    I am trying to send a mail from my web2py app hosted on GoogleAppEngine. But it is not working. I used the mail function that was given with the web2py. Does anybody how to do this? I read in the GAE Documentation that python mail library would not work with GAE and GAE mail library has to be used. Does it also applies to web2py mail? Thanks

  • Worker process reached its allowed processing time

    We are experiencing this issue approximately once a month. It is very hard to pinpoint the cause so any help would be appreciated. This causes the App pool to stop and brings the site down. We have gone through all log files and have concluded nothing. We are using the 2.0.3 version on IIS 6.

    The reason I asked this question is that I wanted to create a helper class for Remoting instantiation, and wanted to pass the appropriate app.exe.config (or web.config) file path to the RemotingConfiguration.Configure method, depending on the caller. Is there a way I could get the name of the config file for both Win and Web apps without checking if the application is Web or WinForms?

    I've been looking at implementing the new VerificationController to verify in-App-Purchases: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#releasenotes/StoreKit/IAP_ReceiptValidation/_index.html And I wonder if there is some example anywhere en how to validate a transaction, since it seems that the - (BOOL)verifyPurchase:(SKPaymentTransaction *)transaction; is not enough and it has to be implemented internally to verify the purchase when the data form the server is received. Another question is if anyone has a clue on what the KNOWN_TRANSACTIONS_KEY is and how to fill it, is it just the product id of the purchase?

    Hi all, I'm using java appengine and the task queue API to run async tasks. I would like to add a task to the task queue but pass a a java object as a parameter. I notic the task options api can add a parameter as a byte[] but I'm unsure how to use it. 1) How would I serialize my object to a byte[]? and 2) How would the task read the byte[] and reconstruct the original object?     If I create a website that uses an mdf in App_Data with the connection string: Server=.\SQLExpress;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|mydbfile.mdf;Database=dbname; Trusted_Connection=Yes; what do I need to do to run the site in a shared hosting environment? Do I need to copy the contents of my mdf to the main SQL Server engine of my host? Is there a way to use the non-SQLExpress engine of my host and still keep my mdf in my App_Data?

    Hi there, I'm using this code to implement the like button <fb:like layout="button_count" show_faces="false" width="450"></fb:like> But when I try to click it the counter is increased for about 1 second and then it goes back to zero again. I can't see on my facebook profile that i've liked something either. Someone have a solution for this? I'm using the newest JavaScript SDk in an Google App engine/ Django environment.

  • Troubleshooting Facebook's graph.put_object that returns error 400

    I am using Facebook Python's SDK along with Google App Engine, and making a call to do a checkin: graph.put_object("me", "checkins", message="Hello, world", place="165039136840558", coordinates='{"latitude":"38.2454064", "longitude":"-122.0434404"}') However, this throws an error 400 Bad Request and I don't seem to be able to try catch it so I can have the important information. On a bad request, Facebook should return, an object like below which can help troubleshoot and address the issue, but I am not sure how I can retrieve this object: { "error": { "type" : "OAuthException", "message" : "An active access token must be used to query information about the current user." } }

    Hello, I have a db.BlobProperty property (called "Icon") in my entity which contains an image binary. I want to run a GQL query to retrieve all entities with an image (i.e. their "Icon" property is not NULL). Trying to use the following query: "SELECT * FROM Names WHERE Icon!=NULL" did not work... Trying to use .filter("Icon!=",None) did not work as well... Any ideas? Thanks! Joel

    Hi, I currently have a Grails application I'm evaluating to port to Google App Engine and I'd like to know experiences regarding: Acegi security: the application relies on this library to enforce the security. Use of JPA or JDO instead of the hibernate plugin (I'll have to migrate the Domain classes); which one is better ?     Generally I use lxml for my HTML parsing needs, but that isn't available on Google App Engine. The obvious alternative is BeautifulSoup, but I find it chokes too easily on malformed HTML. Currently I am testing libxml2dom and have been getting better results. Which pure Python HTML parser have you found performs best? My priority is the ability to handle bad HTML over speed.

The problem I am running into is that the application is listening on port 8080 but I cannot configure webtest to hit that port. For example, I want to use app.get('/getreport') to hit http://localhost:8080/getreport. Obviously, it hits just thits http:// localhost/getreport. Is there a way to set up webtest to hit a particular port?
