• fatal error C1084: Cannot read type library file: 'Smegui.tlb': Error loading type library/DLL.

  Hi, I am trying to build an old version of an application which consists of VC++ projects that were written in Visual Studio 2003. My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit). When I try and build the solution I get the following errors: error C4772: #import referenced a type from a missing type library; '__missing_type__' used as a placeholder fatal error C1084: Cannot read type library file: 'Smegui.tlb': Error loading type library/DLL. They both complain about the following import statement: #import "Smegui.tlb" no_implementation This is not a case of the file path being incorrect as renaming the Smegui.tlb file causes the compiler to throw another error saying it cannot find the library. Smegui is from another application that this one depends on. I thought perhaps I was missing a dll but there is no such thing as Smegui.dll. All I know about .tlb files is that they are a type library and you can create them from an assembly using tlbexp.exe or regasm.exe (the later also registers the assembly with COM) There is also an Apache Ant build script which uses a custom task to invoke devenv.com to build the projects. This is the same script that the build server originally used to build the application. It gives me the same errors when I try and run it. The strangest thing about this is that I knew it ought to work seeing as it is all freshly checked out from subversion. I tried many different combinations of admin vs user elevation, VS vs Ant build, cleaning, release. I have got it to build successfully about 5 times but the build seems to be non-deterministic. If anyone can shed some light on how this tlb stuff even works or what this error might mean I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers, Steiny

  I was looking into google.com's Net activity in firebug just because I was curious and noticed a request was returning "204 No Content." It turns out that a 204 No Content "is primarily intended to allow input for actions to take place without causing a change to the user agent's active document view, although any new or updated metainformation SHOULD be applied to the document currently in the user agent's active view." Whatever. I've looked into the JS source code and saw that "generate_204" is requested like this: (new Image).src="http://clients1.google.com/generate_204" No variable declaration/assignment at all. My first idea is that it was being used to track if Javascript is enabled. But the "(new Image).src='...'" call is called from a dynamically loaded external JS file anyway, so that would be pointless. Anyone have any ideas as to what the point could be? UPDATE "/generate_204" appears to be available on many google services/servers (e.g., maps.google.com/generate_204, maps.gstatic.com/generate_204, etc...). You can take advantage of this by pre-fetching the generate_204 pages for each google-owned service your web app may use. • Set page size using WIA (with scanner)

  Hello, I'm using WIA to acquire images from a scanner with C#. I can scan the papers, but I can't set up the page size correctly, it always defaults to A4 and I need to use Letter or Legal sometimes. I tried with the WIA_DPS_PAGE_SIZE property, but when I try to set a value, I always get an error, that the value is out of the interval (tried a lot of possible values). I wan't to be able to use WIA_DPS_PAGE_SIZE = WIA_PAGE_AUTO (for automatic page size), but I can't find anything on the web related to this. Does anyone know a solution? thanks!

Everthing works fine for me up until the DataContractJsonSerializer.ReadObject method. I am getting the following exception: Expecting element 'root' from namespace ''.. • Android Webview Anchor Link (Jump link) not working

  Hi, I have a WebView in my Android App that is loading an HTML string using the loadDataWithBaseURL() method. The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor. This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work. Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView? I am using API v4 (1.6).

• Openlayers - Redraw() layer. Add / Remove layer.

  TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? Thanks in advance -Ozaki Add: I managed to get map.layers[2].redraw(true); to sucessfully redraw layer 2. But it still does not update the rotation. I am thinking because the stylemap is updating. But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug.

I'm developing a Java application, and one of the things it needs to do is encode a byte array of data into a QR Code and then decode it at a later time. What's the cause of this error and what can I do about it?

As 32-bit xp don't have RegGetValue function so I am trying to make use of RegQueryValueEX but I am having problem in passing arguments to this function. I think it should be used some thing like: uFuncReturnValue = RegQueryValueExA ( hRegistry, "\\DosDevices\\J:", NULL, NULL, (LPBYTE) &structVal, &dwSize ); But something is wrong here because the code compiles successfully but when I execute it I get a message: The program '(128) myProgram.exe: Native' has exited with code 1 (0x1). Can someone help me here please?

• Displaying wait cursor in while backgroundworker is running

  During the start of my windows application, I have to make a call to a web service to retrieve some default data to load onto my application. During the load of the form, I run a backgroundworker to retrieve this data. I want to display the wait cursor until this data is retrieved. How would I do this? I've tried setting the wait cursor before calling the backgroundworker to run. When I report a progress of 100 then I set it back to the default cursor. The wait cursor comes up but when I move the mouse it disappears. Environment: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit VS2010 C# .NET 4.0 Windows Forms EDIT: I am setting the cursor the way Jay Riggs suggested. It only works if I don't move the mouse. **UPDATE: I have created a button click which does the following: When I do the button click and move my mouse, the wait cursor appears regardless if I move my mouse or not. void BtnClick() { Cursor = Cursors.WaitCursor; Thread.Sleep(8000); Cursor = Cursors.Default; } If I do the following: I see the wait cursor and when I move the mouse it disappears inside the form. • Server 2008 Task Scheduler Mapped Drive Access C#

  I'm trying do get Server 2008's Task Scheduler to run a C# console app which backs up data to a mapped backup drive somewhere on FastHosts network. I've written a test app which simply does this Directory.CreateDirectory("Z:\" + DateTime.Now.Ticks.ToString()); i.e. just creates a directory on the root of this Z drive. This works fine when I just run the .exe but when I schedule it in Task Scheduler it says the task has completed with return code 3762507597 - I can't find any info on what this means. I'm running the task with the highest Admin privelages as far as I can see.

  I implemented a WPF load-on-demand treeview like described in this (very good) article. In the mentioned solution a dummy element is used to preserve the expand + icon / treeview item behavior. The dummy item is replaced with real data, when the user clicks on the expander. I want to refine the model by adding a property public bool HasChildren { get { ... } } to my backing TreeNodeViewModel. Question: How can I bind this property to hide/show the expand icon (in XAML)? I am not able to find a suitable trigger/setter combination. (INotifyPropertyChanged is properly implemented.) Thanks for your time. Update 1: I want to use my property public bool HasChildren instead of using the dummy element. Determining whether or not an item has children is somewhat costly, but still much cheaper than fetching the children.

  I'm using @JsonTypeInfo to instruct Jackson to look in the @class property for concrete type information. However, sometimes I don't want to have to specify @class, particularly when the subtype can be inferred given the context. What's the best way to do that?   I've pasted the example from php.net for using memcached in php and I'm getting: Fatal error: Class 'Memcache' not found I have this in my php.ini: [memcache] memcache.hash_strategy = "consistent" memcache.max_failover_attemps = 100 memcache.allow_failover = 1 Here's info from php -i and php -m respectively: php -i | grep -i memcache memcached memcached support = enabled libmemcached version = 0.37 Registered save handlers = files user sqlite memcached php -m | grep -i memcache memcached So php seems to have loaded memcached as a module, and php info says that it is loaded and is using v .37. I have not tried yet via apache, I've only been using this through cli right now. Any thoughts?

• Autofac Unit Testing using RegisterControllers()

  I am having problems using Autofac 2.1.13 and writing my unit tests for my ASP.NET MV2 application. I can't seem to resolve controllers when using the RegisterControllers method. I have tried using the Resolve<() and ControllerBuilder.Current.GetControllerFactory().CreateController() methods but to no avail. I am sure that I've missed something simple here so can anyone assist? This was my first attempt at resolving the HomeController - but does not work. ContainerBuilder builder = new ContainerBuilder(); builder.RegisterControllers(typeof(HomeController).Assembly); IContainer container = builder.Build(); // Throws a Throws a A first chance exception of type 'Autofac.Core.Registration.ComponentNotRegisteredException' occurred in Autofac.dll var homeController = container.Resolve<HomeController>(); Similarly this does not work either.   Hi, I'm using iTextsharp library to create PDF files. I can declare for A4 Landscape paper like this: Dim pdfTable As New PdfPTable(9) pdfTable.WidthPercentage = 100 Dim pdfDoc As New Document(PageSize.A4.Rotate()) I'm wondering how I can set Height of pdfTable or A4 Height manually. Because there's a lot more margin left at the bottom, and I need to put some text at that margin. Right now, I put a line of text at the bottom, the line's got pushed to the new page. Q1: How can I override the height of A4 paper provied by iTextsharp? Q2: How can I create a custom size paper, say Width = 29cm, Height = 22cm? Thank you.

  I am using Naudio lib to write a simple win form audio recorder/player. My problem is how can I tell the playback is completed? I need to close the wave stream after that. I knew there is a PlaybackStopped event listed below: wfr = new NAudio.Wave.WaveFileReader(this.outputFilename); audioOutput = new DirectSoundOut(); WaveChannel32 wc = new NAudio.Wave.WaveChannel32(wfr); audioOutput.Init(wc); audioOutput.PlaybackStopped += new EventHandler<StoppedEventArgs>(audioOutput_PlaybackStopped); audioOutput.Play(); But this PlaybackStopped event seems can only be triggered by calling audioOutput.stop(), do anyone know how to determine if playback is complected?
