How to hold three different text alignments in one CSS Box ?

Good day, I've got a simple CSS question. I'm trying to change a table into a CSS box, but aligning the table content is difficult to me right now. Below there's an example of what's inside of the css box i created. How can I align these three elements (calendar and icon to the left , a text link to the center, and the other date field to the right ?) correctly ? I've tried several things but the problem is getting it aligned properly. I want to change everything in this application that has been created with tables, to css. And I've been an 80% succesful so far. I'd like to see some easy to understand code, to see how I can apply it on my code. Thank you for your kind help. I might be burned out due to stress. Best strategy for HTML partial rendering based on multiple dropdown values

I have a View that renders something like this: "Item 1" and "Item 2" are <tr> elements from a table. After the user change "Value 1" or "Value 2" I would like to call a Controller and put the result (some HTML snippet) in the div marked as "Result of...". I have some vague notions of JQuery. I know how to bind to the onchange event of the Select element, and call the $.ajax() function, for example. But I wonder if this can be achieved in a more efficient way in ASP.NET MVC2.

Racket: change dotted pair to list

I have a program that recursively calls a hashtable and prints out data from it. Unfortunately my hashtable seems to be saving data as dotted pairs so when I call the hashtable I get an error saying that there is no data for it because its tryign to search the hashtable for a dotted pair instead of a list. Is there an easy way to make the dotted pair into a regular list? IE im getting '("was" . "beginning") instead of '("was" "beginning") Is there a way to change this without re-writing how my hashtable store stuff? im using the let function to set a variable to this and then calling another function based on this variable (let ((data ( list-ref(hash-ref Ngram-table key) (random (length (hash-ref Ngram-table key)))))) is there a way to make the value stored in data just a list like this '("var1" "var2") instead of a dotted pair? edit: im getting dotted pairs because im using let to set data to the part of the hashtable's key and one of the elements in that hash.

Rebinding jQuery qtip tooltip on images in bxcarousel

I'm using bxcarousel to show a bunch of images. Each image has a tooltip, which I display using qtip. I'm building up my site over at http://royronalds.com, and I'm trying to figure out what order of elements in the <head> makes most sense. Just to take from what I current have, I have: <head> <style> external stylesheet <meta> <title> <link> to favicon <script> for jQuery <script> main javascript for site <script> google analytics, asynchronous script. </head> Are there reasons to order these differently so that load times and other issues happen more smoothly, and if so, what would the ideal order be?

How to set a control ID in ListView Template dynamically?

A have a ListView that is rendered with multiple items. Now I want to toggle some HTML attributes with JQuery. Therefore it would be best to have access to these elements via an unique ID. But trying to create a "dynamic" and therefore unique ID by <tr runat="server" ID='<%# this.GetUniqueID() %>'> </tr> results in an error that tells me that the ID needs to be simple and cannot be set by a call to a method. I know that I can dynamically create controls in the code-behind and set the ID there. But in this case, I'd rather like to let the content be rendered by the ListView itself. That brings me to the conclusion that the idea of setting a dynically ID in the Template is totally wrong. How can I achieve the desired behaviour?

I have an XML document which looks something like this: <meadinkent> <record> <comp_div>MENSWEAR</comp_div> <sty_ret_type>ACCESSORIES</sty_ret_type> <sty_pdt_type>BELTS</sty_pdt_type> <pdt_category>AWESOME_BELTS</pdt_category> </record> <medinkent> I want to useXPath to select nodes which match all four elements and I'm having trouble getting the boolean syntax right. I'm trying this to match the first two just as a test: "/meadinkent/record/comp_div[.='" & comp_div & "'] and /meadinkent/record/sty_ret_type[.='" & sty_ret_type & "']" Which is failing, saying no nodes are returned. Hi, I have a list (tmpList), which looks like this: $op [1] "empty" $termset $termset$field [1] "entry" $termset[[2]] $termset[[2]]$explode [1] "Y" This is a list with a list inside. If I add this list to a vector theOneVector = c(theOneVector, tmpList) Now the resulting vector is of the length 2, because the first entry ("op") of the list is separated from the tmpList. Is it possible to append the complete tmpList into this vector? I already tried it with theOneVector = c(theOneVector, list(tmpList)) which gives a vector with the length of 1, but it is very cumbersome to access the elements of the list with this extra list around the list. (Too much list in one sentence I think.) Any help would be appreciated, Martin

Inheritance of Custom Attributes on Abstract Properties

I've got a custom attribute that I want to apply to my base abstract class so that I can skip elements that don't need to be viewed by the user when displaying the item in HTML. It seems that the properties overriding the base class are not inheriting the attributes. Does overriding base properties (abstract or virtual) blow away attributes placed on the original property? Should I Prefer a Closed or Open List<> System?

Hey guys, I've got a class in my project that stores a List< of elements. I'm trying to figure out whether I should allow the user to add to that List directly (e.g. Calling the native add/remove methods) or lock it down by declaring the List private and only allowing a handful of methods I choose to actually alter the List. It's a framework, so I'm trying to design it as robustly as possible, but I also want to keep it as simple and error-free as possible. What's the best practice in this situation? Thanks, Tyler

How does Linq-to-Xml convert objects to strings?

Linq-to-Xml contains lots of methods that allow you to add arbitrary objects to an xml tree. These objects are converted to strings by some means, but I can't seem to find the specification of how this occurs. The conversion I'm referring to is mentioned (but not specified) in MSDN. I happen to need this for javascript interop, but that doesn't much matter to the question. Linq to Xml isn't just calling .ToString(). Firstly, it'll accept null elements, and secondly, it's doing things no .ToString() implementation does: For example: new XElement("elem",true).ToString() == "<elem>true</elem>" //but... true.ToString() == "True" //IIRC, this is culture invariant, but in any case... true.ToString(CultureInfo.InvariantCulture) == "True" Other basic data types are similarly specially treated. So, does anybody know what it's doing and where that's described?

XmlSchemaElement type

Hi, I'm generating WSDL of my web service dynamically, but when I set the XmlSchemaType of my elements, the ServiceDescriptor writes the element as an element rather than message, as I need. dojo parser not escaping quotation marks in attributes?

Whenever I'm using quotation marks inside an attribute value in dojo, it seems dojo's parser isn't handling it very well... <textarea name="content.locale['en']" dojoType="dijit.form.SimpleTextarea"> </textarea> Turns into: <textarea ]="" en="" name="content.locale["></textarea> With the surrounding <div>s and what not is added by the dijit widget. Any ideas? EDIT Seems this is working as it should with other elements, it's just the SimpleTextarea that's causing a problem..

Using LabVIEW 2009, I have a VI that outputs an array of U64 integers. I'd like the user to be able to perform discrete selection from among the elements of this array. I'm thinking of accomplishing this by programmatically populating a Menu Ring (as shown at http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/FB0409491FAB16FA86256D08004FCE7E). However, I apparently need to convert my array of U64 ints to an array of strings, as it is an array of strings that is used to populate the Menu Ring. My question: how can I convert the array of U64 ints to an array of strings?

Jface's CheckboxTreeViewer how to set initial selection

Hello. This question may sounds trivial, but i am struggling with the issue, so, please help if u can. So, here it is : i am using a CheckboxTreeViewer for some good reasons. I've google-it for some class usages, and i am currently able to check/uncheck all the childrens of a selected node, and to preserve the selection after a live search with a custom implementation of the StyledCellLabelProvider provider. All good so far. However, so far i am unable to programatically select one or more elements of the tree viewer after i display the widget and call the setInput() method of the viewer. So, let's assume for instance that the tree will have 10 main nodes, and 5 leafs on node 6. My question is how do i set the checked state of the 3rd leaf? Thank u.

Unexpected JAXB error

Hello, From the documentation it's clear I need to use the following to get a simple unmarshalling to occur from my XML file/schema: JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("PackageName"); where PackageName is my package name. I've looked on google for a bit to no avail, to find out why I'm then getting this runtime error: Line:Col[2:142]:cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'myconfig'. Line:Col[2:142]:unexpected element (uri:"http://www.w3.org", local:"myconfig"). Expected elements are <{}myconfig> Caught UnmarshalException This occurs at the top of all my class files, including the ones the XJC plugin for eclipse created for me (which I then moved out of PackageName.PackageName which it automatically created): package PackageName; so why is this error occurring?

I've noticed that my GLSL shaders are not compilable when the GLSL version is lower than 130. What are the most critical elements for having a backward compatible shader source? I don't want to have a full backward compatibility, but I'd like to understand the main guidelines for having simple (forward compatible) shaders running on GPU with GLSL lower than 130. Of course the problem could be solved with the preprocessor #if __VERSION__ < 130 #define VERTEX_IN attribute #else #define VERTER_IN in #endif But there probably many issues that I ignore. jQuery ::: Does remove really remove?

I'm trying to remove a table row using jQuery, and while it disappears from the screen, and therefore, appears to work, in Firebug, I can still see the code for it. There are form elements in this row, and so, I want to understand whether the row is truly being deleted or not, because I wouldn't want those values submitted. So, does remove really remove? RubyQt Crashing on QTableWidget

I'm getting some weirdness with QtRuby when using a TableWidget. Am I doing something wrong over here, or can I chalk this up as a bug in QtRuby? I'm on fedora11, with the following packages installed: QtRuby-4.4.0-1.fc11.i586 ruby-1.8.6.369-1.fc11.i586 These crashes also happen when running the script on Windows.

CSS selector for grouped iterations

Hi, I have a number of elements that i want to loop through as groups. Consider this HTML: <input class="matching match-1" /> <input class="matching match-1" /> <input class="matching match-2" /> <input class="matching match-2" /> <input class="matching match-2" /> <input class="matching match-3" /> <input class="matching match-3" /> // etc I want a CSS selector that would allow me to loop through these as groups so there would be - using this example - 3 iterations of the loop (one for match-1, one for match-2 and one for match-3). The 1,2,3 etc is a variable used for grouping but this is not fixed so it cannot rely on hard coding of these values. Is this even possible? I'll be using jQuery or prototype not that that should matter really. Thanks

Idiomatic way to do list/dict in Cython?

My problem: I've found that processing large data sets with raw C++ using the STL map and vector can often be considerably faster (and with lower memory footprint) than using Cython. I figure that part of this speed penalty is due to using Python lists and dicts, and that there might be some tricks to use less encumbered data structures in Cython. For example, this page (http://wiki.cython.org/tutorials/numpy) shows how to make numpy arrays very fast in Cython by predefining the size and types of the ND array. Question: Is there any way to do something similar with lists/dicts, e.g. by stating roughly how many elements or (key,value) pairs you expect to have in them? That is, is there an idiomatic way to convert lists/dicts to (fast) data structures in Cython? If not I guess I'll just have to write it in C++ and wrap in a Cython import.

I'd like to convert a list of record arrays -- dtype is (uint32, float32) -- into a numpy array of dtype np.object: X = np.array(instances, dtype = np.object) where instances is a list of arrays with data type np.dtype([('f0', '<u4'), ('f1', '<f4')]). However, the above statement results in an array whose elements are also of type np.object: X[0] array([(67111L, 1.0), (104242L, 1.0)], dtype=object) Does anybody know why? Each binary file should contain the dimensionality of the given matrix. def saveArrayToFile(data, fileName): with open(fileName, 'w') as file: a = array.array('f') nSamples, ndim = data.shape a.extend([nSamples, ndim]) # write number of elements and dimensions a.fromstring(data.tostring()) a.tofile(file) def readArrayFromFile(fileName): _featDesc = np.fromfile(fileName, 'f') _ndesc = int(_featDesc[0]) _ndim = int(_featDesc[1]) _featDesc = _featDesc[2:] _featDesc = _featDesc.reshape([_ndesc, _ndim]) return _featDesc, _ndesc, _ndim An example on how to use the functions is: myarr=np.array([[7, 4],[3, 9],[1, 3]]) saveArrayToFile(myarr,'myfile.txt') _featDesc, _ndesc, _ndim = readArrayFromFile('myfile.txt') However, an error message of 'ValueError: total size of new array must be unchanged' is shown. My arrays can be of size MxN and MxM. Any suggestions are more than welcomed. I think the problem might be in the saveArrayToFile function. Best wishes, Javier

Hy there, I'm trying to adapt an existing code to boost::variant. The idea is to use boost::variant for a heterogeneous vector. The problem is that the rest of the code use iterators to access the elements of the vector. Is there a way to use the boost::variant with iterators? I've tried typedef boost::variant<Foo, Bar> Variant; std::vector<Variant> bag; std::vector<Variant>::iterator it; for(it= bag.begin(); it != bag.end(); ++it){ cout<<(*it)<<endl; } But it didn't work.
