• Search for Variable Usage In SSIS tasks

  Hi all: As what seems to be some sort of penance for sins in a prior life, I have been tasked with maintaining some SSIS packages. (NO! NO BADMOUTHING SSIS!! BAD PROGRAMMMER! NO DOUGHNUT!). Anyhoo, I many of the packages have variables, defined in an outer container, which are used in multiple inner containers, in script tasks. What I want to do, is find out all the places in a package a variable being used; in other words, search for instances of variable usage in all tasks of a package. This would be a huge help, but I cannot for the life of me find out how this can be done in BIDS. (this is SSIS/BIDS 2008) Thanks for any help, YS

• Joomla Development - Allow Direct File Access AND use Joomla-intern Framework

  Hi As usual you write in Joomla Development defined('_JEXEC') or die('Restricted access'); I make a plugin which needs access from Paypal/IPN, so i exclude that in that specific file. BUT I also need to use the Joomla-intern Variables to access the Database, so i tried this: require("../filewithaccesstoframework.php"); OR even $baseurl = $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']; $baseurl ="http://".$baseurl."/configuration.php"; require($baseurl); By using the first code it displays "Restircted Access" since it seems to take this from the included file which i can't skip to put-in-there. The second code does not seem to recognize the Variables used in configuration.php like $host, $db, $password. the file configuration.php is chmod 444 Why this happens and is there a workarround to allow direct access to a file AND using the Joomla intern Framework (Variables, Functions)?

  Hi, I am trying to write a base crud controller class that does the following: class BaseCrudController: model = "" field_validation = {} template_dir = "" @expose(self.template_dir) def new(self, *args, **kwargs) .... @validate(self.field_validation, error_handler=new) @expose() def post(self, *args, **kwargs): ... My intent is to have my controllers extend this base class, set the model, field_validation, and template locations, and am ready to go. Unfortunately, decorators (to my understanding), are interpreted when the function is defined. Hence it won't have access to instance's value. Is there a way to pass in dynamic data or values from the sub class? If not, I guess I could use override_template as a workaround to expose and set the template within the controller action. How would I go about validating the form within the controller action? Thanks, Steve

• MinGW and "delcaration does not declare anything"

  I'm working on converting a Linux project of mine to compile on Windows using MinGW. It compiles and runs just fine on Linux, but when I attempt to compile it with MinGW it bombs out with the following error message: camera.h:11: error: declaration does not declare anything camera.h:12: error: declaration does not declare anything I'm kind of baffled why this is happening, because I'm using the same version of g++ (4.4) on both Linux and Windows (via MinGW). The contents of camera.h is absurdly simple. Here's the code. It's choking on lines 11 and 12 where float near; and float far; are defined. #include "Vector.h" #ifndef _CAMERA_H_ #define _CAMERA_H_ class Camera{ public: Vector eye; Vector lookAt; float fov; float near; float far; }; #endif Thanks for your help.

  Hello, I have a set of Books objects, classs Book is defined as following : Class Book{ String title; ArrayList<tags> taglist; } Where title is the title of the book, example : Javascript for dummies. and taglist is a list of tags for our example : Javascript, jquery, "web dev", .. As I said a have a set of books talking about different things : IT, BIOLOGY, HISTORY, ... Each book has a title and a set of tags describing it.. • Why won't this SQL CAST work?

  I have a nvarchar(50) column in a SQL Server 2000 table defined as follows: TaskID nvarchar(50) NULL I need to fill this column with some random SQL Unique Identifiers (I am unable to change the column type to uniqueidentifier). I tried this: UPDATE TaskData SET TaskID = CAST(NEWID() AS nvarchar) but I got the following error: Msg 8115, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type nvarchar. I also tried: UPDATE TaskData SET TaskID = CAST(NEWID() AS nvarchar(50)) but then got this error: Msg 8152, Level 16, State 6, Line 1 String or binary data would be truncated. I don't understand why this doesn't work but this does: DECLARE @TaskID nvarchar(50) SET @TaskID = CAST(NEW() AS nvarchar(50)) I also tried CONVERT(nvarchar, NEWID()) and CONVERT(nvarchar(50), NEWID()) but got the same errors.

• CSS Container not growing with grid?

  Hi, I have a container background defined in CSS like this; .container { background:#fff; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; position: relative; width:970px; border:1px solid #000; padding:5px 10px; } The problem is I have a jqGrid put in the bottom of the container (near the bottom edge) and when its initially drawn it does fit inside the container panel and looks correct. Something like this (please pardon my non-l33t graphic skillz): But then when I populate the grid with rows it outgrows the container and it looks really tacky, something like this (I circled the original container background edges): I am sure its something I am doing wrong with the CSS. Any advice would be appreciated. EDIT: The problem isn't the width its the height of the container being overlapped by the new height of the now populated grid

• Display Computer Info on C# Web Application

  I want to build a page for end users to visit (in our MPLS Network) and it show the following information in regards to them: Computer Name OS Disk Space Memory IP Address Active Directory User Name Password Expiration Time (As defined by Global Policy) Maybe a few other things such as Trend Micro Office current version vs. their version, # of MS Updates needed (we utilize WSUS), and a few other things in the future. My question is how would I pull this information from the user when they visit the page? What is the proper function for this? Anyone have examples they wish to share for me to learn by if possible? • ASP.net error message when using REST starter kit

  Hi all, I've written some code using the REST starter kit and it works fine on my development machine. However, when I upload it to our server the page gives me the following error message... CS1684: Warning as Error: Reference to type 'System.Runtime.Serialization.Json.DataContractJsonSerializer' claims it is defined in 'c:\WINNT\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.ServiceModel.Web\3.5.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.ServiceModel.Web.dll', but it could not be found I've removed code line by line and it appears that the following line of code is triggering the error... HttpContent newOrganizationContent = HttpContentExtensions.CreateXmlSerializable(newOrganizationXml); Really haven't got a clue how to fix it. I assumed it might be because it needs a newer version of the framework to run, but looking in IIS it says it's running version 2.0.50727 which I think is the lates version because it says that even when we're using framework 3.5 Very confused, any ideas? • Dynamically showing fields to a Dev Express Grid view on windows form

  In one of windows application in C# , I am using Dev Express Grid view control to bind some data and display it to user. I have custom business objects with properties defined for this purpose.Then I simple set the DataSource of the grid to the list of my custom business objects. A while ago , there came a requirement which means that the columns to be displayed on to the grid will be dynamic. This means I cannot know at design time which fields I will need to display. I was thinking of abandoning setting the DataSource and populating the grid manually by code. But I think this will cause many of the grid's features not to work properly, for example , grouping the data by drag n drop of fields to the header area etc. Is there any way to tell a grid at runtime to skip certain fields from a list of BO's when databinding to the grid ?

• Query to return internal details about stored function in MS-SQL database

  I have been given access to a ms-sql database that is currently used by 3rd party app. As such, I don't have any documentation on how that application stores the data or how it retrieves it. I can figure a few things out based on the names of various tables and the parameters that the user-defined functions takes and returns, but I'm still getting errors at every other turn. I was thinking that it would be really helpful if I could see what the stored functions were doing with the parameters given to return the output. Right now all I've been able to figure out is how to query for the input parameters and the output columns. Is there any built-in information_schema table that will expose what the function is doing between input and output?

• Routing zend request through a default controller when controller not found.

  Below is a function defined in my Bootstrap class. I must be missing something fundamental in the way Zend does routing and dispatching. What I am trying to accomplish is simple: For any request /foo/bar/* that is not dispatchable for any reason try /index/foo/bar/. The problem I'm having is when the FooController exists I get Action "foo" does not exist.   I wonder how the following closure test can be written in other languages, such as C and Java. Can the same result be expected also in Perl, Python, and PHP? Ideally, we don't need to make a new local variable such as x and assign it the value of i inside the loop, but just so that i has a new copy in the new scope each time. (if possible). • What is the best Java numerical method package?

  I am looking for a Java-based numerical method package that provides functionality including: Solving systems of equations using different numerical analysis algorithms. Matrix methods (e.g., inversion). Spline approximations. Probability distributions and statistical methods. In this case, "best" is defined as a package with a mature and usable API, solid performance and numerical accuracy. Edit: derick van brought up a good point in that cost is a factor. I am heavily biased in favor of free packages but others may have a different emphasis.

  While creating JavaScript with ASP.NET MVC I noticed several scope warnings and realized that I am missing something with understanding the variable scope inside the switch / case statement. Warning: 'i' is already defined referring to case b and case c My code looks similar to this: switch(element) { case 'a': for(var i=0; i < count; i++){ do something } break; case 'b': for(var i=0; i < count; i++){ do something } break; case 'c': for(var i=0; i < count; i++){ do something } break; } I thought scope ended with each break statement but it seems that scope does not end until the end of the switch/case. Is scope for the entire switch/case?

• MDX: How To Aggregate Hierarchy Level Members With Same Name

  Greetings, I am new to MDX, and am having trouble understanding how to perform an aggregation on a hierarchy level with members that have the same names. This query is particular to Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 cubes. I have a given hierarchy dimension with levels defined as follows: [Segment].[Flow].[Segment Week] Within the [Segment Week] level, I have the following members: [Week- 1] [Week- 2] [Week- 3] ... [Week- 1] [Week- 2] [Week- 3] The members have the same names, but are aligned with a different [Flow] in the parent level. So, the first occurrence of the [Week- 1] member aligns with [Flow].[A] while the second occurrence of [Week- 1] aligns with [Flow].[B]. What I am trying to do is aggregate all the members within the [Segment Week] level that have the same name. In SQL terms, I want to GROUP BY the member names within the [Segment Week] level. • Why doesn't this code using the ruby-mbox gem parse mbox files?

  I installed ruby-mbox by doing gem install ruby-mbox Running this: #!/usr/bin/ruby require 'rubygems' require 'mbox' m = IO.read('test.eml') puts m.size m = Mbox.new(m) puts m produces this: 71309505 /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/ruby-mbox-0.0.2/lib/mbox/mbox.rb:45:in `initialize': uninitialized constant Mbox::StringIO (NameError) from r.rb:7:in `new' from r.rb:7 I have proved that "m" is assigned a string containing the contents of the file, just before Mbox.new(m) is called. It looks as though the Mbox::StringIO should have been defined by hasn't been. What's going wrong here? Ruby version: ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-12 patchlevel 174) [universal-darwin10.0] (That's the default ruby installed on OS X 10.6.6)

  Naming things well is arguably Job 1 for professional programmers. Yet we have all suffered from some bad naming choices from time to time. So just to vent a little, what are some doozies that you may have run across? Just to get things started: One of our original developers wasn't sure what to call a secondary key - on what turned out to be a primary table for this app - so he called it: DL2WhateverTheHellThatIs. Unfortunately this system generates entity mappings from the XML, and attributes defined there result in classes, methods, and constants that are referenced through-out the app. To this day it is very hard to find a source file that does not reference this, er, thing! A few actual examples: DL2WhateverTheHellThatIsBean cos = (DL2WhateverTheHellThatIsBean)itr.next(); String code = getDL2WhateverTheHellThatIs().getCode(); From from = new From("DL2WhateverTheHellThatIs"); String filter = "_dL2WhateverTheHellThatIs._code"; (Very difficult to refactor)

  Hey you guys (and girls), I have implemented the following CSS: #tab-navigation ul li:last-child { background-image: url(../images/tabs-end.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; color: #fff; display: block; border: 1px solid red; background-position: right; } However, for some reason this is not working at all in IE (surprise!) - I read (after some research) that IE requires a DOCTYPE, but I already have <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> defined. Any ideas peeps?
