  • Why call-by-value evaluation strategy is not Turing complete?

    I'm reading an article about different evaluation strategies (I linked article in wiki, but I'm reading another one not in English). And it says that unlike to call-by-name and call-by-need strategies, call-by-value strategy is not Turing complete. Can anybody explain, please, why is it so? If it's possible, add an example pls.

    what is the right way to setup VisualStuio 2010 for working with *.cl files? I have added *.cl under Tool/Text editor/File extensions and copied usertype.dat into the common7/ide folder, but VS underlines keywords like float4 or cross. Is it necessary to add some key in registry or can somebody propose a tutorial? Thanks in advance. PS i have already asked similar question old one question, but now i am looking explicit for a solution with vs2010. It is not bad, but really nerves and deflects me from programming tasks.

  • replay in django + apcahce + mod_wsgi ??

    I have a simple django page that has a counter on it. I use Apache2 and mod_wsgi to serve it. First, when I enter this page, the counter shows 0, as it should. The second time when I enter the page the counter shows 1 - again, it is the right behavior. The problem begins now, cause when I enter this page the third time, I get 0 again. When I refresh it goes between 0, and 1, clearly using some cache or so. If I wait for some time and then try again, it will show 2, and 3, but will be stuck with those values, till this cache or whatever it is will be flushed, and then the counter continues. Does somebody knows how I can get it work right (the real scenario deals with getting data from the DB, but the problems with this strange cache are the same). BTW, I don't have any caching engine set in my django settings.

  • Mootools event leak

    The example to demonstrate the issue can be found here: link text The test shows a basic Mootools class that contains an element variable with a click event attached. There’s also a “cleanup” function to remove the event and nullify the element variable. My problem is that when I loop a thousand times to create the “LeakClass” instance and clean it up, it causes a major memory leak like there’s no tomorrow. I tested this on IE8 and Chrome. On the other hand what I’ve noticed is that if I comment out the line that adds the “click” event, the code doesn’t leak. Can somebody please help me structure the class/event in a manner that it doesn’t leak. Thanks in advance.

    I have an Entry model which can belong to a Category.I am providing a CategoryChoicesForm sothat the user can choose from various Categorys (from a dropdown list)when an Entry is created or edited. I am having trouble with the CategoryChoicesForm while editing the Entry.It throws a TypeError.. What I don't understand is how do I make use of this piece of code.     I'm getting the following line in the disassembly from objdump -d of an x86 linux program... 4000b0: ba 0e 00 00 00 mov $0xe,%edx I'm trying to understand how the machine code "ba 0e 00 00 00" maps to "mov $0xe,%edx" In the manual move immediate 32-bit is: B8 + rd ... MOV r32, imm32 ie "B8" not "BA" In fact none of the MOV opcodes are "BA". If someone could break down "ba 0e 00 00 00" and explain bit-wise how to get to "mov $0xe,%edx" it would be most helpful.

  • Call function by pointer and set parametrs in memory block

    Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func,void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too.
