  • PHP: Simulate multiple MySQL connections to same database

    An insert query is constantly getting logged in my MySQL slow query log. I want to see how much time the INSERT query is taking with 100 simultaneous insert operations(to the same table). So I need to simulate the follwoing. 500 different simultaneous connections from PHP to the same database on a mysql server, all of which are inserting a row(simultaneously) to the same table. DO I need to use any load testing tool? Or Can I simply write a PHP script to do this? Any thoughts?

  • Methods in the namespace System.Security.Cryptography take 2 minutes to perform when service is hosted in IIS

    I built an ASP.NET web-service that uses the System.Security.Cryptography namespace when it handles its requests. When I hosted the service in ASP.NET Development Server, everything worked fine. Then I moved the service into IIS, still using localhost addresses, and surprisingly, each time the service calls a method from the specified namespace, it takes 2 minutes to complete! If a single request requires the service to call 3 methods of the specified namespace, then the request takes total of 6 minutes to complete! The traces show that the request has been received on time, and they show an interval of around 2 minutes upon each call to the specified namespace. Did anyone see this strange behavior elsewhere? Any speculation would be appreciated!

  • How does SWTBOT run a custom eclipse based application? I don't know how to specify my target application

    I have an eclipse based application. I have heard of swtbot however I am having a hard time understanding how exactly does this tool run my application and how would I specify that. This eclipse based application has an executable and various configuration/plugin/features files. I have done the tutorials about swtbot and I have successfully completed them but they all just create a template application to test on. Is this even possible? If not do you guys have any alternatives for UI automation testing on eclipse based apps? Thanks.

  • Visual Studio 2010 Not Recognizing Unit Test

    In an existing solution I added a new Test Project. In my Test Project .cs file I have a class decorated with the [TestClass] attribute and a method decorated with the [TestMethod] attribute. I have verified that in Configuration Manager the build check box is checked for the Test Project (as my google search has revealed was the problem for others with this issue). I have set Test Project as my start up project for the solution. When I try to start the test I get "Can not start test project because the project does not contain any tests". I am really new to unit testing. What am I missing?

  • Put objects which are decorated with [DataContract] into a StateServer?

    Is there anyway to stick objects which are decorated with DataContract attributes but not decorated with Serializable attributes in to a SqlServer StateServer? In other words, I would prefer not having to decorate these objects with the Serializable attribute as I will also have to implement IXmlSerizable on all of these objects because they do not have empty contstructors, and non-public setters for properties.

  • How can I change ruby log level in unit tests based on context

    I'm new to ruby so forgive me if this is simple or I get some terminology wrong. I've got a bunch of unit tests (actually they're integration tests for another project, but they use ruby test/unit) and they all include from a module that sets up an instance variable for the log object. When I run the individual tests I'd like log.level to be debug, but when I run a suite I'd like log.level to be error. Is it possible to do this with the approach I'm taking, or does the code need to be restructured? Here's a small example of what I have so far. I am trying to get input from you guys on which is better approach for the SOA application: Here is the requirement: We want to develop SOA application that helps other vendors to integrate with our system. I also understand for some clients we need to bring new fields to support the integration. Solution Needed: Looking for either one SOA application which can handle all the clients to do the integration with our system. Question Is it possible to do so? Because we might have different contracts possibly bringing new fields coming into the contracts. (or) Develop a another SOA service if the service contract changes and have a front gate SOA service to divert the call to the appropriate SOA services based on the version [Probably mentioned in the SOAP header].     I read that when hosting a queue endpoint all these names need to match: Hosted in IIS at: http://localhost/MyService.svc service endpoint address: http://localhost/private/MyService.svc queue: .\private$\MyService.svc So I wonder, how can you host a service with multiple endpoints to different queues? For example a service that is listening to two queues… (using two endpoints).

Would I gain anything by splitting this into multiple tests? I'm all about doing things right, but I'm not going to split things up if it doesn't have practical value. I'm pretty new to unit testing, so be gentle.

As excepted the _db object gets disposed after the first call and because of the singleton behavior any other call of _db will crash.     I have single service contract that has 2 service operations. Let me call these operations as X1 and X2. How do I configure X1 to be accessible through HTTP and X2 to be accessible through TCP/IP. If I configure the service contract to be accessibel to TCP/IP end point then both X1 and X2 will be accessible through TCP/IP. Same is the case if I configure the same service contract with HTTP protocol. I could have two different service contracts for achieving what I want, but I want to know if I could achieve the same through a single service contract.

    I need a singleton in my code. I implemented it in Java and it works well. The reason I did it, is to ensure that in a mulitple environment, there is only one instance of this class. But now I want to test my Singleton object locally with a Unit test. For this reason I need to simulate another instance of this Singleton (the object that would be from another device). So is there a possiblity to instantiate a Singleton a second time for testing purpose or do I have to mock it? I'm not sure, but I think it could be possible by using a different class loader?

  • Junit test that creates other tests

    Normally I would have one junit test that shows up in my integration server of choice as one test that passes or fails (in this case I use teamcity). What I need for this specific test is the ability to loop through a directory structure testing that our data files can all be parsed without throwing an exception. Because we have 30,000+ files that that 1-5 seconds each to parse this test will be run in its own suite. The problem is that I need a way to have one piece of code run as one junit test per file so that if 12 files out of 30,000 files fail I can see which 12 failed not just that one failed, threw a runtimeexception and stopped the test. I realize that this is not a true "unit" test way of doing things but this simulation is very important to make sure that our content providers are kept in check and do not check in invalid files. Any suggestions?

    When you create a Silverlight Business Application you get a Silverlight application and a Web application. In the Web/Resources folder of the Silverlight app there are links to the files in the Resources folder of the Web app. These links are exactly like the files they link to in that they are heirarchical with the Resource.Designer.cs file shown as a code-behind file for the Resource.resx file When I try to link to a Resource file in this way I only get the .resx file unless I link to the .Designer.cs file separately. However in this case the Designer.cs file is then shown as a standard code file and not related to the .resx file. Does anyone know how to do this linking correctly?

    I have TestGen4Web script for automating testing on a web-based user interface that has a popup window (hey i didn't write that ui..). In order to write a complete test script that branches the flow based on the some presence of some content in the popup window, I need to write a simple if condition that does something like if document.getElementById("xyz").value - that will run on the popup window and not the parent window. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? currently, the condition fails because it runs on the parent window. Also, how to extract some text from the dom and spit it out to a file at the end of the test?

  • Creating WebService test harness

    Hello, I am trying to create a test harness for our QA staff to test our internal web services. I would like to create a web app that will allow them to enter a uri then submit. The web app will then interrogate the uri to get the appropriate parameters expected and returns with a generated input form. I know, this would be similar to SOAPUI and others. However, I feel it would be earier for them to be able to just use a form with entry fields and click a button to invoke the service and get the results back for display in the web app. In addition, I could create some custom logic that allows them to generate specific behavior they need. Has anybody done anything like this? I have searched and have found similar functionality but nothing close enough to help me. If you need more details please let me know.     My company has just migrated all the code for our website to 3 identical servers on an off-site location. Now it is our job to test them. However, the amount of websites/functionality that we have to test is exorbitant, and multiply that times 3! To check every single link and every single function is a daunting task. We are in the process of manually doing that right now. My question to you guys/girls is this... Is there a way to automate the testing so we don't have to waste our time clicking, waiting, and checking the response, times 3? ;-) Let me know if you need any other info. Thanks!

    I have one user who gets the following error when trying to login, "Silverlight client load operation failed for query "Login". [GenericParameterNotValid]". The odd thing is that other users are able to login without issue and I can login using the "problem" account from other machines. At this point I think it's got to be a client side configuration issue. My next step is to confirm the Client Side Silverlight Version, but I don't know where to go after that. Do you have any suggestions?

  • How to prevent unit test from using util from test project?

    I am using eclipse and I have two projects, project1 and project1-test. Below is the example layout of my projects: project1 -src --my.package ----MyClass.java --my.package.util ----util.java project1-test -src --my.package ----MyClassTest.java --my.package.util ----util.java MyClass.java makes a static call to the util.java in project1. MyClassTests.java is testing MyClass.java. When the test class runs, it fails and complains that MyClass.java is referencing a method in util.java that doesn't exist. Under project1, the method being referenced exists in util.java but under project1-test, the method doesn't. When I run MyClassTests.java, the util.java that is being referenced from MyClass.java is from project1-test when it should be project1. Is there some way to make MyClass.java not reference util.java from project1-test when running MyClassTest.java?
