• Operating System Widget Side Project

  I want to start on a side project and here's my idea: Whenever the user's mouse is pressed down, I want a small ring around the cursor to show up. I'm mainly doing this to learn more about programming and get myself to think outside of work related materials. My questions are: 1) is there a good source I can reference to start a project that deals with something like this? 2) Is visual studio a sufficient software to create such an application?   Let's say I've got a window for which I want to simulate a mouse click at a specific x, y coordinate. I already have the hwnd but I'm not sure how to construct the lParam. I've used SendMessage in the past to click on buttons, etc., but I knew their hwnds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also can't help but wonder if I'm going about this the right way. My end goal is clicking on a certain user on skype main window (for example). I used EnumChildWindows to find all the main window's children, but couldn't find the right one. So figured I would try to 'click' on it using coordinates.

• Can't get flat QToolButton with border on hover stylesheet

  Hi, all! I need to implement textbox with inplace button (for search or filter purposes). So, I need to get Qtoolbutton, that is flat and rendered as icon, and obtain the border when hovered by mouse or pressed. And maybe I'd add some almost transparent background on hover too. I tried to set the following stylesheet: 'border: none; hover {border: 1px} pressed {border: 1px}' , but it seems that only border set. I tried to set autoRaise() to True and False, I mean, maybe some intersection occured, but haven't succeed.

• How do I find the current virtual terminal

  I am working around a problem in Ubuntu 10.04 where after resume, the mouse cursor disappears. This can be "fixed" by running chvt 1; chvt 7 in a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d, such that those commands run on thaw and resume. However, the X console is not always vt #7, so chvt 7 is wrong in those cases. What I would like to do is find out the current vt in the fix-up script and make sure I change back to that vt. How can I find the current vt? (tty(1) just reports "not a tty")

  Dear All! I have a datagrid which contains bid and ask - prices for currency-symbols. The data is updated every seconds. I update the data by creating a new collection of my viewmodel-entities and bind this collection to the datagrid every second. The problem is: Because my datagrid contains a template-column with a button "buy", this button is also recreated every second! This means, that when the user hovers the button, the hover-styles blinks, as the button is recreated every second. Additionally sometimes the click-event is not fired correctly, if the button is recreated while the user has his mouse-left-button pressed. Any suggestions, how to solve real-time-update a datagrid with button-columns?

• Strange problem with ie6 messing up layout, and fixing byitself some time after loading

  We have a big ie6 layout problem with a newly launched website: in the header in our homepage, we have a coda-slider, and apparently its messing upt the wole layout of the front page. I have been looking at float and height problems but cannot seem to solve it. Also, the most strange part is that if you wait a while after loading, the layout "fixes itself". Help! The url is the following (without the spaces, sorry) w w w . r e - c r e a r t . c o m Edit: update, it sounds crazy, but if you press control and use the mouse wheel (as if you were zooming in /out in a modern browser, although ie6 doesnt do that) the layout fixes as well.   I want to write games that run on all the major platforms. I also want people to be able to play them by downloading a file and double clicking it. That means a single .exe/.app file. I'm happy to use OpenGL directly for graphics. What I don't know how to do is show a window, handle mouse/keyboard input and play sounds in a cross-platform manner. I don't really mind what the underlying language is, as long as it isn't C++ or Java. C#, Ruby or Python would be preferable, in that order :) Please, SO, save me from having to write Flash games!

• Flash Sprite looses focus on MOUSE_DOWN event

  My Sprite class keeps losing focus when I click with the mouse - specifically after the MOUSE_DOWN event (before the click is complete). I have set mouseEnabled to false on the children, no change. I added a listener for FOCUS_OUT and noticed that the FocusEvent.relatedObject property is NULL, which is confusing me - doesn't that mean there is no new focus target, the focus is just getting lost?   Hey Guys, I have made one project in java. Now in this particular module, i am showing the user , so i am showing them a stock inventory. Now for doing this. As you will see in the screen shot [ i have put screenshot so you can understand well ]. To show the images , i have made one table and i have put labels in that and then i am setting the icon at the label. Now as soon as user click on the any image, then that image i put on big label. But this works perfect on mouse click but client want that , if user navigate the by keyboard arrow keys then in same should be happen. Means : User navigate by key board then it should reflect on that table [user should know that which is currently seleted ] and then as soon as the user navigate by key board arrow events and then click enter then that image should reflect on big label. • How to disable Eclipse's behavior of maximizing editor when double clicking a tab?

  I recently updated my Eclipse (now running 20100218-1602), and I've found whenever I click around quickly between tabs on the tab bar, it will sometimes maximize the editor and hide the PHP Explorer to the left. After researching a little, this appears to be a feature of double clicking a tab. So I guess it's my fault, I'm sure I'm clicking around too fast and mistakenly double clicking a tab, but it happens often enough on what I'd consider a normal editing session that I've come to absolutely loathe it, and even after the usual googling due diligence cannot figure out how to turn it off. From this post (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/594659/eclipses-tab-double-click-on-visual-studio) someone mentions the Window.AutoHideAll shortcut, however that seems to only be for assigning keyboard shortcuts--this is a mouse click thing. But maybe it's a clue. I can't find anything relevant under Eclipse - Preferences - PHP. I don't think it's specific to PHP because if I switch to the Java perspective, double clicking a tab hides the Package Explorer. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

• Lining up the text in a tool tip, with the text in a combobox

  I see a lot of programs where if the text doesn't fit inside the bounds of the control, you can put your mouse over the control and the tooltip text will show you the full unclipped text, and also the tooltip text lines up completly with the text in the control. I'm trying to do that with a combobox in VB 2005 (.net version 2.0). In the tooltip draw event I've tried setting the tooltip location to the location of the AssociatedControl.DisplayRectangle, and the AssociatedControl.ClientRectangle. Each of these seem to put the tooltip text in the top left corner of the combobox, just slightly offset from the text in the combobox. Is there some type of padding I need to account for? or what's going on here?

• Stop jQuery animations stacking

  I have an Options box that hovers in the top right of the webpage. It's opacity is set to 10% so as not to be obstructive to users. When they hover over (mouseenter) it I use jQuery to fade it in and slidedown the content (and the reverse on mouseout). If they do this repeatedly though the animation stacks up and you can sometimes be left in a situation where your mouse is stood still but the box is yo-yoing around. How can I get around this situation? • Question about Modal Dialog in Gtk application

  Hi, In Gtk application, there is 1 main loop which listens for events (e.g. mouse click, keyboard, etc). And when a modal dialog popup, the main loop is blocked until user clicks 'OK' in the dialog, right? (i.e. nothing will happen when user clicks on the main window). Is that correct? My question is how can firefox did its modal dialog so that it can: 1. when 1 have 2 Firefox windows 2. one of them has a modal dialog 3. other one is still interactive If both window shares the same gtk main loop, how is that possible? In c# WinForm I want to do drag and drop but I dont want the image of DragDropEffects Move, Copy or whatever. I want to display an image with half opaque. • Looking for ideas on automatically arranging a set of objects (furniture) in a virtual room in AS3

  First of all, I don't want to visually arrange 3D models dragging them with the mouse, all I want is: Given a room of certain dimensions (L,W,H) and given a set of elements like beds, chairs, etc (with L,W,H dimensions, of course) I want to automatically arrange those elements to take advantage of the space as much as I can. So I want to be able to put as much furniture as I can in a given room. At the end I need to represent the arranged items visually, inside the room. My first thought was to use an array of items and sorting it with array.sortOn(["l","w","h"] Array.NUMERIC) and then define a gap between the objects and make the maths to put the objects one next to another, etc. but that isn't a good approach because some items may be placed on top of another ones (boxes of the same size, boxes on top of tables, etc). I really don't have experience on 3D programming, that's why I'm asking for help. Thanks in advance.

• Open Folder within ClearCase Remote Client using Windows Explorer

  Is there a way to open the folder location of a file from within CCRC? While I know I can open/copy from directly within CCRC, it is often useful to work directly with the file from within Windows Explorer. I am looking for something like "open file location" or "open in windows explorer". The folder within CCRC does not appear to allow opening it directly as the double-mouse-click action just expands the tree listing. The path is listed/copyable within the "ClearCase Details" tab, but I am trying to take my laziness to a whole new level by being able to open the folder with a single click.
