• Qt display image in a new window

  Hi, I am naive to Qt and GUI programming. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1357960/qt-jpg-image-display/2605463#2605463 The procedure given for displaying an image is working fine and thank you for providing that. But I want to display an image when I click on radiobutton. I created a slot, and I connected the button click event to the slot (dispImage is my slot). My slot consists only the code which is working to display an image (First answer in this link). I am able to compile it and run it. But the o/p is not as we desire. On button click, image windoe flashes for a sec and disappears. One more point to share is, I tried the same with windowsflags example present in qt examples. In this example I want to display the image on the preview window created by us. Even this is also not worked for me. Please provide me the solution. Thanks in advance.

• How not to lose binding source updates?

  Suppose I have a modal dialog with a textbox and OK/Cancel buttons. And it is built on MVVM - i.e. it has a ViewModel object with a string property that the textbox is bound to. Say, I enter some text in the textbox and then grab my mouse and click "OK". Everything works fine: at the moment of click, the textbox loses focus, which causes the binding engine to update the ViewModel's property. I get my data, everybody's happy. Now suppose I don't use my mouse. Instead, I just hit Enter on the keyboard. This also causes the "OK" button to "click", since it is marked as IsDefault="True". But guess what? The textbox doesn not lose focus in this case, and therefore, the binding engine remains innocently ignorant, and I don't get my data. Dang! Another variation of the same scenario: suppose I have a data entry form right in the main window, enter some data into it, and then hit Ctrl+S for "Save". Guess what? My latest entry doesn't get saved! This may be somewhat remedied by using UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, but that is not always possible. One obvious case would be the use of StringFormat with binding - the text keeps jumping back into "formatted" state as I'm trying to enter it. And another case, which I have encountered myself, is when I have some time-consuming processing in the viewmodel's property setter, and I only want to perform it when the user is "done" entering text. This seems like an eternal problem: I remember trying to solve it systematically from ages ago, ever since I've started working with interactive interfaces, but I've never quite succeeded. In the past, I always ended up using some sort of hacks - like, say, adding an "EnsureDataSaved" method to every "presenter" (as in "MVP") and calling it at "critical" points, or something like that... But with all the cool technologies, as well as empty hype, of WPF, I expected they'd come up with some good solution.

• PHP, MySQL: Security concern; Page loads in a weird way

  Hi all, I am testing the security of my website. I am using the following URL to load a PHP page in my website, on localhost: http://localhost/domain/user/index.php/apple.php When I do this, the page is not loading normally; Instead the images, icons used in the page simply vanish/disappear from the page. Only text appears. And also on any link I click on this page, it brings me to this same page again without navigating to the required page. So if I have hyperlinks to other pages, such as "SEARCH", which points to search.php, instead of navigating to the search.php page, it refreshes the index.php page and just appends the page name of the destination page to the end of the URL. For example, say I used the link above. It then loads the index.php page minus the images at it's will. When I click on the "Search" link to navigate to the search page, I see the following in the URL: http://localhost/domain/user/index.php/search.php I have a redirection configured to a 404 error page in my .htaccess file, but the page does not redirect to the 404 error page. Notice the search.php towards the end of the URL above. Any other link that I click, reloads the index.php page and just appends the destination page name to the end of the URL like I have shown above. I was expecting to see a 404 Error but that does not happen. The URL should not even be able to load the page because I do NOT have a "index.php" folder in my website. What can I do to solve this? • Updating a Database from DataBound Controls

  Hi. I'm currently creating a WinForm in VB.NET bound to an access database. Basically what i have are two forms: one is a search form used to search the database, and the other is a details form. You run a search on the searchForm and it returns a list of Primary Keys and a few other identifying values. You then double click on the entry you want to view, and it loads the details form. The Details form has a collection of databound controls to display the data: mostly text boxes and checkboxs. The way i've set it up is i used the UI to build the form and then set the DataBindings Property of each control to "TblPropertiesBindingSource - " where value name is one of the values in the table (such as PropertyID or HasWoodFloor). Then, when you double click an entry in the searchform, I handle the event by parsing the Primary Key (PropertyID) out of the selected row and then storing this to the details form: Note: Detail is the details form that is opened to display the info Private Sub propView_CellDoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles propView.CellDoubleClick Dim detail As frmPropertiesDetail = New frmPropertiesDetail detail.id = propView.Rows(e.RowIndex).Cells(0).Value detail.Show() End Sub Then, upon loading the details form, it set's the filter on the BindSource as such: TblPropertiesBindingSource.Filter() = "PropertyID=" & id This works great so far. All the controls on the details form will display the correct info. The problem is updating changes. Scenario: If i have the user load the details for say, property 10001, it will show a description in a textBox named descriptionBox which is identical to the value of the description value of for that entry in the database. I want the user to then be able to change the text of the text box (which they can currently do) and click the save button (saveBut) and have the form update all the values in the controls to the database. Theorectically, it should do this as the controls are DataBound, thus i can avoid writing code that tells each entry in the database row to take the value of the aligned control. I've tried calleding PropertiesTableAdapter.Update(PropertiesBindingSource.DataSource), but that doesnt seem to do it.

  Hello friends, i made a windows service & add project installer.in which only contain this code. System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"C:\Windows\system32\notepad.exe"); inside the timer tick event & interval is 60 sec.i just wanted to try to run Windows service. 1st-serviceProcessInstaller1 i have been changed its account setting as local system. 2nd-serviceInstaller1 in this case i have been changed its start up type as Automatic. then i create a setup add another project then right click add project output then add primary output then press ok. then go to Right click on project-view-custom Action-right click on Install-Add custom Action-select Application folder & add primary output.the same thing done for all the remaining options like commit,rollback,uninstall. after that i build the setup it build succesfully then i install the setup it installed properly into program file n create one .exe file n one Instalfile. but problem is that when i search the service into "services.msc" the service is not there. means service is not showing there.i tried but not getting the ans.plz help me to solve this problem.

• kQuery : Trying to find a specific instance of a class by number

  I guess I have just hit a mental block with this one; maybe some fresh eyes will help. Basically I have a few instance of the class "menu-item" which when clicked call the click function via jQuery and bring up a video. Instead of giving each on an id as well as a class I am trying to find which instance of the class was clicked (1, 2, 3, etc). I'm using client validation like this: "" type="text/javascript"/" " type="text/javascript"/ " type="text/javascript"/ . . . <% Html.EnableClientValidation(); % . . . . . . and validation rule used for that text box is [StringLength(100, ErrorMessage="This field should be no longer than 100")] My wish is that validation rules will be applied only when I click on Next button. And when I click on Back button, no validation error message will be displayed and form will be posted to server. Is it possible to do that? could you please tell me how? My problem now is that when I click Back, validation rules are applied and prevent me from posting back to server.

• Changing the href attribute on hover with jQuery

  Ok, I have an html page that is loaded into another html page via PHP (ok so its a PHP page, whatever). The page that is loaded is a list of hyperlinks. I need to change the href attribute to make the hyperlinks relative to the location of the stored images they refer too. When i load the page containing the hyperlinks the links are relative to the web host server, not the server that the page is actually hosted from. Somthing like this: <div #screenshots) <p><a href="image1.htm">Image1</a></p> <p><a href="image2.htm">Image2</a></p> <p><a href="image3.htm">Image3</a></p> <p><a href="image4.htm">Image4</a></p> <p><a href="image5.htm">Image5</a></p> </div> When I mouse over the links, the status bar shows the reference as "http://webHostServer.com/image1.htm". If I click it I get a 404 error.   I am trying to build a form where users can add a text field by clicking on a "add option" button. They can also remove added fields by a "remove option" link created on the fly by Jquery, along with the text field. But when clicking on the "delete_link" created by JQuery, the browser follows the link instead of launching a pop-up displaying "clicked". Any idea ? Thanks !

• Slow Response in checkbox using JQuery

  Hi to all. I'm trying to optimize a website. The flow is i tried to query a certain table and all of its data entry in a page(w/ toolbars), work fine. When i tried to edit the page the problem is when i click the checkbox button i have to wait 2-5sec just by clicking it. I limit the viewing of entry to 5 only but the response on checkbox doesn't change. • Pure CSS3 show/hide full height div with transition

  Dear Stackoverflow readers, I've been breaking my head over something I've seen at Tympanus, and I can't figure out how to properly do such a thing. In this link: http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/FullscreenBookBlock/ you can see that the menu is completely hidden, and only visible when you click on an icon. It has a lovely transition, and it basically roughly sums up what I'm trying to accomplish. The only difference with the above example is that I don't want to completely hide this full-height element, and I'd like to accomplish the above effect with a hover instead of having to click a button. So in an ideal world you'd see a vertical bar, and when you hover over that bar (or click on it with your finger if you're on a tablet), it "opens up" and shows you the full content inside the opened div. Now, I can make a decent bit in html5 and css3, but the above explained effect that I'm trying to accomplish has given me serious headaches, hehe. Does anyone happen to know a tutorial I might have missed that does this exact thing? p.s.: I have tried to take apart Tympanus' html/css, but with the page-fold effect that's also implemented in it I can't seem to figure it out, hence my hope for someone here to help me on my way :)

• Completed Event not triggering for web service on some systems

  Hi, This is rather weird issue that I am facing with by WCF/Silverlight application. I am using a WCF to get data from a database for my Silverlight application and the completed event is not triggering for method in WCF on some systems. I have checked the called method executes properly has returns the values. I have checked via Fiddler and it clearly shows that response has the returned values as well. However the completed event is not getting triggered. Moreover in few of the systems, everything is fine and I am able to process the returned value in the completed method. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried searching around the web but without any luck :( Following is the code..   I have a Windows Phone 7 ListBox that binds to a list of integers. I am using the default MVVM Light template, so there is a ViewModel class that contains data and a simple RelayCommand. Nothing happens when you click the button and no error messages are written to the Output window. <ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" HorizontalAlignment="Center" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ListBox.ItemsPanel> I have tried some other types of binding for the EventToCommand. For example, specifying my ViewModel as a static resource. It works, but is less ideal than the example above. Why does that ItemsPanel break the databinding?

• Simple jQuery syntax help, don't know where I've gone wrong

  I'm having trouble with a jQuery code at the moment, I know WHERE the problem lies, but I don't know what the problem is exactly. Probably very basic, but I'm new to this.   I am working on a menu navigation that has parent horizontal bar as static and a vertical accordion child menu that interacts with the parent. I have them working fine except one part where I want to toggle show() and hide() child menu when clicked on the same parent menu item. I've looked at toggle() jQuery API but couldn't get it working properly. • Been asked a dozen times, but no luck from what I've read. Prevent Anchor Jumping on page load

  I'm currently working with WP theme that can be found here: sanjay.dmediastudios.com I'm currently using 'smooth scroll' on my page, I'm attempting to have the page smoothly scroll to the requested section when coming from an external link (for instance coming from the blog page takes you to sanjay.dmediastudios.com/#portfolio) from there I want the page to start at the top and THEN scroll to the portfolio section. What's happening is it briefly displays the 'portfolio section' (anchor jump) and THEN resets to the top and scrolls down. It's driving me nuts :(. It is always routed to the controller although I do not supply a correct email. So every time I click the button I get the {{ThankYou}} variable displayed. Maybe I do not understand something.

• Why is my content being overwritten instead of replaced in jQuery/Ajax?

  I've got jquery being used in ajax to pass some contents into a database, my problem however has nothing to do with the db.. I have input fields in an id called #clientscontainer. When I click "save" in that container, it automatically refreshes the container correctly ... $('#clientscontainer').html(html); The problem is, a couple of those input fields (such as a description and title), have instances in another div that i want to refresh upon the save click. The other ID is: $('div#' + clientID') When I do $('div#' + clientID').html(html); it refreshes the content from clientscontainer in it instead of just the variables that I want to update. When I try to pass just the variable $(blurb).html(html); it updates the blurb but it ONLY displays that variable in the div# clientID div... whereas I just want to replace it. • How to get unique value in jquery?

  I am learning jquery. For example, I click the id=1, then I will display information on id1 in somewhere else. I tried this: $("a#get_this").click(function(){ var id = $('input[type=hidden]#id').val(); window.alert("You have chosen the id: " + id); }); It always return id: 1 to me.

• Timing issues with playback of the HTML5 Audio API

  I'm using the following code to try to play a sound clip with the HTML5 Audio API: HTMLAudioElement.prototype.playClip = function(startTime, stopTime) { this.stopTime = stopTime; this.currentTime = startTime; this.play(); $(this).bind('timeupdate', function(){ if (this.ended || this.currentTime >= stopTime) { this.pause(); $(this).unbind('timeupdate'); } }); } I utilize this new playClip method as follows. First I have a link with some data attributes: <a href=# data-stop=1.051 data-start=0.000>And then I was thinking,</a> And finally this bit of jQuery which runs on $(document).ready to hook up a click on the link with the playback: $('a').click(function(ev){ $('a').click(function(ev){ var start = $(this).data('start'), stop = $(this).data('stop'), audio = $('audio').get(0), $audio = $(audio); ev.preventDefault(); audio.playClip(start,stop); }) This approach seems to work, but there's a frustrating bug: sometimes, the playback of a given clip plays beyond the correct data-stop time. I suspect it could have something to do with the timing of the timeupdate event, but I'm no JS guru and I don't know how to begin debugging the problem. Here are a few clues I've gathered: The same behavior appears to come up in both FF and Chrome. The playback of a given clip actually seems to vary a bit -- if I play the same clip a couple times in a row, it may over-play a different amount of time on each playing. Is the problem here the inherent accuracy of the Audio API? My app needs milliseconds. Is there a problem with the way I'm using jQuery to bind and unbind the timeupdate event? I tried using the jQuery-less approach with addEventListener but I couldn't get it to work. Thanks in advance, I would really love to know what's going wrong.

• jQuery and MySQL

  I have taken a jQuery script which would remove divs on a click, but I want to implement deleting records of a MySQL database. "'"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); ?> The jQuery script: $(document).ready(function() { $('#load').hide(); }); $(function() { $(".delete").click(function() { $('#load').fadeIn(); var commentContainer = $(this).parent(); var id = $(this).attr("id"); var string = 'id='+ id ; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "delete.php", data: string, cache: false, success: function(){ commentContainer.slideUp('slow', function() {$("#photo-" + id).remove();}); $('#load').fadeOut(); } }); return false; }); }); The div goes away when I click on it, but then after I refresh the page, it appears again... How do I get it to delete it from the database? Thanks :) EDIT: Woopsie... forgot to add the db.php to it, so it works now .<
