  The web browser has the following displayed content, within a html table. [Element] [Value] Name John Smith Email [email protected] We know that the value of the elements are on to the right of the element and they are both on the same line (this is how it appears on the screen but in the html code it might not appear like this). How do you get the values of element name and element email? (first remove all html tag? then somehow use regular express to get the values? or figure out how to use html agility pack?)

• How to give INSTALLDIR folder permission in WIX?

  I am designing a WIX 3.6 installer project, during the installation we need to grand the user create file permission to the install folder(INSTALLDIR, especially with the default install folder, the Program Files, the user normally can't create file in the installation. We've experienced some failures). I guess it can be achieved by setting a Permission element, with CreateFile property. However, the INSTALLDIR is a directory, and only such elements as CreateFolder, File, FileShare, Registry, ServiceInstall can have permission element. So could anyone tell me how to do that? • Webrat says it can't find some text, but the text is actually there

  I have a webpage that has a form button on it called "delete", and a cuke scenario that has the line: And I should see "delete" When I run the scenario, I get this error: expected the following element's content to include "delete" ...and it dumps the webrat page to stdout and the "delete" is, in fact, not there. So far so good. However, when I tell webrat to show me the page before the error happens: Then show me the page And I should see "delete" ...Safari fires up and shows me the page, and in Safari there's the "delete" button, totally there. Why is webrat not finding the form button? I've also had this same problem with form fields, such as text inputs that have a value in them when the page loads, but webrat says there's nothing there. Looking at it in Safari shows, again, that the field does have the right text in it. Is this a bug, or is webrat just not suitable for checking form elements? Is there a different way to do this? • Flow diagram in html/css

  Hi, is there some good way to create a flow / swimline diagram without resorting to scripting or tables? I'm talking about showing different hosts sending packets (so hosts on the X axis, time on the Y and arrows to the destination host). It seems like too much elements for tables (especially the arrows spanning multiple columns either way), but on the other hand, divs would be hard to position in the right place horizontally (they'd have to be basically aligned to a specified "column"). Is there any good way out? Any helper frameworks? (I don't want to do canvas stuff unless really needed)

But when I give input like equal([1,2,3],X)., it doesn't show all possible values of X. instead the program hangs in the middle. What could be the reason?

  I have a site which relies heavily on javaScript. I created a mirror site, which has all the JS as well as all the elements that require JS removed. What is a good, easy way to redirect users to the mirror site if they don't have javaScript enabled? • Hex colors: Numeric representation for "transparent"?

  I am building a web CMS in which the user can choose colours for certain site elements. I would like to convert all colour values to hex to avoid any further formatting hassle ("rgb(x,y,z)" or named colours). I have found a good JS library for that. The only thing that I can't get into hex is "transparent". I need this when explicitly declaring an element as transparent, which in my experience can be different from not defining any value at all. Does anybody know whether this can be turned into some numeric form? Will I have to set up all processing instances to accept hex values or "transparent"? I can't think of any other way.

• Math problem: Determine the corner radius of an inner border based on outer corner radius/thickness

  Here's a math/geometry problem for the math whizzes (not my strongest subject). This is for WPF, but should be general enough to solve regardless: I have two embedded Border elements, with the outer one having a certain corner radius, R and border thickness, T. Given these two values, what should the corner radius of the inner Border, R' be set to such that the two corner edges meet with no overlap or holes? So far I've just been eyeballing it, but if someone can give me a proper formula that would be great. Respect points if you can!! ;)

• Qt: Background color on QStandardItem using StyleSheet

  Hi I have a class that inherits QStandardItem and I put the elements in a QTreeWidget. The class receive notifications from the outside and I want to change the background color of the item based on what happened. If I do not use stylesheets it works just fine, like this: void myClass::onExternalEvent() { setBackground(0, QColor(255,0,0))); } However as soon as I put a stylesheet on the QTreeWidget this has no effect, the stylesheet seems to override the setBackground call. So I tried : void myClass::onExternalEvent() { this-setStyleSheet("background-color: red"); } but this is probably all wrong, it changed the color of some other element on my screen, not sure why. So anyone have an idea on how I can alter the background color like with setBackgroundColor but still be able to use stylesheet on my QTreeWidget?

• Inform Activity from a BroadcastReceiver ONLY if it is in the foreground

  Hi there! Maybe it's easy, but I couldn't really figure this out right so far... I got a BroadcastReceiver waiting to get triggered by the AlarmMangager - this works fine. Now: because the event, if it occurs, needs to refresh some elements on screen of the main Activity, I would like to send an Intent from that background BroadcastReceiver to my Activity - but only if it is currently in the foreground, aka active. If it is not running or not visible, I don't care - and the last thing I want to do is start the Activity by my intent! I handle repainting of the views in my onResume method, so I don't care at all. Any hints on how to do that? Thanks! EDIT: my BroadcastReceiver is waiting for alarms that must be notified to the user. So, it must be there and declared in the manifest. The problem is: it will have to decide whether the mentioned Activity is currently up in front or not.

In my XAML file, I have a ListBox declared like this : <ListBox x:Name="lstDeck" Height="280" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Deck}" > <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ListBoxItem Content="{Binding}" /> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> In my view model, Deck is an ObservableCollection, so that binding directly displays the content of my collection. But when I have several value that hold the same value (for example "10" six times), the selection in the ListBox has a weird behaviour : it select 2-3 elements instead of the only the one on which I clicked. Moreover, when I click to another listBoxItem, it doesn't unfocus the previous selected one. Then it is impossible to see which item is actually selected, and impossible to get the SelectedIndex value. Has someone an idea?

  Hi, I get an IEnumerable which I know is a object array. I also know the datatype of the elements. Now I need to cast this to an IEnumerable<T, where T is a supplied type. For instance IEnumerable results = GetUsers(); IEnumerable<T> users = ConvertToTypedIEnumerable(results, typeof(User)); I now want to cast/ convert this to IEnumerable<User. Also, I want to be able to do this for any type. I cannot use IEnumerable.Cast<, because for that I have to know the type to cast it to at compile time, which I don't have. How can I set the primary key of a table when the table is made up of an object type? e.g. CREATE TABLE object_names OF object_type I have created a Varray type, CREATE TYPE MULTI_TAG AS VARRAY(10) OF VARCHAR(10); but when I try to do SELECT p.tags.count FROM pg_photos p; I get an invalid identifier error on the "count" part. p.tags is a MULTI_TAG, how can I get the number of elements in the MULTI_TAG?

• What's viewport mean to the jQuery guys?

  I came here intent on asking a 'how do i' type question focused on a particular UI problem i have to solve and i started using the term 'viewport'. Seems there's lots of contexts that tag evokes. Before i outline mine i should ask - is there a generally recognized consensus as to what a 'viewport' is? Any gallery or object browser that focuses on a UI principle where multiple frames/panes show feeds of different graphs where each feed might be a complex grid/graph? I'm imagining something where my page may open with a half dozen different grids (tabular data) stay updated via ajax interactions with various servers. UI elements provide control scale up or down a given grid with a quasi accordion slide kinda thingie. For example, one click on a scale up-or-down control would rescale the other viewports in the opposite direction. More clicks - more pronounced effect. So my 'how do i' question morphs into a 'how have others...' thx

• (C#) iterate over read-only private collection member

  I have a class which has two HashSet collections as private members. Other classes in my code would like to be able to iterate over those HashSets and read their contents. I don't want to write a standard getter because another class could still do something like myClass.getHashSet().Clear(); Is there any other way to expose the elements of my HashSets to iteration without exposing the reference to the HashSet itself? I'd love to be able to do this in a way that is compatible with for-each loops.

  I have a various data.frames with columns of the same length where I am trying to multiple 2 rows together element-wise and then sum this up. What I would like to do is skip the multiplication with any missing values ( the 10th and 11th position from my above example), and then after the addition divide by the number of elements that were multiplied (11 from the above example). Most rows are complete and would just be multiplied by 13. Thank you!

  When creating functions that use strsplit, vector inputs do not behave as desired, and sapply needs to be used. This is due to the list output that strsplit produces. Is there a way to vectorize the process - that is, the function produces the correct element in the list for each of the elements of the input? For example, to count the lengths of words in a character vector: words <- c("a","quick","brown","fox") > length(strsplit(words,"")) [1] 4 # The number of words (length of the list) > length(strsplit(words,"")[[1]]) [1] 1 # The length of the first word only > sapply(words,function (x) length(strsplit(x,"")[[1]])) a quick brown fox 1 5 5 3 # Success, but potentially very slow Ideally, something like length(strsplit(words,"")[[.]]) where . is interpreted as the being the relevant part of the input vector.

  Working with Unity, I thought it would be a good idea to create some LiveTemplates to help out with creating configuration entries. For example, I want to create some typeAlias elements in a file called "unity.config": <typeAlias alias="QueryService" type="type,QueryAssembly"/> So, I created a live template: Shortcut: typeAlias Available "in all files" <typeAlias alias="$ALIAS$" type="$TYPE$,$ASSEMBLY$"/> the unity.config file is an XML file. I put the cursor in an empty spot and type "typeAlias" and then the tab key. Nothing happens. Any ideas?
