    I would like to know if there is a (cost free) way to backup Windows Server 2008 Active Directory and DNS settings without using Windows Server Backup. The problem stems from not having a seperate volume available to store the resulting backup from Windows Server Backup. I examined the command line options with wbadmin and it also expects the destination to be a dedicated volume for the backup. ~ED

  • I'm having a hard time choosing a hosting provider...

    So, what hosts do you recommend? The problem is, I can't manage the server. I know there's options out there like slicehost and vps.net, but management doesn't come with those. All I need is a simple lamp stack that can easily scale. Stuff like cloud sites (rackspace) is too expensive (starts at $150/month). I only need something small for now. Suggestions?

    I'm getting BlueScreens about every five days for more than three months. Here's an example: A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ntoskrnl.exe CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Of course the addresses change. My computer is a ThinkPad T400 (about 2 years old) with a SSD in it. I'm also running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. When I bought my computer, it had a 250GByte SeaGate HDD in it, which I replaced by a 500GByte HDD by Western Digital. Last september I bought a Corsair F120 SSD and replaced the HDD by this SSD. Then I bought a LEICKE HDD adapter for the UltraBay II where I plugged in my 500GByte HDD. This configuration ran about half a year without any errors. After re-installing Windows this spring, I am getting regular BlueScreens. Sometimes my system runs for about 2 weeks without a BSOD, sometimes I get several BlueScreens a day. The only thing that I noticed is, that I'm always running Google Chrome when it happens. Is there anyone who has made his/her own bad experiences whith some of my components or is there anybody who can tell me if it would be helpful to send my notebook to Lenovo?     Hello everyone, I'd like to setup postfix as an MTA for 2 domains, about 10 users each. I'm a bit confused with the documentation. Postfix has so many options for mail delivery. I'd like to have a simple file where I would store all the email addresses (and possibly their corresponding mailboxes). I wouldn't like neither system's passswd file nor mysql to be used for storing email users. What parts of documentation I should be focused on?

  • Why is my Sent folder empty in Outlook on Windows Mobile?

    I'm using Outlook on Windows Mobile 6.1 connected to an Exchange server. Even if I check the Sent folder in my synchronization options, the folder always shows up as having no messages. Even emails that I've sent FROM my phone do not show up, leaving me with no way to view those. Anything else I can check or enable to see these messages?

Looking in the logs: (13)Permission denied: Can't open directory for index: /xyz/www/ I've tried recursively adding 777 permissions but still have the same issue.

I have successfully managed to install it and get the green https on the main domain https://www.example.com however it doesn't any https://www.example.com/something but the route works under http://www.example.com I am using an .htacess file for some rewrite. Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^ index.php [L] the Ec2 instance is ubuntu if that helps in anyway.

    On a configuration in my workspace I have two options, Capture to Library and Archive to Library. What's the difference between the two? The Lab Manager User's Guide isn't very useful here: Archive a Workspace Configuration to the Library You can preserve the exact state of a configuration in the configuration library. Archived configurations are read-only, but you can clone, export, and delete them. Sounds like what Capture to Workspace does.

  • How do you get an add-on to run in Firefox 4?

    I have an add-on called Flash-Aid in Firefox 4 on my Ubuntu build, but ever since Mozilla came up with their new UI, I haven't been able to figure out how to get add-ons to actually run within Firefox. Double clicking them just opens up a detail page about them and there are no options to run them. With most add-ons, this isn't a problem since they usually don't need to be explicitly run, but this one does. Can someone tell me how to do this?

I would like to have each ghost cast session to write to a file ( can be multiple text files or append to one file already there ) statistics. I know this is possible based on the options GhostCast software provides for writing to a log file, but I would like this automated for every image being backed up and restored. I don't want to have my employees click write to a new file every time. Is this possible?

  • Is there a way to make IE7 default to ms-image-mode:bicubic?

    Internet Explorer 7 uses a rather crude method to resize images by default. There's a CSS tag img { -ms-interpolation-mode: bicubic; } to get better results, but I'm unable to change the source of the page. IE8 uses the better method as the default, but this is a corporate environment that is unable to upgrade at this moment. Is there anything in the options or a registry hack to change the default resizing mode in IE7?

I honestly don't know if this caused any damages or not. But it's prompted that /etc/ssh/sshd_config was stored as /etc/ssh/sshd_config.rpmnew which was quite normal. I've seen similar posts while googling, but almost all of them suggests that I should check /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny, which in my case, I can't. I can not connect to the box to see what's going on there. I rebooted the box, through web interface of server provider, and it even got worse.   • Does NAT change the source MAC address?

    I'm trying to secure my home network but don't really need the complexity of a VPN so I'm trying to figure out other options. I'd like to allow my iPhone remote access to my home servers but I can't depend on the IP address because it changes quite often (due to the 3G network, etc). Can I filter incoming connections on my router (pfsense) by MAC address or does NAT change the source as it's passing through the different routers on the internet?
