  • Dual Monitors don't wake up...

    Recently I put my second monitor on my computer. I have now two connections on my ATI graphic card: a VGA and newly added a DVI one. like this: Sine that, I need to start my computer with monitors powered ON, because if I do it after, thay does not "get up" and says that is "no video entry". Also, if I switch OFF my monitors when computer works, switching ON lets them in the sleep state... How can I fix this issue.

It seems that Excel is using a question mark as a wild card and will turn all cells with at least one character in them red. How can i escape the question mark? These don't seem to work: "?" \?     Everytime I boot my Linux system, I get these errors while ALSA boots. Despite these, the sound still works, so these are more of an annoyance than anything. How do I stop these occuring? Example: All users will have a RFID card or a fingerprint entry registered on the domain (linked to the user name), and I would like to secure the buildings (doorlock, airlock) using this and controlled by Active Directory (ex: authorizing a group to use some doors, disabling the user will make the RFID/Fingerprint ineffective, access logging) Is this possible ? Is there a way or a software program where I can manage which program (Outlook, WM) uses which Internet connection or network card? Using the option of interface metric is not what I am looking for. Someone also suggested me ZoneAlarm, but I dislike this program.

  • Alsa devices under Wine

    Hi all, I'm running OpenSuse 11.2 and Wine 1.1.28. Even if audio is perfectly working fine for me (Skype, Banshee, etc), when I try to configure audio for Wine (to use Spotify) I cannot hear anything from the audio test. In the winecfg audio tab, ALSA is checked, but no devices are available. I tried to run alsaconf (it needs root permissions) but it returns: No supported PnP or PCI card found No legacy drivers available, either. Any idea?

    I have problem with Realtek 5.1 driver for Windows 7 x64. I've installed newest drivers for Realtek HD Audio, but 5.1 still doesn't work, the only thing that works is front stereo. However, when I click on single speaker in sound settings test, every one of them work. Sorry that the image isn't in english, but I hope you can understand the point.

  • long access times and errors in iis application

    I am having an issue with an IIS application (details of environment at the end of the message). The web site works great most of the time and I cannot reproduce any error in our test system. On the live system however with on averare of 5-15 requests per second I have a problem with that some requests (about 0.05%) will take over 300 seconds to complete. The other requests complete withing 5-10 seconds. It seem like if all the errornous requests end up with a Timer_EntityBody error in the error log. I have never seen this as an end user but I guess that they will receive some kind of error message. I am trying to find out what can be causing this errornous behaviour. Any ideas are welcome. I have read something about that there can be an MTU issue if ICMP and MTU protocols are blocked in the firewall. Does that sound reasonable? I have also read about updating to IIS 7 should do the trick. Does it sound reasonable? I think that the problem has another cause but I have no idea of what. I have tried running hte perormance monitor, monitoring for database locks and active transaction counts. I can see some of these in the perfmon log for the MSSQL server (another machine) for example: Active transactions is sometimes peaking and sometimes for long periods Lock waits per seconds is sometimes peaking Transactions per second is sometimes peaking Page IO Latch wait is sometimes peaking Lock wait time (ms) is sometimes peaking But I cannot see that any of these correlate to the errors in the IIS error log. On the IIS server machine I can also see with perfmon that some values peak a few times during a day: Request execution time Avg disk queue length I can neither see that any of these correlate to the errors in the IIS error log.     Can anyone recommend a good eSATA PCIe card for Windows Server 2008 (x64)? I bought a J-Micron JMB363 and it's recognized by the OS and I can install one of their reference drivers, but it's not picking up the drive I have attached to it. Basically, I want to be able to transfer exported Hyper-V machines quickly to an external drive, and it seems that using one of these eSATA cards is the way to go.

    My screen flickers at 1280 x 1024, 75 hertz, 32 bit color, Dell Monitor e190s 19 inch square monitor. This problem only at the above mentioned resolution , it works fine with other resolutions. I just bought this Monitor 2 days back, do you think the Monitor is defective ? Why is this problem occurring , the system says this is the recommended resolution. Can it be due to my graphic Card ATI xpress 200, 256 MB (in built). Pentium 4 Windows 7 32 bit OS

  • Ubuntu 9.1 - Audio coming from both speakers and headphones

    I have an HP Compaq nc8230 that has an annoying little problem with it's audio devices in Ubuntu 9.1. When I have the headphones plugged in, the audio continues to play simultaneously through the speakers no matter what. I'm not sure what kind of sound card this computer has, but in WIndows XP, Vista, 7 and OSx86 I didn't have this problem. I've tried using 3 different headphones and it didn't change anything. Please help.

    Hi, I am running Ubuntu 9.10 on an ASUS eeepc 1000HE, and my wireless card, RaLink RT 2860, is failing to recognize any wireless networks. It was working fine this morning, until I accidentally hit Fn F2, disabling the wireless card.   • route lan traffic through wirless mifi

    I have a Windows 7 laptop accessing the internet through Verizon wireless MIFI configured as 192.168.1.1. It supports only 5 wireless connections, so I don't want to use up connections unnecessarily. That laptop has an ethernet nic which I have given a static IP of 192.168.0.5. Everything else on the 192.168.0.0 network acquires an address via DHCP from a DLink router whose address is 192.168.0.1. Also on that network are a printer, some network cameras, and a linux pc. The linux pc does not have a wireless card (and I don't want to buy one). The linux pc is located at 192.168.0.122. I can ping the linux pc from the windows pc. But I cannot access the internet from the linux pc. I can ping everything on the 192.168.0.0 network EXCEPT the ethernet card in the Windows PC. It seems as though my DLink router will not route requests to the 192.168.0.5 nic on the windows pc. My windows pc has a default route pointing to the 192.168.1.0 network. It also has a route telling it to route all traffic destined for the 192.168.0.0 network through the 192.168.0.5 interface. I have tried adding a default route to the linux pc to "gateway" 192.168.0.5, but that does not work. I have also tried adding a default route to the linux pc to the gateway 192.168.0.1 (the DLink router) but that will not give me internet access either (over the 192.168.1.0 network). I tried these two different routes at different times - I did not set them both at the same time. I suppose this is a simple problem to solve, but I cannot seem to solve it. How can I give internet access over the 192.168.1.1 MIFI to my linux pc on 192.168.0.122? I don't want to use Windows internet connection sharing because I believe it will set up the ethernet nic as a gateway on 192.168.0.1 and a DHCP server. I already have the Dlink performing that role and I don't want to change that if I do not have to. (The Dlink permits me to make DHCP reservations and I really like that feature. I don't want to lose it.)

  • internet disconnects

    Internet disconnects and reconnects, computer is in a peer to peer workstation with two other computers XP o/s. Only one computer has this problem the other two don't disconnect. Computer's connect to switch no router is being used. Ipconfig shows a DHCP connection, local area connection status shows packets being sent out but packets are not being received or being received at a extremely slow rate. Tried Winstock tool, reinstalling network card driver, restored to previous date, checked ethernet cable and release/renew IP.
