  • How do you set the default source for the Output window in Visual Studio?

    We added a SharePoint BDC model project to a solution in Visual Studio 2010. Ever since, whenever the solution is built, instead of showing the Build output in the Output window, it insists on having "SharePoint Tools" selected in the "Show Output from:" drop-down, just to say "Model validation started ... Model validation completed with no errors." Short of shutting off any SharePoint projects in the build configuration, can this behavior be overridden?

    I have visual studio 2008 installed in my pc when i try to open a .Net 2005 Solution with multi-projects, there are project in vb and c#. The only web project on this solution display the following message: .vbproj the project is not supported by this installation I try to open the web project separately from the solution and I not have problem. How I can open the web project from the solution. Any ideas?

  • PostgreSQL + Rails citext

    I am trying to move to heroku which uses PostgreSQL 8.4 which has a citext column type which is nice since the app was written for MySQL. Is there any way to use :citext with rails (so that if the migrations are run on MySQL the citext would just use string/text?   • virtualenvwrapper .hook problem

    I've used virtualenvwrapper, but I'm having problems running it on a new computer. My .bashrc file is updated per the instructions: export WORKON_HOME=$DEV_HOME/projects source /usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh But when source is run, I get the following: bash: /25009.hook: Permission denied bash: /25009.hook: No such file or directory This previous post leads me to believe the filename is being recycled and locked because virtualenvwrapper.sh uses $$. Is there any way to fix this?

  • Backup of folder + database - Python

    Hi there, I feel like this is quite delicate, I have various folders whith projects I would like to backup into a zip/tar file, but would like to avoid backing up files such as pyc files and temporary files. I also have a Postgres db I need to backup. Any tips for running this operation as a python script? Also, would there be anyway to stop the process from hogging resources in the process? Help would be very much appreciated.

  • How can I progrommatically change the target framework from 4.0 to 3.5 of a project/solution?

    Edit 3: After more googling it looks like you can't have the TargetFrameworkMoniker property in a .NET 3.5 application. So I guess I should be asking a different question. How do I change the Target framework from 4.0 to 3.5? Unfortunately, I can only find stuff on how to go the other way. or better yet how do i progrommatically set the target framework version of a project to something other than 4.0? Original question: I just switched to vs2010. I have an application that uses .net 3.5. It loads plugins which are generated by a different app. The plugins are using .net 4 and there for cannot be loaded. I'm using EnvDTE.Project to create a project and set the settings. I can't find what setting needs to be set for this. Edit 1: I'm generating code for about 50 solutions. When I made the switch from vs2005 to vs2010 the projects in those solutions are defaulting to .NET Framework 4.0. So I need to set the .NET Framework to 3.5 when I am generating the code for these solutions. Edit 2: After a lot of googling I found this. so then I tried this: loProp = vsGetProperty("TargetFrameworkMoniker"); vsSetValue(loProp, ".NETFramework,Version=v3.5"); the definitions for those two methods are below. as far as I can tell they do the same this as project.Properties.Item("TargetFrameworkMoniker").Value = ".NETFramework,Version=v4.0,Profile=Client"; I start getting an Property Unavailable Exception later in the code. When I remove the new lines everything works except the projects target framework is still 4.0.     I'm looking for some examples of tree structures that are used in commercial/free software projects, modern or old. I can see examples on wikipedia, but I am looking for more concrete examples and how they're used. For example primary keys in databases are (from what I've read) stored in BST structure or a variation of the BST (feel free to correct me on this) My question isn't limited Binary Search Trees (BSTs), it can include any variation such as red-black, AVL and so on.

  • Same project...multiple apps?

    We have a an iPhone app project that we wish to deploy multiple times under different client names. The individual apps will be very similar but will have different resources (icon, images etc) and config settings stored in plists (server names, options etc). What is the preferred means to manage this in Xcode? Obviously we really don't want different XCode projects for each App deployment since it's 90% shared code.

When deploying I noticed that the ~/App_GlobalResources directory is not copied to the release folder on build anymore. How can I make sure the App_GlobalResources directory is copied along?

  • Is there an easy way to get the ServerName in Symfony?

    I have been searching for an easy way to get the ServerName of the machine where Symfony runs in Symfony (so that my app adapts when it is used on a host with a different ServerName), but I couldn't find one. I created a variable in app.yml and I fetch it, but I still wonder if there is no easier way to do this. How are you doing this? I'm using Symfony 1.2 and 1.4 on different projects.

    So here's my scenario: I have two projects projectA and projectB. A branchspec auto-integrates projectA to projectB. Now, I have a changelist which modifies some files in projectA -- I have not committed/submitted this changelist yet. I'd like this changelist to go into projectB only. Doing a p4 integrate -b branchspec -c changelistNumber shows "All revision(s) are integrated." How can I integrate an uncommitted changelist?

I referenced Nunit, and changed the Namespace to the same namespace used in the main project. I can't seem to figure out how to get access to all the classes, files, etc in the main project.     I recently played with MongoDB in Rails using Mongoid. I like the ability to define attributes for models within the model file (as opposed to in migrations): class Person include Mongoid::Document field :name, :type => String field :birthday, :type => Date end For projects that cannot use a schema-less database, does a similar feature exist? Any gems or plugins that generate schemas from a similar syntax would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
