• setSelection on Spinner based on rowId

  Hi! I have a Spinner View that's populated through a SimpleCursorAdapter. Based on the selection I need to save the rowid in the entry database (position won't work because things can be added and deleted from the Spinner Database). This I can do by using spinner.getAdapter().getItemId(pos) . But When I edit an entry I need to make the Spinner position selected that is associated with this rowid (currently). spinner.setSelection(position) won't work because I have the rowid, I need a way to find the current position of the item in the current spinner based on the rowid in the database.

• Crystal Reports Server - Database Login Needs to go Away

  The environment I'm working in is a Crystal Reports Server 2008 talking to a MySQL Server 5.1 database using JDBC. The problem is that I get a database logon screen every time I try to access a report from Crystal Reports Server. I've setup a JDBC connection using the MySQL Connector/J driver. When I create a .rpt file I provide the login credentails all is fine. I then publish to InfoView and go to access the report and it prompts me for username and password to the database. I then went to CMC and right-clicked on the report and opened the Database Configuration. I've selected 'Use original database logon information from the report' and 'Use same database logon as when report is run'. However, I still get the logon screen when I try to access the report.

  Consider an Explorer-like list view with a number of columns. The data is fetched from a database, and the rows can be sorted by clicking the column headers. When you click column A, you expect the fetched data to be sorted by A - at the database level ("ORDER BY" at the selected column). However, sometimes it is desirable to sort the data presented in the GUI - the visible data (WYSIWYG). How do you combine these two? E.g. How do you allow the user to sort both the fetched data and the data visible in the GUI? Have you seen a GUI that solves this elegantly?

• Using GIT Smart HTTP via IIS

  I recently read Scott Chacon's post "Smart HTTP Transport", and I was hoping that it might have become possible via IIS (windows 7) since that post was written. I haven't been able to find anything showing how it can be done, and Apache is not an option in my IIS 7 based environment. So, I'm at a loss (git daemon was foiled for me by a combination of AVG anti-virus and AD). I want to provide LDAP authenticated read/write access for selected users. So this question seems not to be relevant. Do you know of a way to provide access to GIT via IIS?

• Tips on implementing a custom UITextView interface on the iPhone?

  I am trying to implement a control to edit text that will display the text in multiple colors. None of the solutions I have attempted yet have been good enough. UITextView cannot accomplish this. All of the text must be the same color. Using CoreGraphics to draw the text does not allow the text to be selected. Using a UIWebView, DIV and PRE tags cannot be set to contentEditable on Mobile Safari. Currently playing with using an off-screen TEXTAREA and an on-screen DIV to show the rendered text. This works pretty well, except supporting all of these at the same time seems impossible: click-to-type, click-to-move-cursor, click-and-hold-select/copy/paste. Anyone have any tips on this predicament? I've been trying to find any preexisting library out there that will accomplish this in a good way, to no luck. I'm open to any ideas!

  Hi, I have some doubts about ASP.Net MVC, and i would like to ask few questions. If i understood well, a controller/action is selected from a httprequest. As one request is used to get one web page, could we call to these controllers "page controllers"? My other question is about the widgets and RenderPartial method. If a widget represent a classic asp.net webcontrol or usercontrol, and i want to render this widget in a lot of pages, how could avoid repeat the logic of the widget if this logic is in the "page controller"? • Ext GWT (GXT) tooltip over a grid row

  I'm developing a custom tooltip using Ext GWT (GXT) for a project of mine, and this tooltip has to appear over Grid rows when they're selected. I can't use the default GXT tooltip or quicktip because I need be able to add Components (like buttons) to this tooltip. The problem is that the GXT Grid component doesn't expose a event related to mousing over a row (although there's RowClick and RowMouseDown). I tried adding a listener to the Grid with the OnMouseOver and OnMouseOut events anyway, but it doesn't work as expected. It fires these events up whenever you mouse over any of the divs and spans that composes a row. The only way I see to solve this is to subclass the GridView component and make each row become a Component itself, but that would be a lot of work and would probably impact performance as well. I can't help but think there's a better way to do this. Could someone more experienced with GXT give me a light?

What i need is to refresh the calendar each time the user changes the dropdown. • didSelectRowAtIndexPath TableView Popover Issue

  I've tried a lot of different code examples including just brute force try this try that but, stumped. The popover left arrow seems to display just fine if the first row is displayed at the very top of the table view but, when the table scrolls down the popover left arrow doesn't align correctly with the table row selected. Solutions or suggestions would be most appreciated. • tablesorter pager initial pagination

  Hi, This might sound like a very stupid question to some of you, but I assure you I've been checking through the internet and I haven't had any luck about this. My question is: is it possible to set an initial pagination number in the tablesorter pager plugin? By default it takes the 10 option, but I've tried to put a 5 as the selected option and it loads 10 anyway. If I change it and come back to the 5 it will load as said, 5, but not at the beggining. Is there any option when loading the tablesorter? My code for the tablesorter is this: $("#TST").tablesorter({ headers: { 0: { sorter: false }, 4: { sorter: false }, 5: { sorter: false }, 6: { sorter: false} }, sortList: [[1, 0], [2, 0], [3, 0]], widgets: ['zebra'] }) .tablesorterPager({ container: $("#TSTPager"), positionFixed: false //, //pagesize: 5 }); the pagesize attribute I wrote in the tablesorterPager was a test, but it doesn't do what I want it to.

• Saving custom attributes in NSAttributedString

  I need to add a custom attribute to the selected text in an NSTextView. So I can do that by getting the attributed string for the selection, adding a custom attribute to it, and then replacing the selection with my new attributed string. So now I get the text view's attributed string as NSData and write it to a file. Later when I open that file and restore it to the text view my custom attributes are gone! After working out the entire scheme for my custom attribute I find that custom attributes are not saved for you. Look at the IMPORTANT note here: http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/DOCUMENTATION/Cocoa/Conceptual/AttributedStrings/Tasks/RTFAndAttrStrings.html So I have no idea how to save and restore my documents with this custom attribute. Any help?

• Select row After UIPickerView is loaded

  I have an iphone database app that loads a UIPickerView with data from a table. I want to set the selected row to a particular row from the data in another table. for example: Lets say I have a UIPickerView that is loaded with X number of names of the iPhone users friends (the number of names is variable, could be 1 or 1000 and all are entered into the DB by the user). The iPhone user has a preference set that their current best friend is TED. I want the UIPickerView to be position to TED when displayed. Where do I call selectRow? I tried in viewDidAppear but it was never called, in titleForRow which caused all kinds of strange behavior. viewDidLoad and viewWillAppear are out of the question because I don't know what's in the datasource to the picker yet.   I was recently trying to use some code templates with Eclipse PDT 2.1 to speed up some common tasks. We use a lot of getters/setters, so I wrote the following template. function get${word_selection}() { return $$this->getData('${word_selection}'); } function set${word_selection}($$${word_selection}) { $$this->setData('${word_selection}', $$${word_selection}); } I named the template "getset" and the only way I know to use the Code Assist is to type: "getset" then hit my code assist keys (I have it set to Esc, but I think the default was Ctrl+Space). The problem is, this doesn't actually let me select a word to be used by the ${word_selection}. My question is: how do I type in my template name, hit the key combo, and have a word selected all at the same time?

• pygtk - dynamically update the widgets taking input from the gtk combo box

  On selecting value from 1 to 10 from gtk combox box it should populate the checkbox by taking combo box value as an input. Say for example if i select 5 then 5 checkbox will be generated. It works.. But the issue is after i selected 5 now im selecting next value as 3 from combo box then there 8 checkboxes are displayed. The old 5 checkbox didnt get replaced. Is there any way to refresh the vbox(which has the checkboxes) or update to a new value. Enviroment : FC10 , Glade 2 , Python 2.5 , GTK.

• unrecognized selector sent to instance on deviceOrientationDidChange

  Right now my app should only supports Portrait. On Summary/Supported Device Orientations I have only selected Portrait so I'm hoping that my app will not rotate. I was testing the app on a device and suddenly I'm getting the following error randomly: [UIButtonContent deviceOrientationDidChange:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance It happens when I rotate the device SOMETIMES, is not consistent, and is not always over UIBUttonContent. I supposed that if I only select Portrait, deviceOrientationDidChange should not be called or should be ignored. Other times my app crashes with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS (code=1, address=something) but it happens when I rotate the device so I'm guessing that both errors are related. I don't know what to do with this, it's hard to debug because I don't have feedback, the All Exceptions Breakpoint is not being called, so I don't know where and exactly why this is happening. Any idea on how to debug this is welcome.

I suspect that when the viewstate for the dynamcially created dropdownlists is restored and the selection restored, then the event is fired because technically the selected index did change when the control was recreated. The reason I suspect this is that the event fires the for each dropdownlist...

• SQL Server CE, Visual Studio 2008/2010 RC, and Linq-to-Sql

  I added an .sdf to my project, added a table, added a Linq-to-Sql dmbl, and tried to add the table to the dbml. The result was an error: "The selected object(s) are an unsupported data provider" This happens in both VS 2008 Professional SP1 and 2010 RC Ultimate. I found someone talking about using SQL Metal to generate the file, but I didn't enjoy that 2 years ago, and after a little playing around I recall why. Does anyone know if this is going to be supported in the release version? Should I abandon SQL Server CE and just use SQLite (with DbLinq)? Thanks for any insight.

  I have a wcf service in front of an AzMan store that passes roles and operations to clients using the following interface: [OperationContract] bool AuthenticateUser(string password, string appName); [OperationContract] string[] GetRoles(string storelocation, string appName); [OperationContract] string[] GetOperations(string storeLocation, string appName, string selectedRole); Clients connect to this service using windows authentication (but users must send their password through to reaffirm their identity). Ultimately the service delivers an array of operations that each client can perform based on their selected role. I've opened a new Silverlight Business Application and tried to understand how authentication/authorization works in this template, as well as scoured the web to find examples to how to hook my webservice to the login box already created in the template, but I am completely at a loss as how to do this! Can anyone offer any advice?

• WPF RichTextBox - Formatting of typed text

  I am applying formatting to selected tokens in a WPF RichTextBox. To do this I get a TextRange that encompasses the token that I would like to highlight. I will then change the color of the text like this: textRange.ApplyPropertyValue(TextElement.ForegroundProperty, Brushes.Blue); This is happening on the TextChanged event of my RichTextBox. The formatting is applied as expected, but continuing to type text will result in the new text inheriting the formatting that has already been applied to the adjacent word. I would like the formatting of any new text to use the default formatting options defined in the RichTextBox properties. Is this possible? Alternatively I could highlight all tokens that I don't want be blue with the default formatting options but this feels awkward to me.

The files selected may exceed the server's upload size limit. If you are transfering a large group of files, try uploading fewer at a time." however web-application owners are able to upload the file. what would be the issue, any thoughts?   I'm usung the jQuery datepicker. In my "EndDate" textbox I'd like to use the date selected from the the "StartDate" textbox + 1. How do I do this? I tried this but didn't work. In my start date code I had... test = $(this).datepicker('getDate'); testm = new Date(test.getTime()); testm.setDate(testm.getDate() + 1); Then in my end date code I had... minDate: testm, but the end date still made all the days for the month available. Thanks. Edit. I'm curious as to why this doesn't work. In my start date datepicker I have this.. onSelect: function (dateText, inst) test = dateText Why can't I come down into my end date datepicker and say, minDate: test?
