• Is it worth using std::tr1 in production?

  I'm using MS VC 2008 and for some projects Intel C++ compiler 11.0. Is it worth using tr1 features in production? Will they stay in new standard? For example, now I use stdext::hash_map. TR1 defines std::tr1::unordered_map. But in MS implementation unordered_map is just theirs stdext::hash_map, templatized in another way.

  Hi I have a MS SQL database running (MS SQL 2005) and am connecting to it via the net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver. The query works fine for all the columns except one that is a varchar(max). Any ideas how to get around this issues? I am using the jdbc driver to run a data index into a SOLR implementation. (I do not control the database, so the first prize solution would be where I can tweak the SQL command to get the desired results) Thanks

• Click-Once install location from within application

  I'd like to programatically determine the "publish location" (the location on the server which contains the installation) of the click-once application I'm running. I know that the appref-ms file contains this information and I could parse this file to find it but the application has no idea as to the location of the appref-ms file and I can't seem to find a way of determining this location. Does anyone have any ideas how I can easily determine the publish location from within my application?

  i have a problem about phpexcel and joomla. I'm developing some filter form to load excel reports, so i used phpexcel library to do this. Right now i have only a report, it works fine, but after that i upload inside joomla using PHP pages component that allows me to put php files inside joomla and call it. When i put them, i change a little bit the form that calls the php that generates the excel report, i call the php using a link like this: h**p://www.whiblix.com/index.php?option=com_php&Itemid=24 That is, calling it from Joomla, not directly the php. If i wanna call the php directly i could use this path: h**p://www.whiblix.com/components/com_php/files/repImportaciones.php What's the problem? The problem is, when i call the php that generates the excel through joomla, the excel that is downloaded is corrupt and only shows symbols in one cell when i open it. But if i call the php directly the report is generated fine. I could call the php directly, the problem is that if i call it directly i can't use this line of code: defined( '_JEXEC' ) or die( 'Restricted access' ); That is used to deny the direct access to php from call it directly, because it doesn' work because the security. Where's the problem? • MooTools: Fade out element?

Instead, I'd like to fade out the opacity of the entire Element (and its children) to 100% (hidden) as a transition effect over maybe 500 ms or 1000 ms. Can Fx.Tween be used for this?   We are in the process of switching from the C# Guid.NewGuid() random-ish guid generator to the sequential guid algorithm suggested in this post. While this seems to work well for MS SQL Server, I am unsure about the implications for Oracle databases, in which we store guids in a raw(16) field. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this algorithm would be good for creating sequential guids for Oracle as well as for MS SQL Server, or if a different variant should be used. Thanks!

Nevertheless I also tried to add the following flags to notificationIntent Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP | PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT but the problem remains the same.

  I'd like my application to query a csv file from a secure website. I have no experience with web programming so I'd appreciate detailed instructions. Currently I have the user login to the site, manually query the csv, and have my application load the file locally. I'd like to automate this by having the user enter his login information, authenticating him on the website, and querying the data. The application is written in C# .NET. I've tested the following code already and am able to access the file once the user has already authenticated himself and created a manual query.
