  • How do I make menus like these?

    So I'm looking at slickdeals.net and amazon.com, and I found something very intriguing. It's basic for most of you guys out there, but it's new to me. For slickdeals.net, when you click login, a login box pops up like so. Also for Amazon.com, when you hover over the left navigational menus, a new menu pops up! I think it's JavaScript, but how does this work? How can I do something like that?

    Hello, I am getting an issue wherein I am using FCKEditor, and once I type in something, in the source of FCKEditor, something like below is getting iserted automatically. <input type="hidden" id="gwProxy" /><!--Session data--><input type="hidden" id="jsProxy" /> <div id="refHTML">&nbsp;</div> Some hidden tag is getting inserted, which isnot getting diplayed here in my question.   • crt0.o and crt1.o -- What's the difference?

    Hello, recently I've been trying to debug some low level work and I could not find the crt0.S for the compiler(avr-gcc) but I did find a crt1.S (and the same with the corresponding .o files) What is the difference between these two files? Is crt1 something completely different or what? They both seem to have to do with something for bootstrapping(setting up stack frame and such), but why the distinction?

  • call_user_function_array() and __construct

    I'm working on a simple framework, and I'm having a slight problem. I'd like to use call_user_function_array() to pass parameters to a function. That's fine, except the function I want to pass it to is __construct. I can't create an instance of an object with cufa(), and by instantiating an object, and then using cufa to call that instance's __construct(), I run into problems with a broken class because I'm calling the constructor twice (and one time it's called wrong.)

  • Are there any CMS editors out there which users can populate locked down HTML templates with content

    Hi there, We work in email marketing, creating HTML/TEXT emails for clients. In essence we design HTML email templates for our clients. Clients then post us content (via a form) to populate these templates before we send them out. Right now we do this manually, basically cutting and pasting the content from their submitted form into the relevant parts of the template, which is time consuming and particularly mind-numbing. What we're looking for (and have so far been unable to find) is a simple system which will allow us to capture this client content in a sort of WYSIWYG HTML format. Basically they populate a locked down version of the template, entering text where necessary, before submitting to us. This is our most basic requirement, and a friend of mine kindly demo'd a proof of concept here: http://advantageone.co.uk/mbe/ Note: If you click on a text area in the body of the template, an editor pop ups. Now what we are looking for a CMS editor out there which can be easily adapted to do the above and the following for our end clients? User login View previously submitted campaigns that they have created and edit these Create new - selecting from template (assigned to their user/client id), perhaps being able to add new rows to the template. And have these HTML templates locked down so they can only edit what they're allowed too (like in the demo above), and perhaps make some areas required. Perhaps have a simple workflow or approval built in Allow us to lock submitted campaigns after a point so they can't be further edited, and as administrators view all campaigns from all users Be so incredibly simple, with any extraneous functionality switched off Essentially an extremley simple stripped down CMS, but we use the outputted HTML for sending out as an email, rather than publishing onto the web. Now to the actual dilemma: we're looking for something really simple, and the above sounds like a CMS. But we haven't been able to find anything that already does, or can be easily adapted to do this. Everything is either too complex, or simple and inflexible. We're sure there must be something off the shelf available, rather than us coding something ourselves. But we've kind of got stuck. Does anyone know of a system, or could recommend a system that can do the above out of the box, or with a few days tweaking?     So, I've been doing android application tutorials and everytime I create a package, for example the helloAndroid tutorial is com.example.android. When it saves this to src it creates a folder for com, another for example and one last one for android. So it gives me the error "class com.example.android does not exist" because its broken into different folders. If anyone can help me out please email me at: [email protected] Thank you very much.

How can I do this as a let in my rspec test?

    I've looked around for an answer to this, no luck. what i want to do is replace: http://localhost/mysite/admin/something with: http://localhost/mysite/admin/?p=something Here's the best formula I came up with since yesterday: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /mysite/ RewriteRule ^(superv/)([^\?/]+)$ $1\?p=$2 [NC] Yet it's not working. Note: It think the "RewriteBase" thingy has nothing to do with the problem because this line is working like a charm: RewriteRule ^(javascripts/main\.js)$ $1\.php [NC] Any ideas? thanks in advance.

I need to reference 'txtUrl' which has an id something like #35_textInput.   • How dangerous is e.preventDefault();, and can it be replaced by keydown/mousedown tracking?

    I'm working on a tracking script for a fairly sophisticated CRM for tracking form actions in Google Analytics. I'm trying to balance the desire to track form actions accurately with the need to never prevent a form from not working. Now, I know that doing something like this doesn't work. $('form').submit(function(){ _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')) }); The DOM unloads before this has a chance to process. So, a lot of sample code recommends something like this: $('form').submit(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); var form = this; _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')); //...do some other tracking stuff... setTimeout(function(){ form.submit(); }, 400); }); This is reliable in most cases, but it makes me nervous. What if something happens between e.preventDefault();and when I get around to triggering the DOM based submit? I've totally broken the form. I've been poking around some other analytics implementations, and I've noticed something like this: $('form').mousedown(function(){ _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')); }); $('form').keydown(function(e){ if(e.which===13) //if the keydown is the enter key _gaq.push('_trackEvent', 'Form', 'Submit', $(this).attr('action')); }); Basically, instead of interrupting the form submit, preempting it by assuming that if someone is mousing down or keying down on Enter, than that form is submitted. Obviously, this will result in a certain amount of false positives, but it completely eliminates use of e.preventDefault();, which in my mind eliminates the risk that I might ever prevent a form from successfully submitting. So, my question: Is it possible to take the standard form tracking snippet and prevent it from ever fully preventing the form from submitting? Is the mousedown/keydown alternative viable? Are there any submission cases it may miss? Specifically, are there other ways to end up submitting besides the mouse and the keyboard enter? And will the browser always have time to process javascript before beginning to unload the page?
