    Hi all, I'm looking for a solution that allows our office server to function as a proxy that blocks access to certain websites for certain LAN ip's. The solution i'm looking for has to meet these requirements: run on ubuntu server restrict access to certain websites based on a LAN ip (eg: shut out xxx.com for 192.168.1.152) restrict access to a website based on the website url (eg: shut out *.facebook.com) easily configurable (preferably through a web interface, our office manager should be able to operate it thus no commandline fu if possible) preferably opensource Thanks for your time!

    I have a WSUS 3.2 Installed on a Windows Server 2003 R2. SQL Server 2005. I want to move the WSUS DB from this server, to our new SQL Server 2008 R2 on a new Windows Server 2008 R2 Machine.   • What are the side-effects of disabling the old Lan Manager hash?

    All of the computers in our domain are running Windows XP/Server 2003 and above (with one exception, a Win2Ksp4 server, which is not a domain controller). I intend to disable the LM hashes via group policy as indicated in KB299656, and want to ensure that there won't be any unforseen problems or side-effects. Does anyone have experience with performing this change? Are there any caveats that I should keep in mind?

  • User cannot Add or Remove people from a distribution list using outlook.

    Recently we moved across a user and a distribution list from Exchange 2003 to 2010. The user used to be able to add and remove from a distribution list within Outlook. I have added them to the Managed by list in Exchange in the distribution list, but to no avail. They are getting an error message saying You do not have the sufficient permissions to perform this operation on this object. I cannot seem to find the setting to allow the user permissions.

    Hi I have created a windows2003 cluster and then try to configure MSDTC by following the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301600/#appliesto after follow this i have enable network DTC access in Windows Server 2003 by following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817064/ But the group i have created MSDTC( as said in first link from 7th point onwards ) for the resourse Distribution Transaction Coordinator failed and all are in online after done this. But i dont know why it is failing.. I dont know how to post the screen shot here.....

    Hey all I'm running XP Pro SP3 on a Late 2007-era 2.2Ghz Macbook. Unfortunately, it's recently started giving me a Blue Screen of Death when I try to hibernate it. It gives me the error "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", and at the bottom says that it's in "hiber_atapi.sys". Most of the Googling I've done thus far turns up things referring to Windows Server 2003, which is obviously less than useful. Anyone know any way to fix this short of a full re-install?

How do I figure out which public IP address matches which internal IP address? My goal is to change some public IP addresses. The particular web server is running IIS 6 on a Windows 2003 Server.   • Multiple nt52 entries in bootmgr

    I have a machine with Windows XP, Server 2003 R2, and Server 2008 R2. Right now, bootmgr has one entry for Server 2008 R2 and one entry for ntldr, which then leads to the ntldr boot.ini menu. Is it possible to add two different nt52 entries on two partitions so that I can access all three OSes from the bootmgr menu? Right now, Server 2008 and XP are in logical drives on an extended partition, but (I assume) I can image them onto basic partitions if necessary.

    I have MSMQ installed on two Windows XP computers. Can I configure them to pass messages back and forth, or do I need an MSMQ server in the middle? If I need an MSMQ server, does the normal MSMQ with Win2003 able to act as that? And then, how do I connect my Windows XP to that Windows 2003 server? Is it a) On screen admin dialog in the MSMQ plug-in to MMC, b) a config file, c) Active Directory, d) something else? Thanks, Neal Walters

It works fine when using GPO at: Setting Path: Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Internet Control Panel/Security Page Supported On: At least Internet Explorer 6.0 in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 Problem is this settings also affect other zones making it impossible for people in company to add sites to other zones themselves. Is there a way to fix this so that Intranet Zone is deployed thru GPO and rest of settings stay in gesture of users?

    We have a backup application that uses the Windows API BackupRead. It works correctly on Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2. It does not work on Storage Server 2008 R2. It always fails with error 50 - The request is not supported. The documentation for BackupRead gives no indication that it will not work with Storage Server 2008 R2. Anyone else have any experience using this API on Storage Server 2008 R2?

    We have a sever that shares all the printers. The PC's that are running on XP professional get a error message quoting (Connect to Printer). The only way I can find to get around the problem is by restating the printer and as soon is it comes online you can then add it but you have not got long. do you think it could be anything to-do with updates on the sever? the sever system is running Windows Server 2003 any help would be much appreciated.     Hi. We ghosted our old Windows 2003 drive to a new 1TB one, and connected through new PCI SATA card. The server fails to boot with error 1962: Boot sector not found. When we connect the drive directly to motherboard, it boots fine, so the problem is probably in getting BIOS boot from the SATA card. Does anyone know how to do it? Thanks.
