WWSAPI and setting "soapenv:Header" values

I'm trying to connect to a web service from a C++ app using WWS. I got the base connection working just fine. My XML message has two parts though, a header (soapenv:Header) and a body (soapenv:Body). the generated functions only fill in the body. How do I set the Header information? I assumed it has something to do with WsSetHeader() or WsAddCustomHeader() but can't seam to find the right values to use in the parameters. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I've been googling and trying to research this now for several days and am finding many sources for basic help with WWSAPI, but nothing seams to go deeper into how to use it for more advanced applications. any good links or resources to find more advanced help on WWSAPI? CSS Child selectors in IE7 tables

I'm trying to use the CSS child selector in IE7, and it doesn't seem to work. I have nested tables. My outer table has a class name "mytable", and I want the td's of the outer table to show borders. I don't want the inner table td's to have borders. I think I should be able to have CSS that looks like this: .mytable { border-style: solid } .mytable>tr>td { border-style: solid } But the second line seems to have no effect. If I change the second line to make it less specific, it applies to all the td's - I see too many borders. td { border-style: solid } So I think it really is just an issue with the selectors. Pages like this suggest that IE7 should be able to do what I want. Am I doing something silly? Jalopy comments indentation

Hi All. We use jalopy to format our code to the sun standard (well 99%). I have 1 issue with it. It keeps moving comments to the right of the line. E.g // Panel "JPanel.border", new LazyValue(packageName + "PanelBorder"), //frozen // Button "Button.background", new ColorUIResource(251, 251, 251), //frozen "Button.foreground", new ColorUIResource(0, 0, 0), //frozen But jalopy always moves the // Button to the far right. // Panel "JPanel.border", new LazyValue(packageName + "PanelBorder"), //frozen // Button "Button.background", new ColorUIResource(251, 251, 251), //frozen "Button.foreground", new ColorUIResource(0, 0, 0), //frozen Is there any way to stop this? Concerns about reading a file in Flash 10

Hi, I'd like to read an xml file on a user's machine (which can be kind of large). There's no point in me sending the file to my server as I can do all the work I need on the file right on the client's machine. Not sure if this is a good fit though, was wondering if anyone can answer these questions before I dive in: I see at adobe's website that Flash 10 has like 94% penetration, is this true, I thought it was just released not too long ago? After opening the xml file in flash, is it possible to just throw it to a javascript function on my same page for further processing? I'd like to go into flash world for as short a time as possible. Is it at all common to use flash for file upload stuff? I heard aol/flickr are? I would need to buy flash in order to do this right, they don't have a free ide/compiler yet? Thanks

C# WinForms StatusStrip - How do I reclaim the space from the "Grip"

I've got a StatusStrip with a single ToolStripStatusLabel, Spring=true and a background color for notifications. The problem is that there's an ugly gray square on the right side of the status strip. After fiddling for a while, I realized this is the sizing grip (I had is set to SizingGrip=false, GripStyle=Hidden). Yet even with it hidden, it still hogs the space. I can't get any content on the status strip to extend all the way to the right. How would you work around this? Note I can't just set the backcolor of the StatusStrip because the Status Label changes colors and has some fading effects.

Below there's an example of what's inside of the css box i created. How can I align these three elements (calendar and icon to the left , a text link to the center, and the other date field to the right ?) correctly ? How can I create a JTable where the first column is always in the JScrollPane viewport?

What's the best way to set up a table in a JScrollPane such that the first column is always on the screen in the same position regardless of horizontal scrolling and overlaps columns that pass underneath? When the scrollbar is at the farthest left, the columns look normal, but as the user scrolls to the right, the secondary columns (2 and on) move underneath the first until the last column appears on the far right of the viewport? I found a sample taken from Eckstein's "Java Swing" book that sort of does this, but it doesn't allow resizing of the first column. I was thinking of some scheme where one JPanel held a horizontal struct and a table holding the secondary columns and another JPanel which floated over them (fixed regardless of scrolling). The struct would be to keep the viewport range constant as the first column floated around. Ideally I could do it with two tables using the same model, but I'm not sure if the whole idea is a naive solution.

How to use a specific Windows SDK with MSBuild?

I have a large project made of many C++ and C# projects, and a MSBuild (3.5) script to build the whole thing. This script is based on the VCBuild (C++ projects) and MSBuild (C# projects) tasks. It is regularly executed by a Continuous Integration server. I want to be able to select a specific Windows SDK (v6.0A, v7.0, v7.1...) to be used for compilation. As I have many branches in my repository that would ultimately need a different SDK version, I need a way to select the right one before each compilation. On my computer, I have been able to setup a batch script that calls the right SetEnv.cmd before launching the MSBuild script. But this solution is not usable on the CI server as the MSBuild script is executed directly. Do you know of a way to achieve the equivalent of SetEnv.cmd under MSBuild?

I am building an ASP.NET server control which extends CompositeControl. I need fine grained control over the rendering, so I override Render() and output the child controls myself, interspersed with HTML generation code: writer.AddStyleAttribute("float", "left"); writer.RenderBeginTag(System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriterTag.Div); writer.RenderBeginTag(System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriterTag.Strong); writer.Write("Table"); writer.RenderEndTag(); // strong writer.WriteBreak(); tableList.RenderControl(writer); writer.RenderEndTag(); // div This works really well for user controls that just contain simple controls without children of their own. However, if I want to use something like a MultiView or an UpdatePanel I run into problems, since I can't override Render() on View or UpdatePanel without extending them, and if I do extend them the implementation would presumably have to depend on FindControl() voodoo to get references to the right controls during render. That doesn't sound like the right way to do this - is there a better way?

C# - Determine if class initializaion causes infinite recursion?

I am working on porting a VB6 application to C# (Winforms 3.5) and while doing so I'm trying to break up the functionality into various classes (ie database class, data validation class, string manipulation class). Right now when I attempt to run the program in Debug mode the program pauses and then crashes with a StackOverFlowException. VS 2008 suggests a infinite recursion cause. I have been trying to trace what might be causing this recursion and right now my only hypothesis is that class initializations (which I do in the header(?) of each class). My thought is this: mainForm initializes classA classA initializes classB classB initializes classA .... Does this make sense or should I be looking elsewhere? iPhone: Activate UISlider and set its value to the location of the current touch programatically

Is it possible to set an UISlider as first responder and set its current value to the location of the current touch programatically? The way my app is set up I have a UIView container that takes up the whole screen. Inside the container I have another UIView offscreen at the bottom edge (I'll call this bottomBar). Inside the bottomBar there is a UISlider element. Right now, when the user swipes along the bottom edge of the screen the bottomBar the slider it contains slide up. What I am trying to achieve is to activate the UISlider, and set the position of the slider (the value) to the position of the users touch. Is this possible? Could someone please point me in the right direction?

NHibernate's automatic (dirty checking) update behaviour - turning it off

I've just discovered that if I get an object from an NHibernate session and change a property on object, NHibernate will automatically update the object on commit without me calling Session.Update(myObj)! I can see how this could be helpful, but as default behaviour it seems crazy! How can I stop this happening? Is this default NHib behaviour or something coming from Fluent NHibs AutoPersistenceModel? If there's no way to stop this, what do I do? Unless I'm missing the point this behaviour seems to create a right mess, violating my UoW. Im using NHibernate 2.0.1.4 and a Fluent NHib build from 18/3/2009 Edit, is this guy right with his answer? Edit: I've also read that overriding an Event Listener could be a solution to this. However, IDirtyCheckEventListener.OnDirtyCheck isn't called in this situation. Does anyone know which listener I need to override? Thanks Andrew

OpenGL coordinates question

Hey, I have a simple OpenGL drawing. When the user changes the window's size, I want the drawing to maintain it's aspect ration. I accomplished that by setting the glViewport to the maximum rectangle with the appropriate aspect ration whenever the reshape method is called. My problem is that I want to draw a square that will always remain in the top right corner of the window, no matter what the size or shape of the window is. Right now, that square moves around the screen whenever the window is reshaped. Can anyone please explain how to do this? Thank you,

hibernate column uniqueness question

I'm still in the process of learning hibernate/hql and I have a question that's half best practices question/half sanity check. Let's say I have a class A: @Entity public class A { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.AUTO) private Long id; @Column(unique=true) private String name = ""; //getters, setters, etc. omitted for brevity } I want to enforce that every instance of A that gets saved has a unique name (hence the @Column annotation), but I also want to be able to handle the case where there's already an A instance saved that has that name. I see two ways of doing this: 1) I can catch the org.hibernate.exception.ConstraintViolationException that could be thrown during the session.saveOrUpdate() call and try to handle it. 2) I can query for existing instances of A that already have that name in the DAO before calling session.saveOrUpdate(). Right now I'm leaning towards approach 2, because in approach 1 I don't know how to programmatically figure out which constraint was violated (there are a couple of other unique members in A). Multilangual Unicode rendering in opengl

Hi Folks, I have to extend an OpenGL-Rendering System to support international characters (especially Hebrew, Arabic and cyrillic). Development Platform is Windows(XP|Vista|7), Alas using Embercardero Delphi 2010. I currently use wglOutLineFont(...) to build my font's display list and glCallLists(length(m_Text), UNSIGNED_SHORT, PWchar(m_Text) ) to render my strings. While this is feasable for Latin-1 Characters, building the full unicode character set in advanced is pretty time-consuming (about 8.5 minutes on my machine), so i am looking for a more efficient solution. I thought about limiting the range from u+0020 - u+077f (latin, greek, cyrillic, arbaic and hebrew) to include just the glyphs i need, but that would just be a solution for my current needs, and will become insufficent once other encoding is needed. On the upside, i do not have to worry about left-to right or right-to left direction as our application can handle this already. I would expect this to be a well-known problem, so i would like to ask if there is any reference material on this on the web, or if you could share some insight on this?

FilePageSetupHeader in MS Project VBA project: Display image dynamically

I want to display an image when printing a page from MS Page using the FilePageSetupHeader. It all works fine if I pass in the parameter for the Text property as a string as such FilePageSetupHeader Alignment:=pjRight, Text:="&P""C:\filepath\image.gif""" However, I'd prefer to be able to pass the filepath to the image to display as a variable. Somehow I can't get it right. So if I try something like the following: vImagePath = """&P""""" & prjFilePath & "\image.gif"""""" FilePageSetupHeader Alignment:=pjRight, Text:=vImagePath it just displays the path as a string. I'm pretty sure it boils down to something simple like escaping the quotes in the correct way, but I've been playing around with it for a while now and I can't seem to get it right. Any idea how this works?

Jing + swfobject 2.2 = big video in small div

I am trying to use swfobject 2.2 to display an swf, but the swf won't scale to fit the div that I'm putting it in. You can see what I've got here. When it first loads, it is the right size, then it expands larger for some reason. If I right-click on the movie and select "Show All", it then fits perfectly. Problem getting ar_mailer/ar_sendmail working on new server

Hey all. I've got a new app up and running on a new ubuntu server. It's working fine generally but i can't get ar_sendmail working. I'm following the instructions on this page: http://www.ameravant.com/posts/sending-tons-of-emails-in-ruby-on-rails-with-ar_mailer The setup is all done, ie i can "deliver mails" which just saves records in my Email table. Now i want to get the ar_sendmail daemon running to actually send them. (so i'm at 'Running ar_sendmail in daemon mode' in that web page). First thing: ar_sendmail --mailq >>ar_sendmail: command not found Ok...so, where is ar_sendmail? I have a look and there's an ar_sendmail file in the bin folder of the ar_mailer plugin, so i add the location of that to my path. I don't know if this was the right thing to do or not. Ok, so try again. ar_sendmail --mailq /var/www/apps/millionaire/vendor/plugins/ar_mailer/bin/ar_sendmail:3:in `require': no such file to load -- action_mailer/ar_sendmail (LoadError) from /var/www/apps/millionaire/vendor/plugins/ar_mailer/bin/ar_sendmail:3 hmm. Here's the offending file, there's not much there. #!/usr/bin/env ruby require 'action_mailer/ar_sendmail' ActionMailer::ARSendmail.run ok...so it literally is just trying to require this and can't find it. The file, action_mailer/ar_sendmail.rb is in the ar_mailer plugin, in it's lib folder. So, given that it's being called from inside the plugin, it should be able to see this right? I've got a feeling that i'm way off the track here and have missed something simple. Can anyone set me straight? I'm using rails 2.3.4 in case that's relevant. EDIT - i just realised something kind of dumb: when i call ar_sendmail from the command line like this, i'm just loading that one file, which doesn't know where it's supposed to look for the rest of the stuff, i think. Which really makes me think that i'm not trying to run the right thing. Is the ar_sendmail daemon a seperate program altogether, that i would get with apt_get or something? EDIT2 - i made some progress by installing the ar_mailer gem (which the guide said i shouldn't do) and that does seem to run. It's sending some mail request somewhere and clearing the Email table of pending emails. Running ar_sendmail in -ov (oneshot verbal) mode i see it report this for example: sent email 00000000019 from [email protected] to [email protected]: # So, it actually looks like it's working now and i just need to set up the ACTUAL THING WHICH SENDS EMAILS. sigh. still grateful for any advice. thanks, max

Safari extension - Too many injected scripts responding to message

Hi, I am trying to code a safari extension similar to Bubble Translate for Chrome. when you click a button on the toolbar, it automatically translates the text currently selected to the language of your choice using the Google language API. I use the following injected script to get the highlighted text and display the result (as an alert for the time being): http://pastebin.com/bYVuQAmp I use the following global script to call the injected script if neccessary: hxxp://pastebin.com/VHaAKM5a The problem I have is the following: The script does not just get injected into the main page but also into ads and similar stuff that is embedded into the page. Due to that, the selected text gets translated multiple times because all the embedded scripts in one page respond to the message. bash tips needed for understanding how to escape characters in command-line

My knowledge of commandline bash is missing on a particular area: I constantly forget how to properly escape characters. Today I wanted to echo this string into a file: #!/bin/env bash python -m SimpleHTTPServer echo "#!/bin/env bash\npython -m SimpleHTTPServer" server.sh && chmod +x server.sh -bash: !/bin/env: event not found That's right: Remember to escape ! or bash will think it's a special bash event command. But I can't get the escaping right! \! yields \! in the echoed string, and so does \\!. Furthermore, \n will not translate to a line break. Do you have some general tips that makes it easier for me to understand escaping rules? To be very precise, I'll accept an answer which tells me which characters I should escape on the bash command line? Including how to correctly output newline and exclamation mark in my example.
